i was stalking the rc confession page, and i came across such a weird take i have to say something. the confession said white volot was ugly (which is true he looks like shit) and in the comments someone was like “ohh because a black man looks better in a slavic setting”. and i just want to say y'all are so quick to defend white LIs when they're abusive towards the mc in the name of “it's just fiction” (which i actually agree with to some extent) but y'all draw the line at a black man being in a story set in a slavic village??? at least try to hide your racism.

I didn't even pick him as my endgame LI but everytime he came on screen, I came too. I couldn't shut up about how fine he was so much so that I forgot half of season one’s plot(Not much to remember anyway 💀)

While everyone was crucifying RC for daring to make a black LI because it wasn't “historically accurate”, I was deadass adding him to my list of sexy RC black Love interests. And he’s the Og before they added Wolot so Black Volot is canon to me 🤷🏾‍♀️

Bottom line is, y'all can’t handle his fine ass, but don't worry, I can. Perfectly. I love it over here with Bolot. You’re missing out guys 🤷🏾‍♀️

The thing with this whole Wolot nonsense is that it's not even about whether or not Wolot is attractive, but about how RC decided to appease racists instead of standing their ground. Now, they gave themselves twice the work for one character which potentially gives them more of an excuse to use AI in their CGs. If you find Wolot hot that's whatever, but don't try to twist peoples' words in an attempt to ignorant to the bigger picture.

This is a good time to ask why the portrayal of POC in a Slavic village is more offensive than characters of colors with primarily eurocentric features in historical books centered on cultures of color? Do you only care about historical accuracy when it comes to your culture? Are you picking and choosing when historical accuracy is crucial to your enjoyment of a book?

Volot gets another silhouette CG. I don’t know… maybe if so many of you hadn’t been racist, we could’ve had better CGs for Volot by now. Maybe if RC hadn’t listened to the racist demand for a whitewashed Volot, we’d actually have more—and better—CGs featuring him. But hey, what can we even do at this point?
