1. “We’re not just friends and you fucking know it.”
2. “Please don’t cry. I can’t stand to see you cry”
7. “I hate how much I love you”
You were sat on the edge of Eggsy’s bed, watching him pack and trying not to wince at the careless way that absolutely nothing was folded neatly. He’d better hope there was a laundry service at wherever he was staying, as you knew how bloody useless he was at ironing. You could see it now, picturing him with perfect clarity going undercover as some billionaire in a huge mansion with creases on his shirt. You smiled at the thought, which Eggsy noticed, being the first time you had smiled since he invited you over to say your goodbyes.
“What’re you grinning at? Finally realising that you’re finally gonna get some peace and quiet around here?”
You rolled your eyes, the smile disappearing at how light-hearted he was taking his act of leaving you again.
“No. Just thinking about how useless you are. Sit down, let me pack for you. You’re going to look ridiculous if your clothes look like they’ve been packed by a seven-year-old.”
Eggsy held his hands up in mock surrender, taking a step back from his suitcase and gesturing for you to continue, “If you think you can do a better job, you go ahead, love.”
You did so, trying to ignore the fact that Eggsy had just called you ‘love’. It happened often enough for it not to be anything special, but with how anxious you were feeling at the thought of your best friend going on yet another life-threatening mission, the pet name left an ache in your chest. You pushed through it, folding up the shirts and rolling up the ties neatly and silently, trying your absolute hardest not to show the emotion you were feeling. Eggsy knew how much you hated him leaving, but his answers never really helped. It was awful and selfish, but you didn’t care about the ‘greater good’ he always told you about; not if it meant losing him.
Neither of you said a word as you zipped up the bag, refusing to sit next to him for your own petty reasons, which resulted in you awkwardly standing opposite him, arms folded and lips pursed into an almost childish pout. Eggsy looked up at you, sighing.
“Y/n, come on... This can’t be our goodbye. I don’t know when I’ll be back, could be months.”
You didn’t move, nor speak, nor look up from staring at your fingers, which were fidgeting with the sleeves of the hoodie you had stolen from Eggsy about three years ago.
He waited for an answer, until it became too uncomfortable and he stood, hand reaching out to touch yours and guide your fingers away before your anxieties tore a hole through the faded fabric of the hoodie. You flinched, pulling away and stepping further backwards. Even the possibility of his touch, and the thoughts that this could be the last time, brought that lump into your throat you just couldn’t swallow down. Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, which you wiped away with your sleeve furiously. Everything started bubbling up: every emotion, every thought, every unspoken word rising up like bile in your throat until it was near impossible to keep it down. You had to get out of that room, Eggsy’s bedroom which held so many memories and ‘almosts’ and ‘what ifs’ that may never be answered, all because Eggsy was off again to lay down his life.
You turned on your heel, trying to dart past Eggsy and out of his bedroom door, mumbling “Good luck.”. Your efforts were useless, Eggsy managing to grab you by the wrist.
“Oi, where do you think you’re going? Hardly the goodbye I should be getting from my best frie-”
“Best friend? Best friend? You’re still clinging onto that?” You spat out, instantly regretting it, but finding that now you’d opened the subject, there was absolutely no way of going back.
“What’re you saying, y/n?” He replied, you finally meeting his eyes with your own in enough time to see his brows to knit together. He knew exactly what you meant. You knew him too well, and you knew his expression of faux confusion. You had seen the real thing in far too many biology classes. This definitely wasn’t it.
You scoffed, pulling your wrist back from him.
“You know exactly what I mean. You’re leaving, Eggsy. Again. You’re leaving me and you might never fucking come back and you’re really okay with leaving as my ‘best friend’?”
“I don’t know what you-”
“We’re not just friends and you fucking know it, Egs...”
He looked like he was going to argue back, but had nothing to say. He knew you were right. You had been best friends since you were teenagers, but lately, things had been changing. Maybe it was because he was in constant danger, and both of you had realised how little you could stand to lose the other, that you had started to get brave. The occasional kiss you’d blame on the alcohol and never mention again, the times you’d be hanging out and Eggsy’s hand would somehow end up on your thigh, the times you’d go to the pub without even asking your other mates, all of it had lead to a vast dynamic change between the two of you. It felt like it was leading up to something special, and yet he was too bloody stubborn to admit it.
Or so you thought.
“Y/n... Please... Please don’t cry. I can’t stand to see you cry.”
This time, you didn’t pull away when he reached out, letting him get closer. He stopped before he actually touched you, though, which you found oddly frustrating. You didn’t know when you had properly started crying, but it had happened. And looking into Eggsy’s eyes, you could see that they were glazed too, which was a foreign, weird and rare sight for you.
You expected him to respond to what you had actually said, recognise the existence of an actual thing between you two for the first time, but he just stayed still, hand hovering just above your arm, frozen in the air.
You were the one to move first, lifting your arm until it made contact with his hand. You stepped forwards, so slowly it felt as if time had stopped, getting closer and closer to the kingsman, closing the space between you two. Your heart was pounding, much harder than you thought was healthy. You could barely breathe, waiting for Eggsy to show some sign of... well, anything.
His arms eventually wrapped around you, hand reaching for your hair as he shushed you, calming the sobs you couldn’t stop yourself. His body twitched next to yours and you knew he was crying too.
“Egs...” You whispered, moving your head until your lips were a breath away from his. You were so close, this was the moment that everything had been leading up to...
“We can’t, y/n.”
It felt as if your heart had dropped three floors down. The crying stopped and your breath got stuck in your throat. You pulled back, not knowing what the hell to do or say.
“..Right. Yeah. Of course. Good luck, Eggsy. Be careful out there.” You said, stepping back and actually making it to the door this time, throwing it open so it hit the wall with a rather loud thud that caused you to flinch before you stormed out of his bedroom and towards his front door.
You heard a sigh.
“Y/n, wait!” He called after you, following you out and beating you to the front door, standing in front of it.
“Get out of my way, Eggsy. Let me go.”
“No. I... I can’t leave without... Urgh- fuck!” He shouted, screwing up his face in frustration as he turned and punched the wall.
“Eggsy, what the fuck?!”“I love you, alright?! I fucking love you so much, more than anything. I hate how much I love you, because I can’t love you. If we were together, I’d be putting you in danger. I’ve... I’ve fucking lost everyone, y/n. I can’t lose you too.”
