these swedes are so passionate about cosmic by red velvet (which they made) and i honestly didn't realize some of the cool layers of the song.
like of course it's abba-inspired but they kept a secret from kenzie cuz she said it would sound too old. they said they were homesick and it felt so scandi and it was so beautiful and emotional that they cried listening to the demo topline. the demo vocals are sooo good she said it was one of the songs that she spent the most effort into recording the demo vocals for. and adrian mckinnon's demo lines r so fun like how did he make himself sound like a girl group. i'm so glad that red velvet does justice to their effort like the girls HIT that bridge and those runs.
and of course the guitar is real!!! but they edited to make it sound more stiff and sampled!! and yes the base track is earthy but the topline is so spacey it creates a perfect contrast.
