A/N I wrote this during my algorithms class after my teacher flirted with me lmaoo enjoy !!
“Enums were introduced in Java 5.0. Enums restrict a variable to have one of only a few predefined values. The values in this enumerated list are called enums” you read silently, adjusting your earbuds to drown out chattering that was emerging from around Derek’s desk. Prentiss, Spencer, Penelope and, of course, Morgan were discussing the latter’s love life.
You were all done for the day, having a heavy day of paper work, and Hotch had asked you to stay in for a few hours as he checked for any other cases with JJ. They quickly mentioned something about a serial rapist in Georgia and had quickly left to see if they could convince local PD to invite them in.
You had heard some of the comment before deciding to focus on your Algorithms and Data Structure class – comments regarding Morgan’s commitment issues and sexual endeavors. You looked at Derek and took note of his body language: he sat tall on his chair, eyebrows relaxed and a small smug painting his face. Everything about him screamed “yeah?, and what about it?”.
As of right now, you wanted nothing more than to wipe that smug smile off of his face. To curse him for being proud of the long line of broken hearts he probably left behind. But you also knew it wasn’t true. Derek would never hurt a fly, unless it somehow committed a crime. He was always paying you a nice compliment after a case, or giving you one of his famous pep talks when you needed a little push. He was probably the most attentive man you had ever met. Well, excluding Spencer.
Doctor Spencer Reid. How to even begin to explain anything about this man. He was complex in ways you could never imagine. He seemed to know everything there was to know, yet he was completely oblivious of what is going on around him. Yes, he can solve cases like a motherfucker, but when it came to the feelings of people around him, he still struggled.
Yes, you were completely and utterly enamored by the man. I mean, how could you not? Anybody who paid a little attention to him would completely fall for him - you were sure of that. The way he would knit his eyebrows together and lick his lips when he was having trouble understanding something, the way he would ramble on about any and all subjects, no matter how trivial they might be, the shape his fingers would follow when he quickly followed his sight when reading a book… He was an incredibly attractive man.
You could also not help but imagine him wrapped around your finger, looking at you like a desperate, innocent boy, whining as you fucked him dumb.
You tried not to think about it, instead submerging yourself into the book that was in front of you.
“Can’t fail, can’t fail” you mumbled to yourself, as you continued trying to make sense of the seemingly impossible subject you were currently working on. You continued reading for not more than 15 minutes before Penelope placed her hand on your back softly, still making you jump, the contrast between the suddenness of her touch and the ethereal Satie pieces softly grazing your soul as you tried to make sense of the books in front of you has startled more than it should.
You took off one of your earbuds to listen to what they were saying, somewhat annoyed. “What?” you said with a tone that shouldn’t’ve been as harsh as it came out to be. You quickly mumbled a “sorry” at their shocked looks before changing your demeanor. Pen smiled down at you.
“Oh, that’s alright, dear! Do not even mention it. Do you want us to leave you to your work?” she asked, sweet as ever. You smiled gratefully. “No, but thank you for offering. Having you here helps me work harder” you explained. “What did you want?” you asked, shifting your gaze to meet Spencer’s, who was looking at you with concern. It was one thing to have you lash out the people around you, which he could attribute to your anxiety over finals, but it was a whole different thing to have direct access to the sight of the dark marks that grazed your under eyes, showing just how much you were wearing yourself out.
You quickly looked at Pen as she said “Well, we just wanted you to scold at Derek for being a total man whore” she said, turning with an accusatory tone, to which the whole team laughed at. Even Spencer chuckled a little at her words, however still wary of you, his eyes never leaving your own. You smirked, making sure to enjoy every single second of your little break.
“Well, I think… perhaps our little chocolate sculpture of perfection should be a bit of a man whore…” you said, tentatively. “Who are we to deprive the world of having Derek Morgan in their beds?” you said, nonchalantly, earning yourself the laughter of your teammates and a “Ready when you are, y/l/n” from Morgan, to which you winked.
You turned back to put your earbuds on before you were interrupted once again, this time by the resident genius. “Hey y/l/n, are you ok?” he looked at you with the same concerned look as you had seen mere minutes ago. You nodded, letting out a soft “mhm” before going back into your book.
You noticed how Spencer’s body tensed slightly at the idea of you not feeling comfortable enough to tell him something. After all, you guys were best friends, at least from his point of view, and he didn’t like the idea of you hiding something if it was bothering you. He wanted to help.
And right now, you really did need his help, no matter how stubborn you were about it. You felt like your chest was compressing at the sight of the amount exercises under your fingers which you would have to master in such a short period of time. Your heart felt heavy, and your body felt completely empty and numb. You knew the feeling. Of course you did. You had been having anxiety attacks since you could remember, the pressure of your parents into having “the perfect daughter” weighing in on you too much.
