Just finished the latest chapter and auggufhghu... you're such an amazing author! I haven't been this hooked on an IF ever, really. From the setting to the main character to the plot to the characters... So many things to love. Thank you for your hard work!! The main character is easily the best I've ever seen in an IF. Their issues and the narrative are so wonderfully woven together, and it's saddening, frightening, entertaining, interesting, all at once. I can't really put it to words, but I adore the way you've written them and their issues and place in the world.
Sally... I really do adore his relationship with Crowny in all its unhealthy glory. It's very complex. Seems like people want him to get better but I'll be real, I either want him to get worse/I'd accept him as he is. I just think him and Crowny, though unhealthy, fit together in very specific ways. My Crowny has really enabled Sal's behavior, and I appreciate the fact there is a choice to actually do so. Family is always a shackle and I just like the way these two have linked their chains, I suppose, whatever way one wants to interpret it. I could talk about it all day but I'll refrain. I already wrote a damn yapfest of an essay about it to a friend of mine lol... Safe to say the ending of chapter 8 was magnificent to me. Another thing I wanted to say is I really appreciate Imre's route (I'm doing an antagonistic romance). It's very unsettling and interesting. I like that he's... pushier? Actually threatening and seems to enjoy bruising mc etc (just as mc can enjoy him doing so)? A lot of IFs avoid that kind of thing in order not to make their audience uncomfortable (which is their right) so it makes it doubly nice that this IF allows those unhealthy or threatening aspects to exist instead of stripping them away. It's realistic. It's terrifying. It's great. And it's also what freaks like me are very much into. So it's both a narrative and a subjective treat. I suppose what I'm trying to say is you write relationships and their unique complexities very well. It always scares me to think audience reception can make the author change their vision for the story, and I hope you're still steadfast going whatever direction you want since a lot of fandom spaces have turned weirdly puritan/conservative recently. Rant over, love your work, you should be damn proud of what you have here! ^^ As a sidenote, I did notice some grammar/punctuation mistakes while reading. Is the work translated from another language? Are you looking for a beta reader or such?
Grammar so ass someone thinks it’s translated 😔/s
Nah it’s written in English it’s just my brain is faster than my fingers to type. Sigh, I always forget about beta testers it’s cause I can’t focus on editing 8 episodes while writing one so I gotta wait until hiatus time
It’s always interesting when people tell me my mc is unique cause maybe it’s imposter syndrome but I never feel it perhaps it’s cause I write it. If I was a reader I might feel different
As for the enabling and toxicity? Yeah ofc. I don’t like purity of characters nor do I think it’s fun when an author forces their morality on a player cause it’s the anthesis to choice
I’m gonna be honest idgaf if someone has a moral crisis over the things I allow. I write the game I want to see not what someone else thinks is appropriate or ok for me to do
Thanks for ranting 😘
