I dont understand why Doom has to be the villain of this movie at all beyond brand recognition. Cause Everything we know, is that according to the Russos, it needs to be RDJ who plays him, and it will tie back to Tonys snap at the end of Endgame. I dont see any reason why it must be Doom, because it seems like its just Doom in name only. Why cant it just be an Iron Man variant if being RDJ is so integral? "Cause theyre doing Secret Wars and Doom is the villain of that story" But theyre already changing huge amounts of the story in the first place. Its not going to be a 1:1 adaptation anyway, so either do Doom right, or make the villain an Iron Man variant, dont try to merge the two ideas cause it will just end up worse than committing to one of them

Even with the Thor and X-Men teasers for Doomsday being pretty solid I still cant bring myself to be excited for this movie because I remember that it all leads back to RDJ Doom. I just cannot get behind that casting. I can't think of a single justification for it that doesn't feel cheap. Either hes a variant of Tony who became Doom, in which case, they could have just used Superior Iron Man instead of skinning Doom over Iron Man, or He is actually Doom, who just happens to look like Tony...because. And like I know the multiverse stuff isn't really Superior Iron Mans deal, but they clearly have no problem changing characters because Doom doesn't fucking look like Tony Stark either

Its been a whole year since RDJ was announced as Doom and my feelings on it have not changed in the slightest. I dont like it at all. Seeing this gif legitimately saps me of any excitement i might have had for this movie. It just leaves me with a profound sense of underwhelming and disappointment

Part of me wishes that if they were gonna go this route that they kept it 100% under wraps and let it be revealed in the movie but I guess their thought process was "let people get over their disappointment early and accept it so the bad word of mouth doesn't hurt the box office opening weekend"

Ok, the Fantastic Four trailer has me cautiously optimistic. I like the 70s retrofuture vibes and the set design, which makes sense, Matt Shakman did all the period set designs really well in Wandavision. The effects on Ben are a little bit uncanny, but everything overall looks pretty solid and obviously, Michael Giacchinos music is great. I hope its good but im still not quite convinced to see it in theaters. given Marvel's track record lately I can't help but worry it's all aesthetic and the writing isn't gonna hit. Plus the whole RDJ Doom thing but I'm not sure he's even in the movie
