@rcdlcdger said: “Nope, sorry, you’re not getting rid of me that easily.”
Her smile was small but soft as she looked at Natasha, “Good.” The last thing she wanted was to be rid of the other woman, especially because of something that had happened on a job. Maria inhaled slowly, trying to get her emotions back in check. “Do I need to patch you up?”
@rcdlcdger liked this for a Taylor Swift starter || Clara Bow
"It's always going to be about comparison in the court of public opinion." Steve knew that it might not be the most comforting thing, but he knew that sometimes that wasn't what was needed. "They always want whatever is fresh and new, something they can see as flawless. We're not that, and that's okay. We can be something else and still try to protect them."
@rcdlcdger just wants to check in...

Peter never really heard from any Avengers members anymore. To be honest he wasn't even sure who was on the team at this point it seemed to change so many times, and maybe everyone who was part of it just didn't see a reason to check on Spider-Man. Which was fine, they probably had way bigger and more serious things to deal with anyways and Peter was doing alright. It worked out. Avengers or the different members on it handled the really big stuff, that's what they were known for, that's why they formed in the first place. While they did that, he and he others around town just handled New York. It was nice, some kind of unspoken balance that just seemed to happen and was accepted. It kept him busy and focused, made it harder for people to track where he was going to be at any given time. It got him out into the city where people might need him and not stuck in his own head like he could be lately.
With no major crisis' happening, there was no reason to think any of them, current or former, would come looking for him. Or that they would actually successfully find him.
He spotted Natasha- was it supposed to be Ms. Romanoff or Agent Romanoff?- from where he hung off a web from one of the cranes adding to a building that really didn't need the extra six stories of height, but someone had decided to pay for it anyways. At first he wasn't sure that she noticed him but after staring for several seconds, it did kinda seem like she was looking right at him. Maybe she wasn't looking for him and just happened to find him? Peter looked down at the street, up at the webbing he was hung from, and then shot another over to the building she was on before zipping over. It was another few seconds before he was pulling himself over the edge and was crouched a few steps away from her, "Uh....hi."
"natasha...." he spoke her name as his gaze searched her over with a near concern he could not shake, and he straightened up. "clearly something on your mind." he confessed as he leaned his shoulders back and gave them a slight roll. "spit it out, i can take it." they both knew it, they both knew they could handle just about anything. a road like theirs to getting where they were now, not much shook him anymore.
rcdlcdger hit the ♥︎ for a starter (from james barnes)
She gets home and drops her mission gear all over the living room before dragging herself to collapse onto the couch, grateful that she can finally lie down for a bit.
“We need a vacation.” she mutters to her mom, hoping she won’t comment on the trail of mess she left behind. “I’d love to go somewhere where no one’s shooting at me for once.”
@rcdlcdger gets a starter !

Steve has the decency to at least try to look guilty as he scratches at his elbow and glances up at the redhead through hooded eyes, long lashes, and the most charming smile he thinks he can work up.
Not that he thinks it's going to work (it never has), but Sam's told him he's got puppy dog eyes and dammit, Steve is going to get to take advantage of them one day.
"I guess I'm not going to get away with the excuse that there was traffic, am I?" he asks her shyly, his expression becoming something like remorse, or maybe the sort of guilty pleasure he has when Natasha is fondly frustrated with him.
He hopes its fond. It usually is.
