Part three of my Resident Evil/Little Nightmares crossover is here, for the few people who care! As stated in the previous part, this was originally one block of writing separated into smaller chunks, so reading the first and previous pieces is highly recommended!
The pair of children froze in their tracks.
“What the…” He patted down his form. “My gun-” Gaze sliding down, his eyes widened a smidge when he was met with two kids standing in the middle of his scattered ammunition. “Hey!”
“Run!” As fast as they could manage, the duo ran for the vents.
Ignoring his call, Six dashed straight for the vent. “Gah!” I can’t reach it without a boost!
“Oi!” Then drop the weapon and run!
“No way!” You drop your key first!
Seeing the not-Adult stagger behind them, Mono shook his head. We need this! Just… Run! He caught sight of an elevator at the end of the hall. “Hey!” That way!
Both children made a mad dash for the elevator. Unfortunately, Loud had longer legs, and unlike most other Adults, he wasn’t afraid to use them. In a few quick strides he was already behind them.
With a grunt, Six bit a loop-like object sticking out of her weapon and pulled it out, before throwing the entire thing behind her.
“Hey! That’s dangerous-!” Loud threw his hand in front of his eyes as a burst of white light blazed across the hall. “Damnit!”
“Ai!” Giving a frantic motion forwards, she urged Mono towards the elevator shaft. He came to a skidding halt in front of the controls, bending down so Six could scuttle on top of him and press the button. “Ah!” I can’t reach!
Biting his lip, he dropped the key and stood up, just tall enough for her to press the scuffed red button. The elevator started promptly, and he breathed a sigh of relief before he heard the tell-tale clatter of Loud’s boots. Six almost crashed to the ground with how Mono whirled around, immediately putting his arms out in front of her.
The not-Adult took a step forward, brows scrunched together as he looked at them. “…Kids?!”
Already backed up against the hand-rail, Mono glanced behind him. Six had grabbed the rail and leaned backwards over the gap between the elevator shaft and the platform. Just as the elevator came to a stop, he grabbed the key and ducked around the safety railing, slipping into empty air.
A harsh scraping noise followed behind the children as they dove into the shaft, immediately jolting when a pair of hands locked around them. Shell shocked, Mono looked up at their captor… or savior.
Loud gave a strained sigh as he lay, face down with his hands shoved in-between the platform and the wall. “I got you,” he muttered, before struggling to his feet. Determined not to use his hands, it took him a good few seconds before he stood straight and finally got a good look at them. Six, of course, was kicking and squirming in his grip.
“Easy kid,” he said, and paused. “…If you are a kid.” He looked them up and down. With his eyebrows knit together and his lips set in a firm line, he looked like he’d never seen children before. “I’m not going to hurt you, okay?”
Mono blinked, and glanced over at Six, who had started biting the not-Adult’s fingers. Even if Loud hardly reacted, she was determined to leave him with as many cuts as possible.
“Ow, stop, I’m not trying to-”
She just bit down harder.
Glaring at him with her teeth sunk into his thumb, she jerked her head back, making a large spot of blood well up on his skin. He winced, but staunchly resisted the urge to flinch. With a huff and another hard glare, Six chewed and swallowed whatever she had in her mouth.
Loud clenched his jaw as he looked between the two of them, and his hand, littered with tiny teeth marks. After a moment of consideration, he inhaled. “Listen. I’m going to set you down, and you’re not going to run away, got it?”
Mono tilted his head. He understood… most of that, the question was whether or not his friend would comply.
Six turned her head to Mono, and hesitantly, he nodded. She huffed, shooting him a dirty look, but stopped wiggling so much.
“Alright.” Stepping off the elevator, the not-Adult kneeled down and placed the duo on the floor. He took the opportunity to look them over again, with that same air of confusion about him.
Mono had already dropped the key in favor of scooting to Six’s side, grabbing her wrist before she could bolt. Again, she gave him a scowl, but he shook his head and gave a barely perceptible, “Ai.”
This was probably one of the more difficult sections to write, because I feel like I don’t have a good enough grasp on Leon’s character, and I suck at action sequences. How’d I do?