Suddenly, everything felt cold, and you felt as if your soul had been expelled from your body, only leaving a corpse. Your vision went blurry and you shut your eyes harshly, trying to focus on the words that filled the pages in front of you. But you couldn’t.
You tried burying yourself back into the books in front of you, knowing an anxiety attack in front of the team was probably the worst thing that could happen to you today. What you didn’t realize, however, was that Spencer had decided to move away from the conversation momentarily and stalk over your desk, making you jump at his shadow.
“Gosh Spence! You scared me” you said, looking up to him. He narrowed his eyes for a few seconds before bringing a chair around and sitting down. Without saying a word, he began skimming through the page you were in. You waited patiently for him to speak.
“I have a PhD in engineering, Y/N. I can help you if you need it” he said, chuckling nervously before licking his lips. Your heart swelled at his words. Something about having Spencer helping you made your heart soar. ‘He cares’, you thought momentarily.
Of course he cares, you always knew this. But the anxiety you were experiencing over finals week brought all kinds of other insecurities into your life. “Isolation has proven to reduce effectiveness in other aspects of your life like work and overall mental health”, you remembered Spencer’s words from a few weeks back when you were discussing how different prison systems could benefit or harm a prisoners chance of being able to be reinstated into society.
To be completely frank, the idea of having Spencer explaining different Java modules to you as you bounced on his cock was one that went straight to your head and, subsequently, between your legs where you needed him the most.
You rid yourself of the dirty thoughts you were having about the resident genius before clearing your throat to talk to him.
“Yeah, I know. But I didn’t want to interrupt you. You looked like you were having a lot of fun” you said, not wanting to tell him the truth. But, after all, you guys were best friends. He knew everything about you, which included knowing when you were lying.
“Hey” he said, feeling compelled to grab your chin to turn you to look at him. However, he refrained from doing so, knowing it would earn the team at least a teasing comment. You weren’t up for that right now and, honestly, he wouldn’t be able to conceal the blush that always crept up to his cheeks at the thought of being something more with you. He continued, but not before licking his lips again. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?” he asked you with the softest voice. You might not even have heard him, he thought.
You cleared your throat before continuing.
“My teacher asked me out” you let out, not wanting to explain the rest. However, Spencer’s heart fell to his feet. ‘She probably said yes. Fuck, I’ve lost any chance I might’ve had with her he mentally cursed his shyness.
Penelope, however, of course, heard what you had said (having a sixth sense for gossip). “Oooh!! Your teacher asked you out?? Is he hot?” she squealed before turning her face to a look of disgust. “Wait aren’t you in college?? Please tell me he isn’t all old and wrinkly” she shuddered.
You chuckled lightly, “No! He’s young-ish… maybe 30? 35? I don’t really know” you explained, but Penelope wanted more.
You didn’t even realize how Spencer’s face had completely fallen, looking at you now with glossy, puppy dog eyes.
He’s completely wrapped around your finger.
“How can you not know his age? You went out on a date with him!” she exclaimed, teasing your apparent lack of memory.
“Nono, I never went out with him.” You quickly clarified, to which Spencer stood a little taller, no longer cursing the man that was supposed to teach you Java instead of having to do it himself.
Thoughts like “if he is so amazing why does she find herself at a little over 11pm hunched over her books instead of spending her time with her team?” disappeared from his mind.
Pen looked at you with confusion written all over her face before Prentiss clarified for you, clearly knowing what had happened. She was, after all, one of the sharpest agents you had ever met.
“She refused the date, and now she has to make up for it.” she stated, understanding. You nodded.
“I can’t afford to fail. If I give him a reason to fail me, he will. He was furious, Pen” you said, gaze shifting around to the worried faces that were part of the conversation. All but one.
Penelope’s hand found itself to your back again before stroking it supportively. Prentiss nodded, too. “Tell us if you need any help, alright babe?” she said, before turning back to Morgan , whose face only showed pure anger.
“No, nah nah” he denied. “This is alright? You’re all fine with this?” he said, not understanding. Spencer joined. “There must be somebody you can tell right? Maybe a tutor? Or the dean, maybe?”, to which Prentiss and you snorted in unison.
Prentiss sighed. “Men…” she mumbled, clearly astonished at their reactions. You laughed again.
“It’s different for us, guys. If I complain about it then I “shouldn’t’ve given him the impression that I was interested”. If I had said yes, which I didn’t want, I would be “using my body to get a good grade’” If I hadn’t talked to him at all I would be “acting difficult to get his attention”. There’s literally no way out of it” you explained softly. Morgan nodded warily, still trying to figure a way out of it.
