I'm sorry but I can't get over how desperate girlgerard was to twist your words by saying you were accusing her of being anti-semitic cause he weaponizes that same thing against anybody who's critical of him. You could not have been more clearly talking about Lynz. girlgerard is such a manipulative asshole
It can't be helped. Bullies will always find a way to twist the narrative, whether it be flat out lying or trying to make someone "slip up" by bombarding them with nitpicky weirdo asks. Because she and her friends are so manipulative, people believe them like the sky is blue.
You know girlgerard is POC right?? He’s literally not white?
Actually I didn't! My experience with girlgerard was short and happened months ago, when I made a comment that I didn't think Ray was/is queer and got blocked by them after it was insinuated that I most likely felt that way because I was being racist towards Ray. I should clarify that it was Raytorosaurus who led that conversation, and it felt so silly to me that I didn't even mention that I was a POC myself.
I didn't care for a long time because I'm so much older than these people, I'm pretty sure they're in their early twenties? I'm 33, it's just not something that weighs on me.
Or maybe it did? lol since what happened was that I ended up getting triggered a couple of days ago, because I kept seeing others posting the same type of experiences with them (and the gang). for the record, I actually think she has a gift with the way she's able to express herself ergo ' I hope she uses her meangirl energy for good one day' haha. Same goes for raytorosaurus!
So there, I added my irritation to the endless void that is social media. It doesn't mean I hate them, or that I'm on a mission to fix fandom politics. I was just sad and triggered that it seems to be a pattern with the popular bloggers in this space. In my opinion, weaponizing race and trans issues against what seems to be a pretty liberal crowd is redundant and just misguided (and also a huge issue with the left in general, we have a tendency to eat each other alive for the benefit of NO ONE). In my experience racists and transphobes are not shy about it. I mean, I could be wrong- are there a bunch of sneaky racists and transphobes in this fandom that I don't know about? should I be scared? or is it more likely that young people who are white and/or cis might stumble in their journey to figure out why they might have blind spots. And let's add of course, that fandom spaces twists our sense of righteousness because everything is through the lens of how it relates back to the band.
Also I don't really think call out posts do anything of real value, so thank you for reading!