You were speechless. Completely and utterly speechless, frozen in the hallway of the man you loved, of the man who loved you back, unable to do anything about it because it would risk your life.
And suddenly, that seemed worth it.
You closed the space between the pair of you, hands meeting Eggsy’s cheeks to cup his face as you pressed your lips against his passionately, feeling everything in the universe around you fit into place, and then melt away.
Eggsy matched the passion and the fire, gripping onto any part of you he could. Starting with your hair, making his way to your shoulders, chest and hips, reaching around your back to pull you, if possible, even closer.
“Y/n, I-I...”“I know, Egs... I know. But... Let’s forget about that, just for now, okay? Just enjoy what we can before you have to leave. Please...”
Summary: Basically if you ever saw Kingsman, it is the openingish scene where Eggsy knicked Rot’s car. Except the reader does and jealousy and all fun bullshit because I can’t summarize for shit.
A/N: Trying to get back into writing, enjoy???? Request pleaseeeee. THX.
You showed up to his apartment just as he opened the door to leave. He jumped a little, but a smile rested on his face. Your smile matched his. He turned around to lock the door.
“You wanna join me to the pub?” Eggsy asked you. You nodded and walked in silence next to him. The cold nipped at your barely exposed shoulders.
Eggsy was freezing himself, but he knew to always offer a woman his coat if they were ever cold. So that’s exactly what he didn’t do. “Ya know, you steal my coats so often that I’m surprised you aren’t wearing one of them.”
“Oh, fuck off,” you laugh, shoving him with your shoulder. You crossed your arms to retain at least a little body heat. Eggsy rolled his eyes and gave it, putting his jacket over your shoulders. “Thanks,” you put your arms through his sleeves.
“No problem, love,” he smiled.
You two make your way to the pub to be greeted by your other two friends, Ryan, and Jamal. They already had their pints in their hands, so you go over to the bar to order you and Eggsy one as he said hi to the guys. You later joined, handing the drink to Eggsy.
You four were enjoying your drinks and recalling the funniest blackout memories of each other. Currently, you and Ryan were recalling an interesting argument between Eggsy and Jamal on your question you asked them when they were absolutely plastered.
“Oh, what about the “yes” incident?” Ryan asked. Your eyes widened and you started getting hyped.
“Oh yeah, I remember. They had a few before they got to the party you and I were throwing back at our flat,” you recalled, “And I was talking about spelling the word yes. Y E S spells yes so what does E Y E S spell and Eggsy and Jamal were going at it for an hour.”
Jamal scoffed, “It was not an hour.”
“Yes it was, Ryan timed it,” You laughed at the boy’s expense.
“Okay, how do you expect two fucked bruv’s to know about to spell eyes?” Eggsy mumbled, playfully.
“Ryan could and he’s dumber than Dean,” You answered.
“What about Dean?” Dean’s goons come up with a couple of pints themselves. You guys stop smiling and laughing at the sight of the ugly twats.
“Nothing,” Jamal said quickly. He downed his drink soon afterward. It was a thing where they would show up and you guys had to go. You, however, had a brilliant idea.
“Fuck off now,” Rottweiler growled. You rolled your eyes, but you got up and put your arms around his waist. Eggsy sucked in a sharp breath. Jamal and Ryan watched with amusement.
Ryan and Jamal knew you both had feelings for each other. Everyone including each other knew that you had feelings for each other, but neither addressed it. You two seemed to enjoy the Cat and Mouse game you both played. However, everyone in that pub knew that if you didn’t get your hands off of Rot in five seconds that Eggsy would make sure that Rot would not see the light of day tomorrow.
You, knowing this, ignored his glaring. You were trying to do something. “Ah, Y/N, how may I help you?” He flirted. You wanted to gag but kept your hands running up and down the sides of his body to keep him distracted.
“Mhm, just wanted to feel you up a bit,” you winked. As soon as he went to put his hands on your waist, you backed up and drank the last of your beer. “See ya later.”
You all walked out of the pub, leaving a horny Rot back in there. Eggsy grabbed your arm to turn you around and question why you even did that. You saw the hurt look that you so desperately didn’t want to see. He opened his mouth to yell at you, but you held up car keys. None of you have a car.
“You knicked his fucking keys?” Jamal questioned. You nodded with a smirk. Eggsy grabbed the keys and kissed your cheek.
“Don’t ever do that again,” he growled. You scoffed.
“Or what?” You responded cheekily, getting into the passenger side of the car. Ryan and Jamal get into the back and Eggsy gets into the driver side.
As soon as he started the car, he blasted music and started doing donuts in the parking lot. Rot soon came out shouting to get out of the car, but Eggsy just took off. Not long after, cops showed up and chased you guys down the road. Eggsy was doing a lot of crazy stunts while driving.
It got to a point where Eggsy swerved to avoid hitting an animal and crashed the car. Jamal and Ryan were yelling at Eggsy for not hitting the animal and to escape, but he yelled at them to get out of the car. He also told you to get out of the car.
“Eggsy, I stole the keys, you can’t go to jail for this,” You tried to argue.
“Might as well, what else do I have?” he asked, knowing the answer, but it still stung you. You get out of the car and run out with Jamal and Ryan. You turn around to see Eggsy ram the car into the cop’s car.
Eggsy refused to reveal none of your names to the detective. He sat in silence. The detective eventually gave up and walked out of the room. That’s when he made the call that got him out.
He went around outside, still in shock, only to be in even more shock to a person, you, running into his arms. He grips you close to him so that you don’t fall and you swing your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck. You smash your lips against his, angrily.
“Don’t ever fucking do that again,” you said after kissing him a while. He kissed you again, deepening it with a content sigh.
“I won’t,” he mumbled. Your lips stay connected as if it was the only way to breath. However, this glorious moment was ruined by a man who had a black umbrella and square glasses.
“Eggsy?” He broke up your guy’s kiss. Eggsy, unwillingly, stopped kissing you and put you down. His arm immediately snaked around your waist. “May I speak to you in private?”
You have been a Kingsman Agent for five years now, you didn’t often meet the new recruits due to your job but this year it changed. When Valentine tries to take over the world.
Characters – Eggsy x Reader (eventually), Roxy, Merlin, Harry and Valentine.
Word Count - 2701
‘Merlin.’ You said as you walked up the grass embankment. He looked past the three recruits that remained. You walked past them paying them no attention as you handed him the tablet.
‘Galahad needs to see you.’ You told him.
