#RawChefYin visits Living Food Lab in Canggu, Bali! - This is such a beautiful space and it's a vegan café, teaching kitchen, art gallery and co-working space all rolled into one. The food is healing, nourishing and extremely tasty. It works perfectly as a co-working space as the Internet speeds are really fast (we know coz we spent hours working there today!) and I loved how there was so much natural light and high ceilings so you have such a wonderful sense of spaciousness. 👍👍👍 - We were lucky enough to be able to catch up with Pauliina who is the owner and director of Living Food Lab, Bali. Honoured to be invited to the Bali Vegan Festival 2018 in Ubud (and Canggu!) as one of the presenters this year.🙏 - I decided to conduct a raw vegan mooncake workshop as this would be an extremely unique experience for the participants. The last time I checked, there weren't any videos of raw vegan mooncake recipes on YouTube. There are some vegan ones but no raw vegan mooncake video recipes at the time of writing so this would be a very special session for those attending. 👍👍✨ - Those who came learnt how to make delicious, beautiful raw vegan mooncakes to impress their family & friends. These contain no eggs, no dairy, no lard, no white flour, no refined sugar thus making them the perfect treat for the Mid-Autumn Festival or anytime of the year.💚 - They discovered the secrets how to: 1️⃣Make raw vegan mooncake crust 2️⃣Make raw vegan mooncake filling 3️⃣Make raw vegan mooncake “yolk” 4️⃣Shape the mooncake properly - Thank you to everyone who came for the demo, especially since there were other awesome sessions going on at the same time. #RawChefYin visits Warung Mertua in Canggu! - Our first time ever in Canggu. It's at least my 6th of 7th trip to Bali but I've never been to Canggu before. Taking the opportunity over the next few days to explore this part of Bali. - I initially thought I'd just mono-meal on some mangos but then decided to walk out a bit to check out the area. Most people have suggested or but I wanted to have something that's truly local and wanted to have some warung food. 🍚 - When spotted the sign Warung Mertua, it already drew me in. Figured we could veganise the food or at least request for Nasi Goreng Vegetarian without the telur (egg). - We ended up with: 💚Steamed white rice 8K 💚Fried Tempe served with sambal and some raw veggies 7K 💚Cah Kangkung which is basically kangkung veggies with garlic -8K - We made sure they didn't use any eggs to fry the tempeh. The sambal has no belacan in it, in fact, the server rattled off all the ingredients to assure us it's vegan. Also we checked to see if they use oyster sauce in the vegetables and they said there's none. - I love the steamed white rice - so simple and so satisfying. It's in a small portion so I didn't feel too bad after eating it. The sambal was very, very, very good!😋😋😋 - And very cheap too.
