Deeks had just finished taking the tree out of it’s box and set it up in the corner of the living room. As you fixed some baubles and tinsel around, he sat on the chair, a ball of lights in his palms.
“You have got to be kidding me!?” he exclaimed and you turned around to see the tangled ball of wires moving through his hands, “Oh my God, what has happened in here?” he complains, realising small decorations had also been tangled in the cables.
You grabbed the end of the wires that you could find, hoping it was a fast way to untangle them, but really you were making it worse. As you pulled the wire towards you, you were just tightening the knots that had formed in the middle of the ball
“Just stop! God! You’re worse than Kensi with your mess.“ Deeks joked before taking the wire from your hands, “Let me deal with this, and we’ll do it together when I’ve untangled this horror show.“ he suggested.
There was still more to do with the tree, so you knew that you could finish it slowly enough while Deeks unravelled the lights in the chair. Before he started the huge task, he pressed play on his phone, causing Christmas songs to echo around the room.
It took the length of at least 4 songs before he had untwisted and straightened out enough of the lights for him feel able to start wrapping them around the tree. He took the step ladder from the corner of the room and stood on it, pointing you to a spot at the bottom. “Take that and start wrapping them around the tree.” he directed and you followed his request.
When they were fixed nicely on his end, he stepped off the ladder and joined you to finish the last little part. He could be a perfectionist so he wanted to make sure they were in a place that satisfied him before switching them on. After a few little movements of the wires, Deeks took the plug and put it into the socket to light up the multicoloured bulbs.
He made them flash, instead of the boring still choice and took a stood back. His arm wrapped around you, “In future, you are never putting these decorations back again.” he smiled then pressed his lips to your cheek for a small kiss.

‘Kensi, can you please do something with that thing.’ You asked Kensi when she arrived at the desks.
‘What thing?’ She asked with a raised eyebrow.
‘That.’ You said pointing to the disgusting food that had been abandoned on Deeks desk. She looked over and swallowed the bite of food.
‘Nope, you can move it.’ She said as she took the seat next to you. You turned to her.
‘I moved the last one.’ You said to her, sighing. She looked at you and raised her hand, rubbing her head.
‘He’s your boyfriend, control his mess.’
‘So what if he’s my boyfriend, I didn’t sign up for the disgusting food, left on his desk.’ You said as you held your nose, the smell making its way over to you. You almost gagged.
‘I think I should put it in the bin.’ You said as you turned back to Kensi. She nodded her head agreeing.
‘Yeah, save us all from having to wear gas masks.’ She responded through her blocked nose.
You stood up and walked over to the desk, lifting your top to cover your nose. Not going to close, holding it at arm’s length.
‘What the hell is in this?’ You asked as you walked over to Kensi, showing her it. She scrunched her eyes closed.
‘Ham, mustard, pickles, cheese.’ Deeks voice came out from behind you. Your eyes widened slightly.
‘He’s right behind me, isn’t he?’ You asked Kensi, as you noticed her swallow the last of her food. She nodded. You turned around and were faced with a confused Deeks.
‘What were you doing with my sandwich?’ He asked.
‘Sandwich?’ You asked and he nodded.
‘This is what you call a sandwich?’ You asked again, looking at the thing in your hands.
‘Yes, it’s all my favourite things.’ He said, with relaxed shoulders.
‘Well, I’m awfully sad to say this.’ You said as you took a step back, closing in on the bin.
‘What are you doing.’ He asked, quite urgently.
‘Step away from the bin.’ He said, with his arms raised, you looked at him with a cheeky glint in your eyes.
‘Why should I?’ You asked. You waved it over the bin and you heard him squeak. You looked at Kensi and saw she was trying to hold her laughter in.
‘He squeaks.’ You said, waving the ‘sandwich’ over the bin again, Deeks, repeating the sound again.
‘Why shouldn’t I bin it?’ You asked him, teasingly.
‘Because it’s mine.’ He said obviously. Kensi stood up and walked away, still holding her laughter in. you raised it again and chuckled as he reached out. Your fingers ‘slipped’ and you seen his eyes go wide as he watched it fall into the bin, his face slowly changing but then he stood up and looked at you with fake anger.
‘Oops.’ You said, as you looked in the bin and then back up to Deeks.
‘Y’know… That’s not what an apology sounds like.’ He said, sighing slightly.
