Working on this commission was an absolute blast! Western vibes always get me ngl. It instantly reminds me of Red Dead Redemption 2, which is one of my favorite games. Pulled some inspo from the in-game general store catalog to create this google docs template, along with the customer’s references, which were super cool and really on point, and that made the whole creative process even more awesome. I really love working with this kind of aesthetic and love even more anything that reminds me of my boah Arthur. Thank you so much for trusting my work! 🤠🤎

Dylan peeked his head into wherever Shad was. "Shadddd?" He called out, humming.
@red-dead-muses
"...mmm?" Shad rubs her eyes, looking over at Dylan and trying to focus on his face. She finally fell asleep that night, but the dark circles under her eyes were still there. "Hey Dylan...? Is something wrong?
Dylan had been taking it easy. Easier than he normally would. Had he gotten better with eating a drinking? No. But he got better with sleeping. Satan didn't plague his mind as much, seeming to not be around anymore since the jaw incident.
Dylan was just fine with that. Means he got to focus more on his found family, on Jamie, on the people that truly mattered. He went from having nothing, to having everything.
So, he found himself on a stroll. No Finn, just himself on a nice little walk in the woods. Stimulating and comforting all the same.
....until the hoofsteps were heard.
Dylan looked over, confused of who would be around. And... fairly close to camp. Had someone gone out?? He didn't remember. But when he saw the horse, he broke into a smile. "I'll be... Jay mary Jane. It can't be." He snickered as he tried to peer over the light brown horse.
There she was. A girl (woman now), long dark brown hair in a braid, cowboy hat on her head, and a pretty outfit that just screamed her, contrasting against her darker skin. She smiled softly. "Dylan, the little ruffian. You look..." she scruntized him for a solid minute.
Dylan shrugged, lazy smirk still on his face; inside he was beaming to see her again. An actual friend he had wanted to see. "Rugged? Scar-faced? Trail-kill?" He half joked.
Jay scoffed and hopped off her horse, patting its neck. "I was going to say you look like you. Even after these years." Her brown eyes were soft, caring. "How you been, fox?"
the little thief softened himself at the old nickname. He hadn't heard it since he was seven. "...Good actually. Bad bits, course, but overall... ya know."
She nodded, stuffing her hands in her pockets. "Same here. More bad bits than good but that's life right?" She chuckled, shaking her head. "What can you do."
Dylan hummed, rocking on his heels as he mimicked her, stuffing his own hands into his jean pockets. "Yeah.... whatcha doing far out here?"
"Traveling." She huffed out a breath. "I can't stay cooped up in a house no more. After Matt died.."
"He died? What from? If uh, I can ask."
Jay frowned at the memory, looking down. "Sickness... Tuberculosis they say..."
Dylan looked down himself, shuffling his feet. "'M sorry to hear... he... he was-"
"He was a bad man. Don't." She chuckled weakly. "He... he never loved me i know. And... maybe i was ok with that... I wasted a lot of time."
"...yeah..."
The silence rang out between the two friends until Dylan cleared his throat, but before he could utter a word, Jay did.
"What about you? What are you up to these days, shortstack?"
Dylan smirked again. "Same as you. Kinda. 'M sticking around the area though.. i... I have a family."
"You have a wife?"
"Huh- NO NOT LIKE THAT-" Dylan laughed, shaking his head. "Can you imagine? Lil versions of me running around? Yeesh. I... got a partner, but. Uh, I just mean found family."
Jay smiled. "Glad to hear. You deserve it."
"Thanks... hey, you wanna... maybe catch up? I haven't seen you in years."
Jay smiled wider. "That would be great. Lead the way."
Dylan beamed and turned around to start walking. Just as he took a step, a gunshot went off. The thief froze, heart stopping for a moment. What... happened?... when he glanced back he saw Jay.
Gun in her hand, hissing as she cocked it. She had just barely missed Dylan, hitting the tree near him. "Shitshit shit..."
Dylan blinked. No. She didn't. She wouldn't.... right..? His good eye narrowed. "...Jay?"
"...Fox, look-"
"What the fuck was that." His voice got cold, ice covering his breaking heart as he slowly turned to face her. She didn't... it couldn't be...
"Your bounty is 5,000 dollars." She blurted out, looking at him with desperate eyes. "N-nobles from Ireland want your head. I need the money, Fox. I'm short on debt and loans and i-"
Dylans blood pumped in his ears and he drew his gun, hitting her straight in the shoulder to knock her back. As she cried out in pain, he walked over, standing over her. His eye wasn't his own as he towered over.
"...A life for money. Should have tried a few years ago when my life didn't matter." He hissed, pointing the gun down at her head. "Who else is looking for me. The ruffians?'
Jay swallowed and nodded, eyes wide. "L-law, the old gang... everyone who sees your poster... Dylan i can help you-"
"Does it look like I need yer fuckin help!?" Dylan laughed with no humor. "You truly are dull."
BAM.
Red coated the plants around, almost like acid. Dylan stared at the body before turning, eye ice cold.... he needed to put a stop to this.
The world is kill or be killed. And he refused to go down without a fucking fight.

"You. Gimme all your money. This-...this is a robbery!"
Arthur approached, attempting to rob, but he wasn't threatening witha a gun, his voice didn't seem violent either. He seemed sick and...ashamed, almost desperate.
Dylan had been chilling in his usual place; a field off the side of a trail, not to far from town, and not to far from the van der linde gang he liked to bother every now and then. His horse hung off to the side, grazing peacefully as his owner lay on a rock.
Dylans mind snapped out his zoned out state as he heard footsteps coming down the trail. It could be a hunter, a traveler, or something else entirely. Dylan liked to find out. So, he smirked as he stood and went to peer behind a tree to have a looksie.

Theodore approached the spot, unnaware of Dylan nearby, he carried in his shoulder a large elk pelt he had hunted recently, there was still a bit of wet blood on the fur of the pelt. He tossed the pelt onto the ground and began to prepare a small camp fire, he lit himself a cigarette and took a long drag followed by a sigh to exhale all the smoke into the air. He gruffed softly and took out a small tin from his jacket pocket, using a small stick he spotted nearby he scooped up some sticky and goopey substance; oak sap, and placed it on the ground. He tossed a few more dry leaves from nearby, sticks, and anything else he found and lit the fire with a lighter. He sat down and pulled the pelt towards himself to clean it with his hunting knife.
When a gust of wind hit him, Theodore lifted his head and sniffed it, he hummed softly and looked around, trying to spot if anyone was nearby.