‘Can it wait?’ He asked, you shook your head.
‘I’ll take care of them. Don’t worry.’ You told him, he nodded before headed back to where you came from. You were looking at their results on the tablet, before looking up.
‘And what’s your name, Princess?’ Charlie asked you, you looked him dead in the eye.
‘It’s November.’ You said, he stared at you for a second before nodding.
‘Good.’
‘Very well scores, landing in the target, and a new record.’ You said as you looked at each other.
‘You’re dismissed. Head back to your quarters.’ Roxy and Charlie left but Eggsy remained.
‘Is there a problem agent?’ You quizzed.
‘Yeah there is. Am I just your disposable toy you can fling away?’ He complained, you clutched the tablet to your chest and stood up taller.
‘First off, don’t use that tone with me. Secondly, if you have a complaint you came and tell it to me quietly in my ear.’ You told him, his eyebrows creased, and he stepped forward.
‘I’m fed up of being the lacky around here.’ He said, you leaned closer to him. Your lips almost touching his ear.
‘You better stop thinking it’s about you. You need to loosen up more.’ You said as you reached behind him, you could see him take a quick breath in. you pulled the pin and his parachute came out pulling him back. He groaned when he hit the ground.
‘Get of your ass agent.’ You said as you started the short walk back to the compond.it wasn’t long until he joined you at your side holding the parachute rolled up into a ball.
‘How long you been here then?’ He questioned you, you turned your head and smiled.
’5 years.’ You told him, he whistled.
‘Long time away from your family.’
‘Don’t have any family, that why I was recruited.’ You said, he watched you.
‘What age did they take you in at?’
‘My eighteenth birthday.’ You said as you arrived at the doors, you allowed him to go ahead of you.
‘How’s he doing?’ You asked as you watched him fight against the ropes.
‘Passing with flying colours just now.’ Merlin told you honestly, you nodded.
‘You like him?’ Merlin questioned, you looked up from the computers.
‘Yeah, he reminds me of me when I first joined.’ You told him, he smiled and nodded his head remembering the trouble you caused when you first joined. You looked back to the computers, switching between them and the tablets.
The door opened, and you looked up.
‘Roxy.’ You greeted her.
‘Well done.’ You said with a smile, she nodded.
‘Thanks November.’ She said, you looked at her and nodded.
‘Call me Y/N.’ you told her, Roxy smiled wider and the door opened again.
‘Eggsy. Congrats.’ Merlin said, you were about to congratulate him when the tablet pinged. Looking down and reading the information, your heart dropped. You stood up and grabbed the single tablet before walking out.
‘Where are you going?’ Merlin questioned. Your grip tightened on the tablet.
‘I need to talk to Arthur. Tell me how Charlie does will you?’ You asked, they hesitantly nodded and watched as you took off down the hill. You stopped at the bottom of the hall and turned the signal off on the tablet, so they couldn’t trace it.
‘Arthur.’ You said as you pushed open the door to the dining room.
‘Ah November what can I help you with?’ He asked, you walked straight over to him and placed the tablet in front of him.
‘Is it true?’ You asked him.
‘What?’ He questioned, taking a sip off the scotch in front of him.
‘That you’re working for Valentine?’ You quizzed him, when he didn’t answer, you had it.
‘How long?’ You asked him.
‘2 months.’ He replied, you rubbed your forehead.
‘Who else knows?’ He asked you. You set the tablet down, taking your ring off your finger, sitting it on top of the tablet.
‘Just me.’ You said truthfully, he crossed his hands and watched you.
‘Let me say goodbye to everyone first. Then I’ll come back.’ You said to him, he nodded. You turned around and left the room, playing with your empty finger.
‘Y/N.’ You heard Roxy say, you turned to her and smiled.
‘Where’s Eggsy.’ You asked, she turned to him. he turned around and you motioned for him to come over. He excused himself and made his way over to you.
‘In need to go away for a while but I need you to listen to me carefully.’ You said, they looked confused but nodded.
‘The next gun that you need to shoot it blank.’ You told them, Merlin and Harry watching you. Noticing a change in your behaviour.
‘The thought of doing it is going to fill you with dread but pull the trigger.’ You warned them. you didn’t give them a chance to say anything before you were walking over to Harry and Merlin.’
‘What’s wrong?’
‘I need to go away on a job. If I’m not back by tomorrow check my account, you found me by. There’s information you need to know.’ You said. They nodded, and you turned around fastening your jacket and out into the hall. Eggsy and Roxy looked at Merlin and Harry, before they signalled, and they headed out.
‘Somethings not right.’
‘What do you mean not right?’ Eggsy questioned, Merlin was typing quickly before a video was shown on the big screen. They all turned and watched it.
‘This is Y/N’s personal camera, installed into her broch.’ Merlin stated, they watched as you brung you hand up and played with your empty finger.
‘She’s missing her ring.’ Harry stated, Roxy and Eggsy looked at him.
‘A Kingsman, never take their rings off. Unless they have been fired or compromised.’ Merlin said, they watched closer as you pushed open the door and stepped in. A man appeared in front of you.
‘Did you say bye?’ The man asked, his voice echoing throughout the speakers. The camera moving up and down, steadily with your breathing.
‘Yes.’ Was all you replied. He nodded as he reached behind his back, producing a gun.
‘he says he’s sorry.’ He told you, no sympathy in his voice.
‘No, he’s not.’ You replied, he aimed the gun at your chest.
‘You’re right.’ He said, pulling the trigger, you fell back, and the camera faced the ceiling before it went black. Roxy’s hand was covering her mouth, a silent tear falling down her cheek. Eggsy’s hands were in his hair, pulling tightly as his face became red. Whist Harry and Merlin had their eyes closed and their heads lowered.
‘You need to get on a laptop and so I can connect.’ Merlin said, into Eggsy’s ear. He looked around the one.
‘Found one.’ He muttered, making his way up the stairs.
‘Hi, how did you get connected?’ He asked.
‘I tried but I couldn’t.’ Eggsy explained. The man smiled.
‘It’s a closed network.’ He explained. Eggsy smiled and placed the glass down. Pulling his shirt sleeve back to look at his watch.
‘You don’t happen to have the time? My watch is still on my countries.’ Eggsy asked, he smiled and checked his watch as Eggsy pressed a button. A tranquiliser flew out and landed in his neck. Eggsy was quick to slid him over and place a USB into the computer.
