Shota + Art

Shota is the teacher that says "I'm not a great artist." and then proceeds to draw stick figures as a means to explain something. The thing is, Shota doesn't actually announce that he is bad at drawing. He just draws what he is trying to get across and his expression alone is enough to stop anyone from laughing. Shota is a better painter than he is a sketcher. His father loves painting and while Shota never had the love for it that Aizawa Sr. did, he can paint decently. He isn't Bob Ross or nearly as good as his father. Shota understands some basic things like primary and complimentary colors but still lacks a lot of art fundamentals. Art wasn't something that interested him all too much. I've mentioned previously though that Shota is musically inclined and that is where his artistic skills lie [1].

it's only after silver had rested through the night that grusha makes good on their response last night: they would only help silver learn how to use a cane to aid his mobility after a full night's sleep.

they say nothing at first, instead let silver go about 'discovering' the new aid on his own. mind & hands engaged, silver's left to his own devices: look the cane over / feel it, weigh it / transfer it from hand to hand, test grip against the handle... all of the above. grusha nods slightly as silver at last seems to become familiar enough with the object that he's ready to place it upon the ground & bear weight upon it --

-- in his left hand, whilst his aching knee was the very same --

-- to which the ice specialist is quick to turn their wrist, lifting their own cane from the ground & drawing it sharply in front of silver at the level of his ribcage. despite the great speed it was a controlled, precise movement, and the message of "wait," was in no way able to be misinterpreted.

"pause... think about this for a moment." they don't look down as if to prevent giveaway & gently encourage silver to reach the conclusion on his own, "what about this picture should be changed?"

"I see you're finally successful enough at something that you received an invite to teach this little club."

He'd heard rumor of Silver in the area, and of being invited to teach this little club but hadn't paid them any heed until now. A mistake perhaps. Either way, they've crossed paths and it looks like they were true enough after all.

A surprise, given his memory of a useless child sent on errands, an angry teenager incapable of looking past his own faults and caring for his pokemon properly the way they deserved. That he still had any was a mystery to Lance. Of all people they could have called on, Silver was one of the lowest on his list.

Lance looked Silver up and down for a moment, head tilted just enough to indicate interested disbelief. "I suppose you grasped the lessons eventually. Congratulations."

Fog was beginning to mask the hilly mountainside as afternoon approached. It was not an ideal time to look for stones for camp, but night wasn't going to wait. Distant cries of Spearow and the occasional Hoothoot broke the silence when the sound of the river grew too boring to listen to.

There was a blue and red blur under the water, growing more or less clear as he descended to the river bottom and rose back to the surface. The clattering of stones onto the bank with moving water helped Shay keep track of where her Feraligatr was. Her eyes were busy inspecting whatever stones he was bringing up.

Careful not to heat those too much, lest they explode in the fire.

The suitable ones went in her bag, others tossed back into the river. Shay wasn't listening to the sudden quiet until Riptide gives off a cautious low bellow. A sound she familiarized herself with to be a greeting at strangers.

She turns and... a familiar sight of blue and red from the other side of the river gets her attention first. Odd, Feraligatr weren't native to this area, and there was a second one.

"Hey, you lost?" She asks the other gator, unknowing but wary if anyone else was around.

 ❛                      you  should   see  the  other  guy .    he  looks  way  worse .     ❜     tone rather flat, the young woman turned to face the red haired stranger ;      hues flickering with a little   AMUSEMENT   while mimic remains free of any emotion. it wasn't often that somebody decided their pride was too hurt after losing a pokemon battle to come & try another fight                   but between trainers directly. she was spotting a single bruise on her cheek while the dude was already running off clutching his nose. what an   INTERESTING  MOMENT   for the newcomer to arrive.

" oi, crasher. let's do this. "

Fresh off his victory over the beefy Noland, Crasher Wake looks at Silver dubiously. This kid, he's seen him hanging out by Grusha for most of the evening. Maybe he's another one of those deceptively strong athletes.

Either that or the kid's got guts. Wake will give him that.

"Alright, kid. I'll take you on!" He motions for Silver to join him at the table. The kid's intense, steely eyes remind him a little of their sparkly host's stormy gaze and how she had boldly challenged Volkner.

This evening has been full of surprises so far. Maybe this will be another one. He grips Silver's slender hand and readies himself.

'Three... two... one... go!'

The true surprise comes as the entire table rattles when he slaps down Silver's hand almost immediately. It's over so quickly that even he doesn't realize it.

"Oops, sorry kid! Better luck next time?"

Maybe he should consider hitting the gym with Grusha.
