28: If you could pick any story arc, what would you like to see as a movie?Ooh! You know, this will sound weird, but I’d prefer it if the movies just…stayed away from my favorite stuff? It’s not that the movies are bad, but anything that’s in them will get the attention of fandom, and I sort of like it here in my own little niche where there’s no drama or fights about headcanons or anything like that. There’s a lot of stuff that I’d like to see as a movie for me but then not actually have be seen by everybody else. What first came to my mind though (and which I’d be a-okay with sharing with fandom) is a New Mutants vs Hellions story. They were never an actual arc in the comics, they just occasionally interacted, usually but not always in conflict. But I feel like what was in the comics could be made into an actual arc for a movie. It would play up the “mutant school vs mutant school” aspect, not as a life-or-death deal but more youthful rivalry, as was the case in the comics, and we could have a more comic-accurate Hellfire Club as supporting cast in the background. Other NM characters like Lila Cheney, Tom Corsi, and Sharon Friedlander could be worked in too. I’m not sure about if I’d want Magneto running the school at the time or not (like he was in the comics) because while I love Headmaster Magneto, and his interactions with the Hellfire Club as a member could be a cool subplot, I also feel like the focus might wind up too much on him, especially with however he came to be headmaster of the school. And I’d like for the focus to be on the kids. It’d definitely be a more lighthearted tone than the other films have been, more a teen drama like Juno, but I think the focus on characters daily lives and interactions over dark’n’dramatic plot is actually something a lot of fans want to see, given the focus on that sort of thing in fanart and such. And there’s plenty of stuff to develop on with characters like Catseye and Jetstream and Wolfsbane and so on. In fact, my main concern is there might not be time to give all these great characters the time they need/deserve, so it might work better as a TV series. It would also probably be set in its own universe/continuity outside of the other X-Men films, just by necessity with timelines and canons and stuff.29: What do you think would make a great Marvel tv show?….ok clearly I should have read all the questions BEFORE answering them, because the above answer should be my answer for this one. The most I think about it, the more a New Mutants show would fit really great with an episode format rather than a movie format. Especially if we’re gonna be giving attention to the Hellions as well. 40: What is your favorite location in Marvel and why?I was gonna say the Hellfire Club and the Massachusetts Academy, but I think that has to do more with liking the characters there that I associate with them. So I guess my other answer would be the Savage Land because any time you want to do something dinosaurs or the like, you’ve got a ready-made canon location for it!