‘Eggsy, pleasure to see you again.’ He heard, he looked up and glared at Charlie, until they landed on you. He looked between the two of you and watched as Charlie shoved you into the booth.
‘I wouldn’t do anything stupid or she gets hurt.’ Charlie said as he brung a knife out his jacket. You only sighed and looked bored, shaking your head as he pressed it to the side of your neck.
‘No wonder, you never made it as a Kingsman.’ You commented, Eggsy smirked as you nodded at him.
‘Excuse you?’ He asked, you fully turned to him, the pressed to the font of your neck.
‘Well, you’re arrogant, selfish, think you know it all, believe your more handsome than everyone else. Oh, what else?’ You tapped your chin. He snarled and leaned over you, using his weight against you. You could see Eggsy watching you, you raised your free hand onto the table and he placed an item into your hand. You smiled as you felt it.
‘What are you smiling about?’ He questioned, you only smiled more. He climbed out the booth, dragging you behind him.
‘valentine. I’ve got you two spies.’ He shouted. You watched as everyone turned to watch you.
‘Wrong move.’ You said as you reached your arm around him. pressing the ring to his head. Once he stopped shaking, you turned to him and gave him a punch to the nose, knocking him unconscious.
‘Come on let’s go.’ Eggsy said, taking your hand.
‘It’s not done.’ You told him, then the clocks dropped for an hour to two minutes. You looked up to see Valentine working on the machine.
‘You need to get everyone of here. Go get the prisoners.’ You told him.
‘I can’t leave you here.’ He replied.
‘I’ll meet you back at the plane.’ You compromised, he nodded before taking off. You moved into the seat and started typing away.
‘Merlin?’ You questioned, not knowing if he could here you through the speakers.
‘Y/N?’ He replied, you smiled when you heard his voice.
‘If I get his hand off will you be able to use the small chips that are in their necks to do something?’ You asked him. There was a short period of silence.
‘Yes, but it wouldn’t nice.’
‘I never asked for nice.’ You told him. You lifted the gun that Eggsy left behind. Checking it had bullets, you aimed at the glass and started shooting, everyone ducked including Valentine and Gazelle.
‘Now Merlin.’ You said, there was silence before everyone’s heads started to explode. As they all started popping, you watched as the headless bodies fell to the ground un moving.
‘You really thought I’d be stupid enough to put a chip in myself?’ He questioned, his voice going through the speaker. You turned to face him, before checking the gun which had no bullets left. Only then you noticed that Gazelle was missing, as the cool metal pressed to the back of your neck.
‘Come quietly.’ She said into your ear. She guided you thought the lifeless crowd and into the box where Valentine was sitting. He smiled widely as you appeared.
‘Ah agent November.’ He greeted you. His hand still resting on the screen, you noticed Gazelle lowered the blade, as she looked at the ever-growing red map.
‘Now agent. It’d be a shame if November here were to, I don’t know, have her throat slit.’ He said, knowing Eggsy has heard it. He moved a finger and Gazelle had the blade up at your face, catching your cheek on purpose. She watched in enjoyment as a small trickle of blood fell from it.
The windows were being shot at within minutes, Gazelle ran and covered Valentine as you covered your own head.
‘I’ll sort him out.’ She told Valentine and she jumped out the window. The two of you stood up.
‘What you gonna do now that your bodyguard’s away.’ You teased him. he smiled as he looked at the almost read map.
‘No worries. It’s almost done.’ He said, you could hear the gunshots and the sound of metal clanging down below.
‘You’re right.’ You said before you ran at him, stepping onto the desk and grabbed his shoulders. You both fell out the window.
You landed on top of him and you both groaned, but as you rolled off him you noticed the sharp bit of glass in his chest.
‘Y/N? You good?’ Eggsy asked, you looked at him and then to Gazelle that was lying on the ground. You then looked back at him, taking in his ruffled hair and bruises that were already forming on his cheeks. You gave him a thumb up and sat back, hands resting on your thighs.
‘You’re bleeding.’ He said, as he came to your side.
‘It’s not mine. It’s his.’ You told him, and he relaxed slightly.
‘Did you get everyone out?’ You asked him, he shook his head.
‘No, there’s still some to get.’ He said, you nodded and pushed yourself up onto your feet.
‘Right let’s go.’ You said, he nodded and took off down the hallway. You hissed when you stepped forward and your hand fell to your stomach. Pulling up the top the dark blood, slowly poured out the wound. You tucked your top in before catching up to him and guided everyone out of the cells. Guiding the last person out, you stumbled, and they turned to you.
‘Are you good?’ He questioned you, you took a deep breath and stood up, nodding your head. When you moved your hand off the wall their eyes snapped to the bloody hand print.
‘Your hurt.’
‘I’ll be fine, we need to get you out of here.’ You said taking a couple of steps forward, your vision becoming blurry.
‘Sir.’ The man shouted and Eggsy turned around along with everyone else.
‘She’s not well.’ The man said, Eggsy turned and started walking towards you but it turned into a jog when he saw you lose your footing completely.
‘Y/N.’ he breathed out, managing to catch your head before it hit the ground. He scooped you up and ushered everyone out and onto the plane. Merlin standing at the door way.
‘What happened?’ He questioned, Eggsy shook his head. Setting you down on the couch, he pulled your blood covered top up. He and Merlin hissed when they saw the wound.
When you opened your eyes, you looked around the plain white room coming across Roy standing in the door way.
‘You’re awake.’ She said with a smile.
‘he hasn’t left you side. You know, been here the full week.’ She told you and you turned to your right, noticing Eggsy sitting in the chair, legs spread apart as he slept peacefully. The stubble forming on his cheeks and his messy hair, hidden by a hat.
‘When we thought we had lost you. He took it the hardest, it took both Merlin and Harry to calm him down.’ She explained, and you looked back at her. Her phone dinged, and she looked at it before looking back at you.
‘I’d best be going. I’ll see you later.’ She said, you agreed.
You turned onto your side and watched Eggsy and watched as he took steady breaths.
‘It’s rude to stare, love.’ He said, you smiled slightly as he opened his eyes.
‘It’s rude to listen to other people’s conservations.’ You retorted, he shrugged his shoulders.
‘Not when it’s about me.’ He said. He sat up and looked at you, suddenly making your feel self-conscious.
‘You scared us. All of u.’ He told you truthfully.