Spencer’s blood boiled. Never mind the fact that he found you delightful and wanted to spend the rest of his life next to you. The fact that your teacher was taking advantage of your in this way was completely disgusting.
Before knowing what he was doing, he exclaimed “well that’s just bullshit, isn’t it?” as he stood up, the back of his knees pushing against the chair, which flew backwards with the force of his movement. He blushed slightly and continued.
“There must be something you can do. You can’t be beating yourself up with this subject. You have other things to do! I could talk to him or something. If you want to, of course“ he brought a hand to his face, rubbing it. “I just- I don’t understand how somebody could be so fucking despisable” he ranted but stopped quickly as he looked at the surprised reactions of the team.
He was way angrier than anybody else, including yourself – who had, for some reason, completely accepted this outcome. To be honest, he was fucking pissed, but there were other emotions coursing through his veins. He was jealous.
He didn’t want to be, of course. Jealousy is an ugly emotion. But the thought of you having something with such a despisable man such as himself made him want to hold you and never, ever, let you go.
He blushed for the third time that day before sitting down again. Everybody watched attentively as he grabbed your hand, yielding a newfound motivation. “I’ll help you, Y/N. You’re going to ace that test. You don’t need him, Y/N. You are so much more than that scumbag” he admitted. Something had overcome him, but you weren’t mad about it. You like this side of Spencer and, even though you rarely got to see it, it was a sight for sore eyes indeed. The way his hands ran through his hair anxiously, the way he would stand a bit taller… He was always pretty, but he looked absolutely gorgous like this.
Pen chuckled awkwardly before turning back to talk to Derek and Prentiss. You didn’t notice, though, the world instead turning around Spencer’s warm touch on your hands.
You nodded gratefully. “I would love it if you could help me with this subject. I don’t want to pry, though. If you have other things to do you can definitely do those. You’re probably a busy ma-“ he interrupted you. “You have all my time, Y/N” he blurted out, eyes widening at what he just said. Your eyes locked with his nervous orbs, and you smiled.
Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, after all.

The case had been a rough one. Four teenagers went missing. All four of them ended up dead. They caught the killer, but not before any of them could be saved. Spencer got out of the car feeling more defeated than he had in a long time. He wanted nothing more than to see you, to hear your voice. The phone calls were great, but it was nothing like being able to gaze into your eyes as they lit up when you saw him, or the way you pulled him close to you in your sleep.
If he had the energy, he would have run up the stairs and broke the apartment door down to get to you, but the last few days had taken too much out of him. Still, he found himself almost jittery with exhausted excitement as he unlocked the door. As soon as he saw you standing in the kitchen, he threw his messenger bag on the ground and swept you into his arms, relishing in the sweet scent of your skin.
“Hi Spence,” you laughed. His clinginess was nothing new, after all he caught serial killers for a living. Anyone who did that needed a hug afterwards. He stood motionless, enjoying the feeling of your body pressed against his until he finally broke it with a long kiss.
“Hi Y/N.”
It was only then you saw his eyes. The usual brightness was gone, and was replaced by a dull, tired look. He looked like he hadn’t slept well in a while, but more than that, he just look broken. “You okay?” you asked him. He turned his face down to the floor, suddenly ashamed of his own emotions. Even with his vocabulary, he couldn’t quite figure out how to communicate his feelings, so he settled for a shrug.
“C’mere.” You led him over to the couch, and let him collapse on it with a satisfied sigh. As soon as you sat down, he tipped his head onto your shoulder, letting you comb your fingers though his tangled hair, massaging his head as you did. “Wanna talk about it?”
He took your free hand in his and squeezed before giving a quiet, “No”. Well, if he didn’t want to talk, you weren’t going to make him, but you also knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep if the last thing he had on his mind was how terrible his case went. You searched your brain for ideas, trying to grab at anything that would make him feel better. It wasn’t until you looked around that one popped into your head. As soon as it did, you untangled yourself from him and made your way across the living room, beginning to leaf through your substantially large record collection until you found what you were looking for. Carefully, you took it out of the sleeve and set it on the turntable before releasing the arm, smiling at the small crackle of the vinyl coming to life.
