Can't Lose You
Requested by Anon - Thanks! Can I request a story where Voight is suspicious about his girlfriend? Voight was kinda avoiding the reader after Al's death and when he comes back to work he notices his girlfriend is very close to Jay. One day, he follows her and sees her meeting Jay in his flat. Shit happens and after they have a long chat, she tells him she was not cheating on him. Jay was trying to help her understand why Voight was avoiding her. ‘Hank, do you want anything?’ You asked him as he sat at his desk, he didn’t look up only continued staring out the window before he gave a grunt in response. You didn’t say anything else, only backed out the room before shutting the door and made your way over to your desk. ‘How is he?’ Erin questioned. ‘The same.’ Was all you responded with.
You wrapped your scarf around your neck as you walked out the building and towards your car, you got into oblivious to Hank that was sitting two cars behind you. When you started the engine and pulled out the spot, he started following you. He was shocked when you pulled up outside Jay’s apartment, even more so when you walked up to the door and chapped it, Jay pulling you in for a hug immediately. He felt his blood boil at the thought that came to the front of his brain straight away, he tried to shake it away, but it stayed their engraved.
‘Hank, what are you doing here?’ You asked shocked to see him. He took in your appearance as he walked up, the snow that had started falling crunching under his weight. ‘Can I come in?’ He questioned, you nodded and opened your door, walking in before he followed you. You both took of your jackets and hung them up, you didn’t say anything to him as you walked into the kitchen and reached up for two mugs. ‘What were you doing with Jay?’ Hank asked as he stood behind you. ‘Talking.’ You told him a you boiled the kettle and putting the teabag into the cup. ‘Is that all?’ He questioned as you put coffee into the other mug. ‘Yes.’ You replied. ‘Are you sure?’ He questioned. ‘Yes.’ You said again, you heard him sigh behind you. ‘Are you cheating on me?’ He questioned you turned to him full speed and stared at him. ‘How dare you.’ You snarled, you watched as his face contorted into anger, but you didn’t give him a change to act on it. ‘If your going to think that lowly of me, leave.’ You commanded him, as you pointed at the door, mug in hand. ‘Oh wait you won’t because you only belong to me, right?’ You said, repeating the words he told you when he admitted that he loved you. ‘So, you wouldn’t have noticed how the whole team was affected when we lost Al? You also wouldn’t have noticed that you drank all day and all night, didn’t talk to any of them, or me!’ You told him, your anger coming through now. You swallowed thickly as you sat the cup down in front of you, so you wouldn’t be tempted to through it. ‘I lost one of my best friends, but at the same time I lost you.’ You told him honestly, you watched as his face changed. ‘I was with Jay because I was wondering if it was me, that was making you fade away.’ You explained to him and his face completely fell. ‘I thought I had done something to upset you.’ You sad, your voice breaking. You then turned back to the counter and started to boil the kettle, blinking rapidly to get rid of the tears that were brimming your eyes. Once the kettle was boiled you made the tea and coffee, grabbing the mugs and setting his on the table, as you walked past him and took your seat on the couch. You leant against the arm as you tucked your legs under you. You took a sip of the tea, as you heard him walk over to you, before crouching down and removing the mug from your hands. He then took your hands in his before pressing his lips to them. ‘I’m sorry.’ He said, his voice deep and full of emotion. You finally made eye contact with him and sighed. ‘I know you are.’ You told him. ‘But you hurt me, and I almost thought I had lost you.’ You told him truthfully, he nodded as he rested his head in your lap. ‘I could have saved him, it should have been me.’ He sobbed, your heart broke as he hugged your thighs tightly. You ran your hands through his hair comfortingly as he continued to sob, you felt his tears seep through your trousers. ‘Don’t say that.’ You said. ‘It shouldn’t have been any of you. We all wish it wasn’t him, but it was.’ You said, as he looked up from your lap, his eyes red and bloodshot as he watched you closely. ‘I can’t lose you as well.’ He admitted, you smiled sadly at him as you wiped the tears away from his cheeks. ‘And you won’t.’ You told him whole heartedly