‘I’m sorry.’ You said as you turned onto your back, wincing at the pain. Your hand resting on it, feeling the stitches through the nightgown.
‘Seventy-eight stitches, and a three-hour surgery.’ He said, from beside you.
‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ He questioned.
‘I didn’t want to distract you. I’m officially dead anyway. It wouldn’t have made a difference.’ You said, he ran his hands through his hair.
‘It would have.’ He said as he watched you, you turned to look at him.
‘Merlin and Harry would have lost their daughter, they did lose you and it wrecked them.’ he explained.
‘Roxy would have lost a sister and a role model she looks up to.’ He continued.
‘And I would have…’ He trailed off.
‘What would you have lost?’ You asked him, he looked up and meet your stare.
‘I would have lost the person I love.’ He admitted.
Summary: A mission gone wrong and too many shots can lead to unfortunate – but unregrettable – situations
Warnings: swearing, not really smut, unrealistically cute fluff
A/N: Extension of this drabble – also, apologies to my mobile followers, I still haven’t found way to fix the loss of dividers
Voices buzzed dully around you. Blurry sentences faded in and out of focus. Images from the night flashed behind your eyes. A gentle hand on your knee sent adrenaline through your system and the room snapped into focus. The hand tightened softly before disappearing. Electronic files covered the screen at the front of the room. Merlin stood at the head of the table, still talking, but you didn’t hear his voice as you read the last line of the newly closed case.
Female D.O.A.
“…not the ending we expected, or wanted.” Merlin paused, sighing and leaning forward, the palms of his hands pressed against the table. The screen behind him darkened. He took the folder in front of him off the table and tucked it inside his briefcase. “Go on,” he nodded toward the door behind you. “Get out of here you three. I’ll see you all Monday.”
Roxy stood up without hesitation, leaving her open notebook on the table. The room began to fade from your focus again before the same hand rested on your shoulder. “Come on, (Y/n),” Eggsy said, a weak smile on his face when your eyes met his. “It’s time to go.” He took hold of your elbow and pulled you from your chair.
Shaking your head in an attempt to clear it, you followed your partners from the room and into the hall. “Rox!” Eggsy called out, taking a few steps ahead of you. Roxy turned to face you when she heard his voice, leaning against the wall to wait until you both reached her. “Up for a drink? I think all of us could one.”
“Not tonight, Eggsy,” she said, shaking her head softly. “I’ve got a bottle of whiskey and an old film waiting for me at my flat.” She turned before she finished, walking away before he could beg her into coming anyway.
“Just us then,” Eggsy said, winking at you before he began to walk again.
You laughed dismissively, but followed a few paces behind him.“Rox’s quiet night doesn’t sound like such a terrible idea to me,” you argued, hoping he would give up before he started – you both knew it wouldn’t take much to convince you, even if all you felt like doing was wallowing at home.
“Come on, (Y/n). Please? There’s a pub by my place. We’ll start with drinks and if you still want a quiet night it’s not a long walk to my flat.” Eggsy had taken hold of your wrists as he spoke, walking backwards and pulling you out of the building. “Anyway, I don’t want you to be alone.” He tacked the words onto his argument in a whisper, and you weren’t sure if you were even meant to hear, but concern laced his voice and your resolve crumbled.
His eyes pleaded with you and you pressed your lips together, pretending to think for a moment longer. “You’re paying for the cab.”
The vodka burned its way down your throat and you set the shot glass back on the bar. “This was a good idea, Eggs,” you said, setting your hand on his shoulder. “Gettin’ drunk was a good idea.”
“You alright, love?” he asked, laughing as you leaned against him. He had taken the first few shots with you, but had always prefered whiskey to vodka. Your head fell onto his shoulder and his hand found your knee.
Sitting up as suddenly as you leaned against him, you set your head in your hands and your elbows on the bar. “Absolutely fantastic,” you answered him firmly, and the warmth of his fingers disappeared. “I’m out drinking with you! What could be better?”
“A quiet night a bottle of whiskey?” he teased, and you rolled your eyes, hitting his shoulder.
“Don’t like quiet nights, but a bottle of whiskey doesn’t sound too bad. Go get it for me?” You bit your lip when you asked, batting your eyelashes at him.
“What’ll you give me?” he asked, leaning forward and raising his eyebrows.
“My eternal and undying love, Eggsy,” you said, managing to keep your face straight as you spoke. “If it’s really good whiskey, maybe you’ll get lucky,” you teased, dissolving into giggles. He shook his head at you, drunk enough that his usual quick retort was lost amid the haze, and stood up.
Eggsy set his hand on your knee and squeezed gently, winking before walking away and toward the man at the other end of the bar. A flash caught your attention and you glanced down at your phone, quickly replying to the message from Roxy. With Eggsy gone, you continued to focus on your phone, scrolling through the meaningless trivia that filled the Kingsmen files.
“What’s a girl like you doing in a place like this?” a voice asked.
You didn’t look up from your phone to acknowledge whoever had spoken. “Wondering what a man like you is doing using such a pathetic line.”
“Trying to pick up the prettiest girl I’ve seen in days.”
Taking a calming breath, you locked your phone and reluctantly looked at the man. He wasn’t much older than you. His jacket was too big and his pants too small. A golden beer sat on the bar beside him. “Flattered, but no.” Your eyes scanned the pub in search of Eggsy, unable to find the physical or mental energy to fend off the man in front of you.
“How can you say no when you haven’t even give me a chance?” he asked, and you closed your eyes, the alcohol buzzing through your system leaving you with little patience.
“Because a girl like me isn’t in a place like this looking for a guy like you.”
You heard him step closer to you, but didn’t flinch or move away. Eggsy would be back soon. He had a habit of saving you. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
A familiar gentle hand rested on your shoulder and you smiled, relaxing into the touch and opening your eyes again. “You deaf, bruv? It means she’s not interested.”
“Mind your own business, mate,” the man snarled, eyes narrowing. You felt Eggsy’s fingers tense on your shoulder.
He trailed his hand down your spine until it rested against the small of your back and stepped close enough that his chest pressed to your back. “She is my business and she’s not interested, mate.” You leaned back into Eggsy and his hand trailed up your back and rested against your neck, fingers playing gently with your hair.
The man didn’t move.
“Babe? Let’s find a table?” You looked up at Eggsy.