Your chimes still resonate in the clouds of my guest room, and I stand in need of your fine bloom
The smoky voice of the singer wafted through the apartment, enveloping you in its warmth as you stood willfully entranced by the sound. As the energy flowed through you, your hand reached out to Spencer, inviting him to join you in the middle of the room. It seemed like the music was captivating him the same as it was for you. He looked relaxed for the first time that night as he got up and put his hands on your waist. With your arms set on his shoulders, you smiled. You couldn’t help it. His curly hair fell into his eyes as he looked down at you, having never seen something so beautiful. You. In your sweatpants and old college t shirt that smelled like lavender fabric softener, dancing in his arms in the middle of the night. The dim lights that used to bother you because you could never see swallowed you whole and you let them. The rest of the world stopped as you felt his arms move from your waist, to your upper back pulling you tight against his chest. Now instead of dancing prom style, you were simply held in his arms, rocking back in fourth. Your head was upon his chest, and you closed your eyes at the comforting warmth of it. The rise and fall of his breathing made you feel safer than you ever have before.
If your drop shall be sufficient, I’m overcrowded by your thirst. It denies resistance
Never before had you felt this loved. You were so absorbed in the moment of it you almost didn’t notice the quiet sniffle from above you. Looking up, you were met with Spencer’s teary eyes. They were red, and filled to the brim. As he noticed you studying his face, he smiled at you.
“Spence?” you asked softly.
“I’m not sad, I promise,” he replied with a small laugh. “I just love you a lot.” His voice hitched on the last sentence as your heart swelled. You kissed the tip of his nose as you felt your own eyes burn with tears of joy. You didn’t know it was possible to feel this way about another human being. He tucked his head into your shoulder and sighed a happy sigh.
Ghost lights flicker flirtatiously. Like pom – poms on prom night, flitting away your timidity
Time disappeared a long time ago, but eventually in the warmth of his embrace, you became more and more exhausted, wanting nothing more than to go to sleep and rest your head upon him until morning
“You ready for bed?” he asked, as if he read your mind. You nod, too tired to say anything else. After placing a kiss on your lips, he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and took you down the hall. God, you loved him like hell.
I need you, baby can’t you see. Something chimes in me

The television blinked, the picture turning black as it asked if you were still watching. With a humph, you pressed on the remote, bringing back the sitcom you’d turned on hours ago in hopes to fill the mind-numbing silence that aired around your dark apartment. It used to not bug you, the silence, but that was when you weren’t alone and the silence was accompanied by the even breathing of two people simply existing in the same place together. It’s been two months, three weeks, five days and six hours since you’ve felt that peace and about that same time since it was replaced with an ache that left you feeling like no matter how deep your breaths were, you were still gasping for air. Honestly, you’ve felt like someone sucker punched you ever since he had waltzed out the door without a look back. The small apartment was illuminated by the television, the light glistening off the picture frames you’d gathered into a pile on the table, having been determined to finally rid your apartment of all the memories and heartache, the only thing that he’d bothered leaving behind.
Besides you.
Gulping down the last of your wine to the sound of the animated laughs, you set the glass down on your table and picked up a couple of the picture frames looking at the pictures that left you feeling dizzier than the alcohol did. The smiling couple that looked up at you seemed so perfect, toothy grins blinding the camera and hiding the hours of arguments that happened behind closed doors. You were stubborn, you knew that, but so was he, creating a dangerous combination that always left you winded and aching. Arguments were common, stemming from any little roadblock that seemed to cause your relationship to stumble. You couldn’t stop yourself though, he didn’t listen and when he did it was like he wasn’t hearing you, so you yelled. You yelled until you were blue in the face and your throat was sore, you yelled until you were sure that at least half of what you said finally reached his orbit and then some more. Your relationship was a match, burning with a heated fury and completely unpredictable, keeping you warm half the time and leaving you burnt the rest. This time, however, it left you scorched.
Blinking tears away, you set down the frames before you did something crazy like calling him. Your mouth went dry with just the thought of picking up the phone and hearing his voice. Hell, you hadn’t even seen him since he left, blocking him on all social media just like you blocked his number. You’d told yourself it was because you were done with him, but you knew the truth, you knew you were terrified that he wouldn’t reach out to you and you’d be forced to see him move on and do better without you in his life. That’s why he left, after all, to do better. The thought made your heart clench, the thought that he’d moved on while you were here, drinking wine in the dark and crying over the memories he’d left you alone with. Suddenly, the tears that were building up in your eyes were tears of anger as you imagined how little he must think of you, how he probably didn’t even remember the color of your eyes or the feel of your touch. How he didn’t need you anymore. Your fingers grappled through the blanket, searching for the phone that you’d been using a lot less recently and unlocking it with the same passcode you’d had for two years now. Your anniversary. Gripping your phone tighter, you went directly to the settings, maneuvering your way around until your finger hovered on his phone number for a second before pressing down on it and unblocking him.
Immediately, your phone began to vibrate as messages began to flood your phone. Your heart clenched even tighter as your phone screen flashed through multiple messages from him. The pit that had been growing in your stomach felt even more like a swirling black hole than ever before as you pressed on the text message icon and scrolled.
