Classical & Jazz Musicians React: SHINee 'Atlantis'
Calling all Eastman musicians~
If you haven’t heard of it already, I run a YouTube channel called ReacttotheK (https://www.youtube.com/ReacttotheK) which features Eastman students reacting to/analyzing K-Pop music.
My channel has over 570k subscribers and 180,544,425 views.
As the school year approaches, so does Season 4 of my most popular YT series ‘Classical Musicians React.’ We have a few reacting slots open, so we’re looking for new reactors to feature on the channel!
If you're interested in joining the channel next year, here are the application requirements:

Classical Musicians React: Jimin 'Lie'
classical musicians react is really truly one of the most interesting react series i’ve ever watched
like there’s just something intriguing about watching these people who know more about music and composition than the average listener to point things out about the songs/artists we love and it’s like kinda enlightening to watch?
idk look up reacttothek if you’re interested ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Seventeen “AJU NICE” How it Sounds
Yoyo I’m back with another post about SVT. This time it’s a how it sounds post about their song AJU NICE or Very Nice.
So one video I’m gonna be referencing a lot today is from a channel called “React to the K” from their series “Classical Musicians React”, and it is their video reacting to Svt’s Mansae and Aju Nice, and the link to the video is here. (go to about 8:00 if you ant to see them react to solely AJU NICE)
The song starts simply with just Vernon saying “Oh tres deul uno uno deul” (yes that is Spanish they worldly lol) and a simple beat on a base drum. But as he nears the end you can hear synthetic strings rising in pitch, and when DK sings, the bass, drums, and an electric guitar drop it to bring the song up. DK and Hoshi stay on the same pitch, but suddenly Wonwoo and Mingyu come in and talk-sing their lines in their naturally deep voices, along with the rising strings again, it draws you into their voices, and with an added pause in the song before Seungkwan comes in it leaves a residual shockwave. When Seungkwan starts to sing, the bass drum and instrumentals change with no guitar, and with more backup vocals and harmonies. After that, everything drops except for the pounding drum and Mingyu’s deep voice saying “My body is itching and beating”, and Joshua comes in with a clean rising falsetto saying “This feeling, what should I do?” with nothing but a pounding drum and then nothing but his voice, and then comes the chorus.
The chorus is honestly my favorite. The lyrics are simple, but the instrumentals are killer. This blaring ensemble of trumpets comes and gives your ears a great shock, and that added with a pounding bass just adds to the feeling of exitment the chorus gives you. And then all the instrumentals drop AGAIN and leave Vernon again saying “Oh tres deul”, and Dino comes up to attack us with his charms. While he and vernon rap, the whole song becomes so much simpler. All you can hear in the back is a synth bass playing a repeating riff, and a sort of distorted bell(???) doing the same riff but at a different octave, with some simbols AND THAT’S IT. But it works so well? It puts more emphasis on their voices, while also keeping your ears entertained because it keeps changing so much. I mentioned the video earlier because I ove thier reactions for the chorus, and during this part because it is such a change that no one is ever ready. And after this it changes AGAIN! For Jun and Th8, the instrumentals become a more obvious electric guitar, playing chords that weren’t heard earlier, but the bass drum has returned.
After this it is the standard pre-chorus and chorus again, but with added suspence because instead of just one “What will I do” they have two, with a quick beat of trumpets, drums, and a very hispanic “ugh”!(the attack of the trumpets (in a very very good way)), and then THE BRIDGE. When the bridge starts you have rising bass piano chords (FROM WHERE??) for only four beats, and they they leave and a drum replaces them, with some snares and some faint backup vocals. And then Scoups and Wonwoo start rapping, woth PIANO, but with different chords and at a higher pitch then at the beginning of the bridge. Next non-synth viollins enter, still with the bass drum, but the strings just go ham. I can’t explain what they do, but I’ll attempt. They start with a set riff, but they then drop and octave and work upm repeat the same riff, and then drop to just repeating two notes for 4 counts.
Next, they ultimate colffhanger. Everything drops but Seungkwan, DK, and quick beats of trumpets and drums inbetween beautiful falsettos, and for I think the 5th time in this song, there is silence except for Seungkwan’s impressive high note, and the exhilarating chorus comes for the last time. And yet again, the beating drum and the synth bass compliment the entirety of Seventeen rap/singing the final lines of the song. It ends with just the trumpets and the synth bass hitting harmonic riffs, and ending with a solid bang!!