“Yeah,” he tore his eyes slowly from the man and met yours. “Have Maggie bring our drinks?” The man behind the bar nodded at the question directed at him. He wrapped his arm around your waist when you stood up, tucking you into his side while your hand rested against his chest. Eggsy led you to a booth near the door, waiting for you to sit near the wall before he sat down beside you.
“Surprised you didn’t break his nose,” Eggsy almost laughed as he broke the silence.
“I knew you were coming back, Eggs – figured waiting was better than getting you barred from your favorite pub,” you said with a shrug and Eggsy shook his head. A young woman with red hair set two drinks on the table in front of you.
“Here I was assuming you’d found yourself a replacement.” He didn't smile, but dim teasing still lit up his eyes as he took a slow sip of the drink on the table.
“Replace you? Why would I want to do that?” You set your hand on his arm as you mocked him. He was warmer than you remembered. “Anyway, Merlin would have my arse if I got rid of you. He’s grown a bit attached.”
Eggsy laughed, his eyes finally lighting up. “If anyone could get away with it, it’d be you. You always were his favorite.” Your hand was still on his arm and he rested his own on your knee. “I’m pretty sure you’re Roxy’s favorite too.”
Heat had spread throughout your body when his hand had rested against your knee and there was enough liquor clouding your thoughts to loosen your tongue. His hand slid up your thigh. “And you?” You didn’t look away as you asked. Your hand trailed up to his bicep.
“Love, you know you’re my favorite.” He was speaking quietly. You rested your other hand on the bench beside his leg.
“I really thought it was Merlin.” You nodded as you spoke. Humor sparked behind his eyes. Fire spread through you as his free hand came to your waist.
“Nah, you’re more my type.” His nose bumped yours when he spoke. You tilted your head in questioning.
“Isn’t your type blonde and disposable?” Your fingers brushed against his jeans before moving onto his leg.
“My type is you.”
He tasted bitter when he kissed you, like the beer he’d been drinking. Your hand tightened on his arm. His kiss was insistent and urgent. A quiet voice in the back of your mind reminded you what a horrible idea this was, but the alcohol and his hand still sliding up your thigh drowned it out.
His hand moved up your waist, pulling your shirt with it, and his fingers brushed against your skin, sending shivers through you. With that small touch, his fingers flexed against you before sliding beneath your shirt. He traced past your hip, and you turned toward him, struggling to get closer past the table. Your heart was erratic when he pulled away, beginning to trail his lips down your jaw and toward your neck. You managed to breath his name, struggling to focus.
You trailed your hands up his chest slowly, surprised to feel him shiver beneath your touch. The hand beneath your shirt pressed higher and your breath caught. “Eggsy,” you whispered, moving your hands to his cheeks. He hummed in acknowledgement, but instead pressed his lips back against yours, dragging your bottom lips between his teeth. Reluctantly pulling away, you pressed against his shoulder, pushing him toward the edge of the booth you were sitting in.
Quick to understand, he took your hand, tugging you out of the booth. Digging through his pocket, he tossed money onto the table as he lead you through the pub and toward the door. “Ta, Mags,” he mumbled, not waiting for her to respond as he desperately dragged you outside. The cold air woke you as much as his hands had, and you breathed in the smell of London.
Eggsy pulled you down the street, and you stumbled, your laughter bouncing through the small alley. He turned at the sound, backing you against a wall and grabbing your waist as he hovered his lips over yours. You tilted your head to kiss him and he pulled your hips closer to him in response. His hand tangled in your hair, keeping your head away from the brick as he forced the rest of you against it.
His name fell from your lips in a quiet plea. Forcing yourself to focus, you traced your hands down his sides and slid your hand into his back pocket to grab hold of his keys. He reached after you as you pulled away, shaking his head and laughing as you dangled his keys in front of him. “I thought your flat wasn't a long walk?”
“First time it’s ever been too long.” He reached out for your waist, but you danced away from his him, tossing him his keys before walking toward his flat.
Quiet thunder pulled you from sleep, the once terrifying sound now familiar and relaxing. It was always raining in London. Despite the clouds, it was bright enough outside to light the room through the thin fabric curtains. You opened your eyes slowly, content to lie in bed until you were forced out of it. Confusion leaked into your thoughts. There wasn't a fan on your ceiling.
Carefully sitting up in bed, your head pounding, you glanced around the room you recognized. You had bought the antique chair for his birthday; you were in the only picture framed on his wall. Your mind stuttered to a half as your eyes landed on the naked body beside you.
Shit.
Holding your breath, you crawled cautiously from your closest friend's bed, desperate not to wake him. You underwear hung over the back of his chair, your pants lay in a pile at the foot of his bed, and your shirt was nowhere in sight. His breathing deepened and he rolled across the bed. Panic setting in, you frantically grabbed a random shirt from his closed and hurried silently from his room.
Sound of moving came from his room and your heart raced. You pulled his old football jersey over your head, hastily maneuvering around the couch you had helped move into his apartment and through the kitchen you had helped organize. The door to his room creaked open and you slipped out into the London air, barely aware of the rain that soon soaked through the borrowed shirt.
Knocking echoed through your small apartment and dread seeped into your bones. You closed your eyes and took a steadying breath, knowing it was him without opening the door. Longing to postpone the inevitable confrontation as long as you could, you took small and deliberate steps across the room. He stood in your doorway in an old button up and jeans, his hair disheveled and wet. Heat unwillingly filled your cheeks as his eyes met yours and the image of him sleeping naked as you snuck away flashed through your mind. "Forget your umbrella, Eggsy?"
"Tell me you need me."
"What?" you stammered, your feet moving you away from him without your mind's consent. He followed you out of the rain, closing the door behind him.
"Tell me you need me," he repeated, "like you told me last night."
The fan on his ceiling spun in lazy, steady circles. Rain against the roof lulled you closer to sleep. His fingers traced nonsense patterns against your bare hip. He placed a sloppy kiss against your shoulder. "You're fucking beautiful, d'you know that?"
There was enough vodka left in your system to still haze your mind and you giggled, burying your face against his side. "You're one to talk."
His chest shook as he laughed silently, kissing the nearest skin he could reach. Eggsy sighed in contentment, grabbing hold of your waist and rolling you on top of him. He pressed his lips languidly against yours and you melted into him. "I need you," you said when he pulled away from the kiss, the alcohol finally pulling your eyes closed. He was so warm.
"You need me?" he asked, the humor in his voice easy to hear. "Why is that?"