Y/N please, just talk to me
I’m sorry
I don’t know what I’m doing without you
I need you
And they continued as such, message after message in your inbox as proof that you weren’t alone in your yearning. It wasn’t just you. You weren’t the only one who looked at your door, aching for when he would walk in and sweep you in his arms. You weren’t the only one whose mind was constantly invaded, not the only one who still reached across the bed, still made two cups of coffee, still announced that they were home to an empty house.
God, you fucking missed him.
Without a second thought, your wavering fingers stumbled while dialing the familiar number and soon you were pressing your phone to your cheek, squeezing your eyes and holding your breath.
“Hello, you reached Dr. Spencer Reid, I can’t come to the phone right now…”
The sound of his voice, even just a recording, sucker punched you in the gut. His voice resonated deep inside you and you realized, pathetically, that it still sounded exactly how you remember. Your throat began to close, just now wondering how stupid this idea had been. An audible gasp fell from your lips as a beep rang out, asking you to leave a message, and you clumsily cursed as you quickly hung up the phone, tossing it aside with any hopes you might’ve had to begin with.
You sat there, staring at the television and attempting to ignore the ache you felt before a faint knock interrupted your pity show. You snapped your head to look at the door, unsure if you truly heard something when another knock sounded on the door, this one more assertive and undeniable. Your eyes loomed over the clock on your wall, assuring you that you weren’t wrong on the late hour you assumed it to be. The knocks came again and this time they were accompanied by a buzzing coming from the forgotten phone. Tumbling off the couch as you tried to get out of the tangled web of blankets, you ran to the front door, praying you the person on the other side would be able to finally fill the gaping hole you’d felt in your heart since he stepped out of the apartment.
A mass of skin and bones tumbled in the minute you opened the door, leaving you unable to recognize anything but the mop of brown curls that were obstructing your view as the figure swept you in their arms and breathed you in deeply. It didn’t matter though, there was no mistaking that it was him. Nobody else made you feel this way with a simple touch. Nobody else could cause your skin to tingle with an unmistakable fire, nobody else could weaken your knees and tighten your chest this way.
“Spencer.” You breathed out, your voice coming you unfocused and in disbelief. His grip tightened when he registered your voice and you felt him tighten his hold on you with a shaky gasp as he pushed further into the apartment, kicking the apartment door closed behind him.
“Just listen to me, please. I’m tired. I am mentally and physically drained. I come home from a constant battle against the world, against humanity, only to battle myself. I have to fight, with everything in me to keep from driving here and knocking on that door until you step out and I can beg you to forgive me. The next thing I know it’s 2 in the morning. I’m alone and all I can remember is that damn smile of yours. And I love you. I am so mind-numbing, life-consuming in love with you. Every ounce of fight I have left, I want to spend with you instead of against.”
Suddenly your eyes were looking directly into his as his large hands cupped your face, “I try not to miss you, I tried to let you go but I can’t. I’ve always thought my mind was a terrifying place but with you on it so often, it’s like I’m standing at the eye of the hurricane. I’m not ready for you to leave. I’m not ready to face things without you.”
You could feel your eyes water as Spencer spoke, his words tumbling out fast and slurred, and you felt his grip on your face tighten when he saw the waterworks. A salty tear dripped on to his thumb, causing him to jerk his hands away. His face crumbled as he took you in, your face illuminated only slightly in the dark by the television that was still on but still being visible enough for him to be able to take you in.
Spencer felt his heart shatter.
Your beautiful eyes were filled with tears, streaming down your soft skin and leaving a trail of sadness down a face he’d sworn to himself to always keep smiling. His hands turned to fists, trying his best to keep from reaching out and touching you again like he yearned to. His arms prickled with pain, remembering what it felt like to have them wrapped around you, and he soon started to feel his own eyes begin to water. He licked his lips, tasting the alcohol he’d foolishly consumed in hopes of drowning out the pain he’d felt when he listened to your voice on your voicemail message. The one he still called twice a day, just to hear your voice.
“I’m so sorry. Fuck, I thought…I don’t know…you called me…” Spencer chocked out, retreating farther into himself as he realized you hadn’t reacted well to him. You felt your heart stutter worse than his voice as he stepped away from you and you instinctively stepped towards him. He didn’t notice though, his eyes now violently shut in an attempt to wake up from this nightmare, the one he’d been having nightly now. Your own body betrayed you, stringing you closer and closer to him as if it could tell you needed him as naturally as breathing. You could feel yourself grow warmer and warmer as you got closer to him until your skin felt on fire again and you reached up to grasp his hands from their entangled place in his hair.
