ok i just had a thought inspired by what just occured to me in real life and also the ability to detatch yoyos from the string in terraria. imagine:

Yoyos are given a "Durability Meter" that runs out after dealing enough damage. when this happens, the yoyo will detatch from the string and become a projectile as if it were thrown from the magic yoyo bag. generally speaking while the yoyo is bouncing around you will not be able to throw the yoyo again until it despawns, but once it does you can continue to use the yoyo like normal

of course the different yoyos would play with this in different ways, but generally,

How would you feel if this was in the game?

This is cool I like it. Awesome idea actually.

It's gimmicky and would detract from original yoyo gameplay.

Stupid idea why would I ever want to Stop yoyoing

First Victory

A long battle fought on a terrible night

Sent the world into a great fright

An evil purge that plagued this world

A new terror now unfurled 

An evil presence watched overhead

Scaring the world and hiding the undead

It soon reigned down with its might

Cursing all within its sight

The watcher stalked as the people die

Attempting to save themselves from the Eye

It hunted without mercy, breaking populations to zero

Until finally, they arrived with a new hero

They fought all night with whatever they had

Small staffs, bows, and swords they clad

The Eye was strong but their hope was great

But as the moon fell soon day would break

The battle took its turn

As the heroes fought for victory to earn

Almost when the eye had run away

A final arrow would finally slay

The victory was celebrated 

As the townspeople felt elated

As night fell once again

They breathed in relief as it filled with zen

The dark was cooling and calm belief

All knew that it was only brief

And as the heroes looked at the sky

They saw a thousand lanterns rise