Resting your cheek against his shoulder, you struggled to stay awake long enough to answer his question. "You make me happy, Eggsy. I need you because I love you," you mumbled, too tired to be sure you'd even managed to speak the words out loud.
"I need you, Eggsy."
"Fucking finally." His hands cupped your cheeks and your back met the wall , his lips desperate and needy as they found yours. You leaned into him, and he lifted you off your feet.
“I need you, Eggsy.”
He tugged haphazardly at the shirt tucked into your leggings – his shirt. Eggsy stumbled through your your apartment with you in his arms, careful to avoid the table he'd helped carry inside.
Imagine a Mission Interrupting Your Wedding to Eggsy
A/N: This was requested by @thestrawberryblondehobbitbatch so I hope you like it! Love the idea and I spent most of this writing time on wedding Pinterests but whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A bit of swearing and blood in this one but nothing too bad! Enjoy pals :D
"You look wonderful, Y/N. He'll die when he sees you, I promise," Roxy twisted the final strand of your hair on top of your head, and grinned as she looked you up and down.
Grabbing your shoulders, she turned you around and finally let you look in the mirror. You gasped - she was right. You looked radiant, long white dress floating around you and your hair curled into an elaborate updo. Roxy stood behind you, her bridesmaid's dress a shorter version of yours, smiling like a Cheshire Cat.
"He'd better not, we've had too many close calls for him to die on our wedding day," You laughed and spun to face your friend, glancing at the clock. One hour until you married the love of your life. Eggsy Unwin was about to become your husband. You'd guided him through missions from behind a computer, watched him save the world and let him stare as you did the same, and now you could finally end the most challenging mission of all; planning the bloody wedding.
"Oh god, Roxy, did I tell you what he wanted for the ceremony?" Roxy raised and eyebrow, knowing that you and Eggsy together were a dangerous pair, with your penchant for crazy ideas. It must have been especially wild if you'd had to deny your partner in crime an opportunity for an elaborate scheme. "He wanted JB and Pepper to be the ring bearers. Which sounds adorable, but JB once ate my earrings because they were shiny. I'm not letting him near those rings," The pair of you laughed, the sound echoing around the room's stone walls.
You stared at the clock again. Time crawled along slowly. The sound of ticking reverberated through the room. Tick, tock, tick, tock. Anxiety built in your chest, squashed by the waves of love and excitement.
A pounding on the door snapped you out of your thoughts. Roxy jumped up and opened it, and there stood Merlin, a black suit over his usual jumper, a rose pinned to his lapel and a determined look in his eyes.
"Merlin? What's up?" You asked, sending up a silent prayer that nothing had gone wrong on your big day.
He came into the room, closing the door behind him and pulling out his phone. "Y/N, I'm sorry, but we've got trouble." Confused, you glanced at Roxy, whose expression mirrored yours.
"What kind of trouble? Wedding trouble, or save-the-world trouble?" Merlin grimaced, frantically typing and throwing a pair of glasses to you and Roxy.
"The last one. Galahad's outside. Lancelot, meet him by the helicopter. Emrys, you're with me. I'll explain in a moment,"
The pair of you followed him out of the door, but you were stopped just before you left the church. It was your mother. Fuck.
"Y/N? Where are you going? Are you jilting Gary?" You shook your head, panicked, as Merlin beckoned you to hurry.
Looking around, you desperately tried to think up an excuse. "Mum, it's not that. Eggsy and I have something to do, a work thing - it's important, I swear. Please, just keep everyone busy. I love you!" You hitched up your skirts and ran down the corridor, your mother calling your name and eventually giving up.
The church was surrounded by a sparse wood - luckily for you, you could see the Kingsman helicopter between the trees, and sprinted towards it, wishing you'd brought more practical shoes.
"Y/N!" Cried a familiar voice in the distance, and you felt your heart flutter a little. Even when your wedding day was about to be ruined, you were still reduced to a blushing schoolgirl when Eggsy was around.
You made it to the helicopter and Merlin reached out a hand to help you up. Once inside, you sunk down into your chair, the familiar adrenaline of a mission ebbing away the anxiety of a ruined wedding. As Merlin fired up the engine, you felt arms encircle you from behind.
"Babe, I'm sorry about this. It was supposed to be our day..." You shook your head, turning
around to kiss his cheek.
"It's not your fault, Eggs. We can't exactly give the bad guys our schedule. Speaking of, who are the bad guys here?"
Merlin had already handed Roxy a file, and she turned to you and Eggsy to read it aloud. "It says here that an attack has been planned in a hospital where several high profile politicians are being treated. We need to get inside, disarm the bomb, take out whoever out it there and keep it quiet. I guess Galahad and I are in the field?" Merlin nodded, and Roxy high-fived Eggsy. They'd made a great team since they met at the recruitment for Lancelot's position - you'd noticed it back then when you were Merlin's apprentice, and still saw it as his colleague and co-genius.
"I'll take Lancelot, you take Galahad. This should be an easy one, but we need to move quickly and quietly," You nodded to Merlin and turned to face the computer, seeing the name of the hospital on the screen and beginning to input the codes that would get you into their CCTV. Soon enough, the helicopter touched down in a field behind the building, just out of sight of any potential lookouts. Eggsy and Roxy stood ready to go, and you grabbed Eggsy's arm just in time, pulling him down to kiss you.
"If you die on our wedding day, I'll kick your arse," You whispered against his lips. He winked at you, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear and turned to leave.
"Wouldn't dream of it, darlin'. Let's fuck up some bad guys," The pair disembarked the plane as you and Merlin spun back to face the camera footage.
"I really am sorry, Y/N. I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't urgent-" You smiled at him, and he squeezed your shoulder with fatherly affection.
Turning back to the camera footage, you shook your head. "It's alright. A day to remember, right?"
***
Half an hour later, you guided Eggsy and Roxy back to the helicopter and typed a code into the computer hat let you delete the CCTV footage. The pair stumbled back onto the plane, buzzing with endorphins and only slightly battered. The moment they sat down, Merlin was taking off, speeding back to your church with practised efficiency.
Facing the two agents, you looked them up and down to check for wounds, Seeing none on Roxy, you turned to Eggsy, only to see a large cut that had only just started to bleed. With the rush from the mission, he hadn't felt the pain, and you cursed yourself for not noticing. Rushing over, you frantically looked around for something to staunch the blood flow. You found nothing and felt yourself panicking as Roxy tried to rip the edge of her shirt.