Your hands tingled when they connected with his and the next thing you knew your arms were wrapped around his neck and your body was pressed against his. You clenched on to him, holding on with all the strength you had left and sunk into him when his arms snaked around your waist, anchoring you to him. Every fight, every argument, you knew you’d go through them a thousand times over if it meant getting to feel with him.
“I miss you.” You breathed out, clinging on to the only solution to the feeling of pain you’ve felt for what seemed like forever, “Please don’t leave me.”
You felt Spencer grasp you tighter once more, “I found myself when I found you, there’s no way I can let you slip from my grasp again. I want to be whole again.”
Requested by Anon - Can you do a Spencer Reid imagine with Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran?
Word Count – 765 (including lyrics)
Characters – Reid x Reader
You look so wonderful in your dress
I love your hair like that
The way it falls on the side of your neck
Down your shoulders and back
Reid waited at the bottom of the stairs for you, waiting to join you for your high school reunion. When you made your way down the stair Spencer, lost his voice. He was so taken back by how beautiful you were. The dress was hugging you in all the right places, the colour made you ski look tanned and golden. Your hair, was curled lightly, it is flowing freely, which was a complete contrast to when it is always tied up for work.
We are surrounded by all of these lies
And people who talk too much
You've got that kind of look in your eyes
As if no one knows anything but us
When you were sitting at the table, with all your old school mates, Spencer could tell you were forcibly smiling. Putting up with lies, of how far they’ve come and how you used to be vest friends. When you turned around and made eye contact with Spencer he could tell how fed up you were, that’s when he interrupted.
‘Sorry guys but we need to go.’ Spencer said wrapping his arm around your waist.
‘Aw but we hadn’t finished catching up.’
‘I know, we’ll do it some other time, but we need to get to work.’ He said, squeezing your tighter. The nodded before you and Spencer walked away.
‘Thank you.’ You said, stepping up to press a kiss to his cheek. He smiled, before taking your hand.
And should this be the last thing I see
I want you to know it's enough for me
'Cause all that you are is all that I'll ever need
Once you were in the car, you physically relaxed. Once Spencer was in he took your hand before starting the car and driving away. You smiled up at him and watched as he drove through your old town.
I'm so in love, so in love
So in love, so in love
You look so beautiful in this light
Your silhouette over me
The way it brings out the blue in your eyes
Is the Tenerife sea
After Spencer had rescued you, he took you to a hill, when you got out the car, you could see the town all lite up. Spencer got out after you, watching as you just took in the view. He smiled as he watched you turn around to him.
‘Are you coming?’ You asked, he only nodded as he took in your silhouette. He walked around the bonnet of the car, he took your hand and pulled you close to him, as you came in contact with him, you enclosed your arms around his waist and then you both started swaying gentle.
And all of the voices surrounding us here
They just fade out when you take a breath
Just say the word and I will disappear
Into the wilderness
He took in the silence of the hill, compared to the loud noises of the overcrowded gym hall. With his arms wrapped around you, your head in the crook of his neck. Your hair moving slowly in the wind, he heard as you took a deep breath and blow it out gently against his neck. He slowed the movement and rubbed his hands over your arms, feeling that you were cold, he leaned back taking his jacket off and placing it over your shoulders.
And should this be the last thing I see
I want you to know it's enough for me
'Cause all that you are is all that I'll ever need
‘I love you.’ Spencer said, you leaned your head back smiling. You wrapped your hands around his neck.
‘I love you too.’ You breathed. He smiled before leaning down and capturing your lips in a delicate kiss, you both pulled back, and smiled once more before you leaned your head on his shoulder again.
I'm so in love, so in love
So in love, so in love
Lumiere, darling
Lumiere over me
Lumiere, darling
Lumiere over me
Lumiere, darling
Lumiere over me
And should this be the last thing I see
I want you to know it's enough for me
'Cause all that you are is all that I'll ever need
I'm so in love, so in love
So in love, love, love, love,
So in love
You look so wonderful in your dress
I loved your hair like that
And in the moment I knew you, Beth
You dropped your keys in front of your door for the third time and felt the moan grow in your throat. Today… today was a bad day. First some clod on a bike knocked into you, tipping your favourite morning drink down your new blouse; then there was a major fire hazard at the book store. Then the rare book you had haggled weeks for was sold to someone else for less than you originally agreed to pay.