‘Bite me.’ You said to him, with a smirk. He stepped forward.
‘I might have to since you binned my sandwich.’ He said, and your eyes widened as he took another step forward.
“Come on then, let's get this evening over with.” you sighed, meeting Deeks in the bullpen after work. Deeks smiled smugly, making you regret the bet in the first place. The rest of the team could already see the dread on your face, “Help me.” you mouthed to Kensi, hoping she would rescue you, but instead, she grinned wildly. It wasn't that you didn't like Deeks, but the thought of spending the evening with him for the sake of a bet wasn't too appealing.
“You knew the deal when you signed up.” Sam laughed as you rolled your eyes in annoyance that you lost your bet. Deeks was already dressed and ready, and to be honest, you couldn't fault his effort, well, Hetty's effort at least. He stood dressed in a tuxedo complete with bowtie.
“He's right, Mon Ami. I told you I'd beat you to the top of the rock wall and back three times in a row. And that I did.” he gloated. “And now, I get to take you on a date.”
Hetty joined the group, holding an outfit for you to wear, “This should compliment Mr Deeks' outfit nicely.”
You looked down at her, “Why are you encouraging this, Hetty?” you asked flatly.
“A bet's a bet.” Hetty confirmed. She gave you another smile, handing you the outfit. You disappeared off and got changed, re-emerging 15 minutes later.
Deeks eyes widened at you standing there in your outfit, and his smiled suddenly turned more genuine rather than a gloating grin, “Wow, I mean, I have to say, you look fantastic.” The corners of your mouth turned upwards in a gentle, but shy smile, and your cheeks flushed a warm feeling with a shade of pink visible. Deeks padded over to you and held out his arm and you lightly took hold of it. You started to think that he was going to make this a ridiculous date, but maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.
Prompt(s): "Isn’t this supposed to be the part where we kiss?"
Pairing: Deeks x Reader

Hope you enjoy it! And as always, feedback is appreciated. :)
You and Deeks pulled up at your new home for the next few days. Stepping out dressed in a camouflaged military uniform, you walk round the car making your way towards your fake husband who wears his usual type of clothing.
Keeping up appearances, you waited for the removal van to arrive at the base. As Callen and Sam step out, they loaded the items into the house, including surveillance equipment that would be situated in an empty bedroom. Your moving in process began gathering a crowd from the fellow military families that lived near you, which is what was probably needed if you were going to get close to them.
Deeks found his way beside you, and grabbed your hand, squeezing it softly. You look at him as a little smirk appears from his lips, you could tell he was enjoying this. Kensi even warned you he would likely become unbearable, and even though you brushed it off at the time, you were starting to think she was right.
Soon after arriving, Callen and Sam leave without drawing attention to themselves. You take a moment, looking round at the other houses as Deeks' arm finds it's way round you, draping his hand over your shoulder. You turned to him again, noticing that the idiotic smirk that was on his face not long ago hadn't faded.
You kept your eyes firmly on hi, watching the corners of his mouth slowly move towards the edge of his face. He doesn't move his eyes off you, and it was making you wonder if there was something on your face that you couldn't see.
“What?” you wondered, brushing your hand against your face trying to remove any crumbs or whatever it was that Deeks was staring at. You ran your tongue along your teeth, “Is there something on my face, or in my teeth?” you mused.
Deeks' smile became bigger, and looking around, he noticed a couple watching you both as they walk into the house next door. He didn't even answer your question before he asked one himself, “Isn’t this supposed to be the part where we kiss?” he asked, sounding almost too serious about it.
You almost choked on your own saliva in shock. Even though you knew it would help your credibility if it did actually kiss him. Instead you decided to show him up a bit.
Laughing slightly, you allowed a big grin to form on your face, “Only in your very wildest dreams, Deeks.” you joked before elbowing him in the ribs.
You stomp off before Marty started calling after you, “[Y/N]. Baby doll. Sweetheart. Honeypie”. Standing at the end of the path, the couple who was watching starting laughing in amusement. Deeks gave them a little wave before going inside the house.
Deeks' arrival was met by a little giggle from you as you sat on the stairs, he knew you were only kidding. You walk towards him, stopping when you felt the front of his shoes touch yours, “Now is the part where we kiss.” you tell him as you tiptoe slightly and pressing your lips against the stubble on his cheek. Maybe Kensi was wrong after all.
