Currently reading Fiction by TracedInAir and I will tell you what this fic as made me laugh so fucking hard.
So it's like if little witch was an anime featuring Shiny Chariot instead of Akko. And akko grew up watching it and now writes cringy fanfic for a dead fandom. Well guess who also writes fanfic? Fucking Diana! Lol. So these two get into an online scuffle cus their writing couldn't be more different and they kind of both hate each other's work. But as events follow they end up spending more time together online and becoming friends. And where I'm at this has developed into crushes on both their parts.
This is the best slowburn I've read in a while. And it has made me laugh a lot. Like a lot a lot. It is so very self aware and even though I feel like a crazy person for getting most of the jokes I don't even give a fuck.
The author did a really did a good job of like portraying that young disastrous feeling of making a new friend online and then "oh shit oh no oh fuck, now I have a crush" feeling. It was honestly a throw back to early days of gay panic and having a heart attack when you feel that vibration in your pocket.
One of the best things about this fic is actually the authers range. Both Akko and Diana are very in character. But because they're both writers we get to see snippets of their work. And i cant believe it but holy shit their work is also in character. That shows such like understanding of both of them im honestly impressed. Btw their fics are hilarious. There's so much like subtle-not-subtle making fun of ao3 and like fanfic culture? I don't know what to call it. Bad fic isn't right cus they truly are an expirience.
And just my last thought before I finish this guy and get up to date on it. Really good development for both Akko and Diana. Each characters development has been something obviously had in mind from the beginning. Maybe not so much like the author knew exactly where to go, but more like. Every conversation they've had has resulted in a thought or feeling thats moved the character forward. And when a new chapter starts that's not forgotten of left behind. This guy really gets these characters and has been able to draw these conclusions with them and keep them on that path. And THAT is really cool.
So yeah maybe go check it out. Cus I'm enjoying it lol