Worst of all Spencer was out there, somewhere, in danger and there was nothing you could do to help him. You had seen the emergency alert over the internet, knowing that Spencer was there trying to stop the criminals from hurting anyone, but knowing he could get hurt too. Your forehead fell against the door, wishing that somehow you could help. They were your friends too, Your mind had raced seeing JJ on the news station, knowing that any minute you could have been called to watch little Henry should anything happen. The cook books in the store that made you want one of Rossi’s delicious pasta meals. You sigh little, always left behind, you would have to ring Garcia and get an update. You grab the door handle ready to lower yourself to your keys, however as the handle turned your weight on the door pushed it open.
It wasn’t immediate fear, instead your mind wondered back, perhaps in your tired morning state you had left your door open? No, you remember saying hello to Mrs Thompson as you did it. No one else had a key. Instead of reaching for your key, or running, you immediately shoved your hand into your bag and gripped the pepper spray and dropped your bag next to your keys. True you should have called the police, or anyone to that matter, but it was your apartment, and hell knows you needed to take out your frustration, who better than an intruder. No way in gods name where you going to sit back and be another victim for Reid or the others to worry about. If you couldn’t look after yourself you had no reason putting yourself in their lives, even if they constantly disagreed with your point you couldn’t drop it.
The light in the entrance shone through the crack in the door, so you carefully and silently pushed it forward with your foot. Tightening your grip on the cylindrical tube in your hands, your eyes scouted the hallway and found nothing. The small tables and drawers had been untouched and unopened. So you could only imagine whoever it was wanted the big stuff. As was proved by the duffel bag dropped at the end of the hallway. Peeking into your kitchen a grimace fell over you, your cupboards were open and on the counter two crystal glasses and a set of plates were lazily set out.
Over the top of the counter you could see the outline of…something curled up on your sofa. Whoever had broken in really dared to sleep on the sofa? Did they really think you were that weak, that you wouldn’t notice? Silently moving around the counter you could tell whoever it was in the darkness of the living room was obviously larger than you, so surprise it would have to be. Perhaps it was fear? Or maybe tired stupidity or even hormones, but you knew pepper spray wouldn’t work here, so with your heart thumping in your chest, you leap forward.
“Ah!” you were unsure whether you made high pitched noise or the intruder, who had unceremoniously fallen from the couch as you jumped on him. Using what ever force you had flung yourself with, you pulled him along with you landing on the floor and pinning him beneath you, your hands encircled the wrists and you landed hard on the stomach underneath you, clearly knocking the wind out of the intruder who you could finally see.
“Reid!” Your voice cracked with both shock and joy as you recognised the very confused and surprised face below you. Nodding slowly, the passing of sleep falling from his face with every minute. “I’m so s-s-sorry” You start to stuttered as the giggles rose from your belly, you were so relieved that the many mistakes you had made hadn’t resulted in your untimely death. Not when he was finally home. You felt the blush creep up as you realise how stupid you had actually been, it wasn’t just yourself you had to worry about after all. “I thought someone… you broke in!”
“You gave me a key!” his voice was as high pitched as yours, shocked and alarmed. What? You cast your mind back only to remember that - in fact - you had just a few days prior to him leaving for work - given him a spare key. You realised a small ‘oh’ into air as the memory hit you. But something else did too. It was Reid below you. Spencer Reid. The largest smile you could muster fell on your face. You released his wrists but only shuffled your weight lower onto his abdomen so he could breath. “You’re home!” You squeaked loudly, before he could even speak again you pecked at him with as many kisses as you could muster. He was here. He was safe. He chuckled against you with every kiss you planted on him.“Seriously,” he finally said once you freed his mouth and moved to his jaw and cheeks. “You’re worse than a puppy,”
“I came here to surprise you and you weren’t home, so I thought I’d make you dinner but…” after you reluctantly let him sit up, you settled on his lap as he lent tiredly against the couch, with a sheepish grin. “I fell asleep.” he yawned, but instead of crawling away to have space, he gathered you forward, resting his tired head on your shoulder. You clung to him tightly. Your crappy day had done a total 180. “Then you jumped me.” He added. “By the way, why the hell did you jump me if you thought i broke in?”
“Because, of...” You struggled to come up with the answer. “The power of...” Narrowing your eyes you flashed your teeth with your smile. “I am little and mighty! Hear my roar!” With a lopsided grin he returned your narrow look. “Oh yes, so mighty, you didn’t even grab a knife from the kitchen, and you dropped your pepper spray. What exactly did you plan to do?” “It doesn’t matter,” You ran your hand through his hair as you had longed to do for days. “You’re here now. We can have dinner tomorrow,” he hummed in agreement. Tomorrow. You sighed as happily as you could.
Tomorrow you would have dinner with the love of your life, tomorrow you would tell him he was going to be a father. Tomorrow you were going to vow to give him as many tomorrows as he wanted.