A confused look took over his face, “But nobody can see us.” Deeks observed. Though he wasn't complaining, he enjoyed the kiss, probably a little more than he should've. And going undercover was just an opportunity for Marty's feelings to grow. Even if you didn't know about them.

‘You belong to me.’ The voice repeatedly said, getting closer with every corner you turned. Every step, he got closer. You kept on running until you came to a back end and you turned, seeing the figure in the shadow. You watched as he moved slowly, teasingly towards you.
‘Please don’t.’ you pleaded, but he just laughed and continued. You fell to the ground, bringing your knees up to your chest.
‘Y/N!’ You heard and you tried to look up but he was leaning over you now. You screamed as you felt hands on you.
‘Y/N. It’s me wake up.’ The man said shaking you.
You awoke with a start, your breathing erratic. You looked around the room, moving as you felt arms around you. You stopped when your head was pressed against their chest.
‘Hear my heartbeat? Just focus on that.’ You heard Callen say and you calmed down listening to his heart. Taking deep breaths and calming down.
‘You’re okay. You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now.’ He said as he stroked your back and smoothed your hair down. You sat up away from his chest and ran your hands through your hair, keeping all the strands away from your face.
‘Are you okay?’ He asked, with a hand gently on your knee.
‘I’m better.’ You replied. He nodded before getting up and going to the bathroom to fill the glass with water.
‘That’s good, I love you.’ He said as he handed the water and placed a kiss to your forehead.
‘But why?’ You asked him, he looked confused.
‘Why would you love me?’ You asked and he looked down, smirking slightly.
‘Because your perfect.
‘G, I’m broken. I am far from perfect.’ You said as you finished the water and set the glass down.
‘You’re not broken.’
‘G…’ you trailed off as he rubbed his hand speaking back up.
‘Your perfect to me. Do you remember the first time we met?’ He asked you and you smiled slightly, nodding. Remembering the day clearly.
It was a case you been working on for a while now, you were determined to capture him since he killed your partner. You had been following Andrew Murphy and had found his hide out. You looked around and noticed a Camaro that had been following you. You got out the car and walked over to it, chapping on the window.
‘Hi, can I help you?’ Deeks asked.
‘Yes, sir. You see my car has broken down and I don’t know anything about it.’ You said leaning over the car.
‘How bout I come and help you?’ He asked and you looked at him.
‘Really? That be so kind.’ You said sweetly. He leant to the side to unbuckle his seatbelt, but this opened up his handcuffs. You grabbed them and chained him to the door handle. You smirked and he looked shocked at you. You walked around to the other side and opened the door.
‘Sorry.’ You said to him as you put the windows up and took the keys shutting the engine off. You closed the door and locked the car.
You left him in the car and went back to your car waiting for the other Agent to come out. When you saw him, you flagged him down. You waved your hand’s and caught his attention.
‘Excuse me could you help me please?’ You asked and he nodded seeing that you were in ‘distress’.
‘What’s the problem?’ He asked politely.
‘It’s not starting.’ You said with a fake pout. He nodded and checked the car out.
‘Could you pop the hood please?’ He said and you nodded. Leaning in the car and popping the hood for him. You followed him around to the front, you watched as he placed his hand’s at either side of the bonnet.
‘Nothing seems to be wrong.’ He said and you took the limited time to cuff him to the car. He looked up as you connected him to the engine.
‘Sorry, but he’s mine.’ You said and made your way into the warehouse.
You walked out of the warehouse fifteen minutes later, with two men handcuffed. You walked over to the agent that was tied in your car.
‘You can take him.’ You said handing him Tom Cole.
‘I need him too.’ He said pointing to Andrew Murphy. You shook your head.
‘Sorry no can do.’ You said calmly.
‘Your intervening in a Naval case.’ He said as you reached into your pocket and got the keys for his partner and handed them to him.
‘There for him and FBI is higher than Naval, plus he killed my partner. I get him.’ You said as you pushed Murphy into the car. You got into it and drove off.
‘Yeah, you weren’t too happy.’ You said smiling, recalling the memory.
‘I was okay, just shocked but I still think Deeks holds you for that.’ Callen said and you chuckled.
‘Probably.’ You replied and lay back down as Callen took his spot beside you, wrapping an arm around your waist and brung you close to him. His nose was pressed against the base of your neck, pressing small kiss at random times until you both feel asleep.
