[Enid’s eyes narrow noticing the girl getting touchy with Y/N, Enid raises her hand slowly, her claws extending, but Y/N gently places his hand on hers, pushing it down, not breaking his conversation with the girl]
M!Reader : Oh, you know, just the usual–nothing too crazy...
[The girl ignores Enid completely, continuing to flirt at Y/N, leaning even a bit closer to Y/N making him back up a little]

Enid : .....

[....Once again, Enid's claws flicker out again, her expression now darkened as she raises her hand higher, before she can do anything, Y/N gently pushed her hand down again]

[Cut to Y/N repeatedly patting Enid's head with a worried expression, As Enid's fangs are showing and her nails has extended into claws]
[Y/N wakes up, groggily blinking as he notices Enid peacefully sleeping next to him, he sits up slowly, looking down at his body, his eyes widening as he sees his skin covered in deep nail marks]

[A few hours later, Y/N sitting in the living room, trying to hide the marks as best as he can, Wednesday enters the room]

It had Been 5 months since you and you’re group had arrived at Alexandria, At the hands of Aaron of course. You would have never found this place if it wasn’t for him. At first you didn’t trust him at all but now you’re group was very thankful to him for bringing you to safety. You and you’re group have started to grow comfortable around the other Alexandrian’s and of course there were the few who were either scared of your group or just didn’t talk to you hardly at all. Enid was one of them and it killed you. Mainly because you really liked her, but you were always liking her from afar.
It was nice to know there was another kid you’re age at Alexandria. Carl was a great friend to you of course after being in his group for a long time, But Enid, She was different. But sadly she wouldn’t give you the time of day. But you were going to change that today. No Exceptions.
She was sitting on the same swinging bench she always sat on the other hundred times you’ve tried to talk to her. The sun was shining the brightest it had in a while and later tonight there was a party that every member of Alexandria was to attend. The parties had become a monthly thing. You were in a Great mood, happy and hopeful that maybe the good weather would encourage Enid to talk to you finally. You took a deep breath and walked over to her.
“Hey Enid...” You confidently spoke trying not to come off too enthusiastic. But of course she just looked up at you, a look of confusion and empathy came up on her face.
You had to break the silence. “You don’t like me do you?”
She looked as if she was going to speak until she looked past your shoulder and then back down at her journal sighing.
You were searching your brain for reasons as to why she just won’t talk to you. It’s not like you were too pushy or anything, you gave her space. But you really just wanted to have a conversation with her. Get to know her better. You were lost in thought when a hand rested itself on your shoulder.
“Hey Y/N were out of some medicines, There’s an Apothecary a few miles up the road apparently.” Glenn advised hoping you’d take this one as Maggie is feeling a little under the weather.
Just as you spoke saying you would do it, another voice came from behind you saying they would do it. Enid stood as you turned around facing her.
“I’ll go alone, I was alone before I came here I can go on a quick run.”
That was the most amount of words you’ve heard Enid Say since you’ve met her, you were a little frazzled when you heard Glenn again.
“Enid I don’t think you shou-“
“I can do it.” Enid cut him off.
Glenn was hesitant but gave in.
“Fine but You can’t go alone, I’m not letting that happen. Y/N You and Enid can go with Daryl, he wanted to go too. Meet at the front gate in 30 minutes. ” Glenn nodded toward you as a gesture of keep her safe knowing you were one of the groups more skilled fighters. You of course didn’t need that because you wouldn’t let anyone hurt her . Even if she ignored you.
The run was going smoothly so far. You, Daryl, And Enid had made it to the Apothecary quickly. Of course neither saying much which made it a little awkward for you but that’s just how they were. People of little words.
Daryl was collecting the meds on the list while Enid was searching for whatever else could be of use around the little convenience store taking it back out to the car.
You were busy looking at all the name tags hanging on a rack when you heard a scream. That’s all it took before you were running out the front door Daryl following behind.
Enid was being held with a gun to her head by a man who looked very very determined and maybe in his 30’s. You could feel the anger start to boil inside of you. Daryl stepped beside you raising his crossbow when another man stepped from the side of the building raising a gun to Daryl’s head as well.
“Lower you’re weapons and she won’t get hurt.” The Scum holding Enid demanded. You and Daryl shared a look before slowly lowering your weapons onto the cement.
“Good, now, either she comes with us or one of you do. We need more people to do our dirty work.”
Enid whimpered under the grasp of the man, you were getting angrier and angrier the more you seen her struggle.
“Take me, don’t hurt her.” You insisted. Much rather you get hurt than her, you refused to let her get hurt.
“Aww is she your little girlfriend, how sweet. Fine.” He quickly threw Enid on the ground, she groaned in pain. He lurched forward dragging you to him. Daryl Looked at you like you were crazy.
“Now, Welcome new Savior. Nice to have you on our side. “
You remembered you had your knife in the holster under your shirt. Quickly and quietly you slid your hand under your shirt. Daryl noticed and began talking to distract the men. In one swift motion you pulled out the knife and Dug it into the man’s neck. Blood flying everywhere. He released his grasp on you and fell to the ground limp. Daryl At the same time dipped down grabbing his cross bow aiming for the other man as Enid Crawled to lean against the building weaponless.
You were still a little out of it as you felt your body being lifted and tossed onto the ground very hard and then being kicked repeatedly. A rib cracking in the process and your head beginning to feel very light. You winced in pain as you felt the body of whoever threw you down fall on top of you, an arrow through their head.
You were still laying bloody and bruised on the hard ground when you see two shadows over your face. You slowly drifted into unconsciousness.
When you woke up you were back in your bed in Alexandria. A Medical bandage wrapped around your torso and a vein in your hand hooked up to an I.V. You weren’t alone though as you looked up to Enid, with a few tears down her face.
“I’m so sorry Y/N. I never meant to hurt you or ignore you ...” You were still a little hazy as you processed her words.
Pain shot down your side as you moved to face her better.
“Enid its-“
“No, it’s not ok y/n. I was being too selfish to not allow myself to get hurt again by losing someone I really care about. But I really like you Y/N. I do, I was trying to distance myself from you because the minute you start to care about someone in this new world they get taken from you. But now I realize that I can’t let something like what happened today happen again without telling you that... I really like you and I can’t keep pushing you away because as I keep doing that I hurt myself along with hurting you. I’m so sorry.”
You softly cupped the side of her cheek pulling her closer to you. You pushed your lips against hers hoping that she was ok with it. She was though, She pushed back kissing you like she was making up for lost time.
“Enid…” You whispered pulling away “Does this mean you’ll talk to me now.”
A small beautiful smile that you haven’t seen much of escaped her lips and you couldn’t help but smile in return.
“Yes y/n this means I will more than talk to you now.” She laughed and even though you were in pain. You couldn’t be any happier.