You had just gotten home from a bad day at the office, you had to tidy your apartment, normally you would have done it yourself but you were so tired, you casted a spell and you watched as everything moved its self-back into place. What you didn’t hear was your door opening and closing as you friend, Spencer opened the door.
‘What are you doing Y/N?’ Spencer asked, you gasped before everything dropped to the ground. You turned around and saw Spencer, who was gasping like a fish watching you. You opened your mouth to explain but nothing came out, you stepped forward with your hands raised, Spencer took a step back which made you stop.
‘I can explain.’ You said, rubbing your hands together, looking at the brush was lying abandoned on the floor. He looked at it and then back at you.
‘I can cast spells.’ You told him honestly, he shook his head. Eyes wide as he took everything in.
‘You’re a witch.’ He whispered after a few minutes silence. You shook your head.
‘No.’ You said with your hands raised.
‘Yes you are.’ Spencer said, nodding his head before walking back slightly.
‘No I’m not.’ You told him honestly.
You cast spells.’ He said with wide eyes, taking in what had just happened. You sighed and took a seat on the couch.
‘I‘m a wizard.’ You said and he looked at you and blinked, once, then twice.
How does that make it better?’ He questioned.
it doesn’t?’ You returned with a question. Spencer looked at you before you smiled awkwardly at him.
Since when?’ Spencer asked.
What?’ You asked as you looked up.
How long have you been doing it?’ Spencer asked you, you sighed rubbing your knees.
Since I was able to walk.’ You told him, he relaxed slightly and took a seat across from you. He was looking at his hands, thinking things over
‘You didn’t tell me.’ Spencer said, almost hurt.
‘You would have ditched me.’ You told him.
‘I wouldn’t have.’ He said. You looked up and made eye contact.
‘Yeah you would have, do you know how many times I’ve had to move because someone became suspicious of me? How many times, something wasn’t right after they had been in my house, how people gave me looks?’ You told him, he didn’t look away once. He moved over to the seat beside you.
‘Trust me, I would have freaked but I wouldn’t have left you.’ He said, you could tell he was speaking honestly, you smiled and he brought you in for a hug.
‘Have you ever used it on a case?’ He asked as he pulled back from the hug, you smiled and looked down at you bare feet.
‘You have? Which one?’ He asked, you smiled and looked up.
‘Two cases ago, the unsub wasn’t speaking so I might have cast a truth spell on him.’ You said, shyly. Spencer just looked at you and chuckled.
‘I know something was off, he only started talking after you left and I know you aren’t that good at playing bad cop.’ Spencer said, you chuckled and nudged him.
‘I can make a mean bad cop.’ You said to him.
’When else have you used it?’ He asked, you smiled widely and that’s how you spent the rest of the night. You sat with your legs crossed telling him all the times you used your spells, whether the be for the good or bad.

You sighed as you stepped out your car. You had phone Spencer half an hour ago, saying you would be home in an hour or so as you were just finishing up the final touches to your work. You had managed to get everything done successfully and finished earlier than you had hoped, you were glad, you got to spend more time with Spencer since he had just gotten back from a case. It was rare that you and Spencer were off close or at them same time. If he wasn’t on a case he was in the office doing paperwork and you were almost working every night as you had recently a lot more clients.
You opened the door to your apartment, turned and closed it. You heard someone running quickly. You turned around and saw a wide-eyed Spencer.
‘You’re not supposed to be here yet.’ He said, you raised an eyebrow ad stepped forward. Spencer stepped in front of you again.
‘What are you doing Spencer?’ You asked because of his peculiar behaviour.
‘Nothing.’ He said, placing a quick kiss before turning and heading back towards the direction of the kitchen. You were about to take a step forward when you heard him shout.
‘Don’t move.’ You sighed, you made most of the time by kicking off your heels, and taking off you suit jacket.
You heard a bang stuff hitting the ground with Spencer swearing.
‘Spencer?’ You asked. When he didn’t answer, you stepped forward, walking towards the kitchen. You opened the door and gasped as you took in the mess.
‘I told you to stay out there.’ Spencer whined, only then you looked up and saw the candle light kitchen. Your hands went to your mouth and you couldn’t help the smile forming.
‘Why did you do this?’ You asked him, as you walked over to the table and saw your favourite meal and wine sitting out.
‘You sounded stressed on the phone and I thought you needed to relax when you came back so I decided to cook.’ He explained as he finished picking up the pots and pans that he dropped.
‘Oh Spencer.’ You said as you turned around and wrapped your arms around him. Placing your lips onto his and bringing your hands up to his cheeks. You pulled back and looked at him.
‘Thank you.’ You told him. he smiled.
‘Anything for you.’ He replied, before going in for another kiss.