"Y/N, rip some fabric now!" She called, and you hesitated momentarily.
"But I'm in my wedding dress!" Eggsy groaned from where is head rested in your lap, and you sprung into action, ripping away the silk hem of your skirt and wrapping it around Eggsy's wound. You stared mournfully at your dress for a moment but returned your attention to Eggsy, who wrapped an arm around your shoulders and kissed your head.
"This'll be one to tell the kids, babe." You rolled your eyes as Merlin guided the helicopter to land next to the church.
So, with Eggsy bruised and a makeshift bandage wrapped around his head, your dress ripped and bloody, a very confused set of guests and a distinct lack of pug or Dalmatian ring bearers, you married the love of your life.
He twirled you around and kissed you hard before you pulled him into the crowd, a grin on your face and a ring on your finger.
He acts like a super tough guy in public (but for reals he is though he could pick a fight with anyone and probably win) but when he’s with you he’s a huge softie.
Always has his arm around your waist, just so other people know you’re taken.
Michelle likes you a lot. You know she gets lonely ever since she finally got rid of Dean and has to take care of Eggsy’s baby sister, so you often go and visit her and help her out around the house, or just sit down and have a chat.
He keeps his whole Kingsman life separate from you, because he doesn’t want you to get hurt by any of his enemies trying to use you against him. You find out eventually, because he tries to sneak into your shared apartment wearing his suit and you catch him.
“Why are you all dressed up?” “Um… because I want to?” “Eggsy, you are not the type of guy to just wear a suit because you want to.” “Alright, but you ain’t gonna believe me, love.”
You laugh when he first tells you, but then you realize he’s serious. He makes you promise not to tell, and you don’t.
You get really worried when he’s on a mission, but he always gives you a kiss and tells you he’s going to be alright.
Big on PDA. Sometimes he’ll just randomly come up behind you and wrap his arms around you, or kiss you on the cheek. Especially if you’re out and he seems someone getting a little to close to you, he’ll swoop in and kiss you in front of them.
Always letting you know he loves you. Like he’ll just blurt it out randomly when you’re both laughing over something, or as you’re falling asleep.
Likes to cuddle when you’re falling asleep. Always holds you close to him.
Exhaustion swept through his body as he reached his door and fumbled with his keys. The quiet music he could hear through the door brought a smile to his face as he unlocked the deadbolt. His wife always listened to music when she cooked. Eggsy walked into the apartment, setting his keys on the table near the door that his wife bought after the last time he lost his keys. He turned to walk to the kitchen, expecting to find you there, and froze when he saw you on the floor of the living room, the carpet around you covered in red spots.
"Welcome home, darling," you said, smiling shyly as you looked up at him.
Panic flooded his chests and clutched his lungs as he hurried to your side, his hands running over your body in an attempt to find the source of the blood that surrounded you. "What happened to you?" He spoke so quickly that his words slurred together. "Where is the blood coming from? Are you alright?" His panic faded as his training took over and he rolled back onto his feet, tracing his thumb over the ring on his hand. There was a broken frame on the floor behind you, and glass was scattered through the living room.
"Eggsy," you said, grabbing his hands and pulling him back down to his knees beside you. "I'm fine Eggsy. It was nothing more than me being a idiot."
You watched the fear fade from his eyes as he relaxed beside you. He followed your eyes to the foot you held in your hands and carefully moved your fingers to reveal the bleeding gash in the center. "What happened, love?" Eggsy took the wet cloth from your hands and began to carefully clean the cut.
"Nothing big," you said, somehow managing to successfully hiding your embarrassment as you answered. "It's just a scratch anyway."
"It's a bit more than a scratch." He paused and glanced at the broken glass on the floor behind you again. "Does it have anything to do with the wedding photograph broken on the ground?"
Heat filled your cheeks and you dropped your eyes away from his, focusing on him hands instead. "I was dancing around the living room while dinner cooked," you began quietly. "The music was took loud for me to hear when the picture fell. I didn't realize I cut my foot until I saw the blood all over the floor."
He laughed and tucked his finger beneath your chin, lifting your face until he could look at you. "Lucky thing you married a man that knows how to clean up blood." Eggsy kissed you softly. "I'm going to grab a plaster, you're bleeding all over the carpet."
Can you do 85 with Eggsy please? (And a guest appearance by JB if that's not too much to ask) you're the best and I adore youuu 😙
The sun was rising when Eggsy finally made it home the night before. He had climbed stiffly into bed beside you, kissing you softly before lying on his back and closing his eyes. His breathing had been shallow, but he didn't answer when you questioned him, and you let him feign sleep until it finally overcame him. You stayed in bed while he slept, reviewing your files with JB curled at your feet.
"Are you sure you're alright?" you asked him as you traced delicate patterns across his shoulder.
He had been telling you about the day before when you interrupted him. Eggsy grinned, although it was strained. "I'm sure, love. Nothing more than a few bruises. Lancelot was there to keep me from getting into trouble, and Merlin pulled us out before things got too rough."
It was obvious he was lying, but you simply kissed his forehead and stood up, crossing the room to where JB lay by your desk. You set your files on top of the others and sat on the ground beside the pup, his tail wagging wildly when you began scratching his ears. "Roxy has never been able to keep you out of trouble, Eggsy."
"Well, until I can take you out on missions with me, I’ll always get in a bit of trouble, but Roxy does what she can." He strained to push himself up by his elbows, watching you from across the room, a longing in his eyes, and you turned your attention more fully to the dog. "I've never been jealous of that dog before, but I haven't seen you in days and he seems to be getting more attention than me. It would be nice to kiss my girlfriend."
"I'm not going to be sympathetic until you go see a doctor," you said, rubbing JB's stomach as he rolled onto his back next to you. "However insistent you are that you are fine."
Eggsy sighed in defeat, dropping himself back to the mattress, and you looked up at him from the sweet dog by your side. "Would you look at my ribs, my sweet doctor?"
A small smile lit your face and you stood up, JB whining when you did. "I saw the bruises when you changed this morning, Eggsy. Your ribs are, at best, bruised and more likely broken." You sat on the bed beside him as he struggled to pull his shirt over his head and ran your fingers gently over the deep purple bruises that covered his chest. He flinched when you reached his left side and you cringed. "There's an ice pack in the freezer. Pick out a movie, you're stuck in bed until tomorrow."
"At least I have the most stunning doctor in England to take care of me."
