summary: Voight is having an affair with the head detective of internal affairs wife, (y/n), but things take a nasty turn when her husband finds out.
warnings: violence
note: inspired by season one of Chicago PD
Voight’s hand trailed up and down (y/n)s side running circles around her soft flesh, watching the sun beam hit against her naked skin. He softly brushed his had across her cheek hoping not to wake her as he admired her beauty. Voight hadn’t felt this way about another person in a long time. After all these years, he was opening his heart to something more.
Her eyes slowly stirred awake. She smirked softly as she covered her face from the sun. Her head nuzzled against his neck taking in the lingering scent of cologne.
“You have to wake up?” Voight’s husky voice hit her ears. She ran her hand at the top of his head and down against the back of his neck. Small kisses fluttered across his jaw and cheeks.
“Do I have to?” She sighed, propping herself up to get a better look at his face. His brown eyes intensely looked into hers.
“Your husband will be home soon.” He said with a straight face. (Y/n)s mood immediately changed.
She knew what she was doing was wrong. She had a husband at home, but he treated her poorly. He cared more about taking down Voight and their marriage became second. That’s what made it even more surprising when she ended up having an affair with him. She never planned on it getting this far, but now she had fallen in love.
(Y/n) came clean to Voight not too long ago. At first he found it humorous, how he ended up in bed with the man’s wife that was trying to take him down. It was until he realized that he too had feelings for her when things became serious. The affair had continued on, but deep down Voight was hesitant.
“You know I plan on leaving him, right?” He starred at her letting the silence linger. She grabbed his shirt from the edge of the bed, tossing it on.
“When?” Voight finally responded.
“I’m telling him tonight.”
“You’re not lying to me are you?” She shook her head no and leaned over to give him a quick kiss on the lips. He grabbed her wrist to pull her in closer. “If he does anything to you, you call me.”
(Y/n) smiled giving him another kiss on the lips. She stood up, allowing his shirt to fall down to her waist. Her reflection in the mirror caught her attention. Her cold hand glided over her stomach and hips.
“Do I look bigger to you?” She cocked her head to the side trying to get a closer look. Voight smiled at her through the mirror.
“You’re beautiful.” His voice commanded.
After her morning with Voight, (y/n) decided to run some errands before heading back to her husband. She knew breaking the news that she wanted a divorce was going to cause tension. Miles was possessive in ways and the moment he found out the other man was Voight she was screwed.
She left the dainty boutique with a small bag in her hand. Retail therapy to calm her nerves. Voight always made sure to give her a little cash, knowing Miles controlled everything.
(Y/n) was about to put her key into the knob when Miles opened the door snatching her inside. Her heart sank into her stomach as she stumbled into the house. He slammed her against the wall squeezing her forearms tightly.
“Who were you with?” He yelled.
“No- no one.” She choked. A tingling sensation ran across her cheek as the tears began to form.
“I know you were with Voight.” Miles shoved her to the ground. She barely managed to catch herself before hitting the wooden floors. (Y/n) kicked him between the legs as she darted off from the floor to get away from him.
Her hand twisted the metal of the door knob before Miles grabbed her again. (Y/n)s screams echoed across the room. Her nails clawed at his arms trying to get him to unhand her.
The whole brawl felt like it had lasted for hours. She sat on the ground with her back against the wall. Her breathing was heavy as Miles toward over (y/n) with blood dripping from his nose. Never in a million years did she think she would be fighting her own husband this way. Things had never gone this far.
“You knew I was investigating him and you are out here sleeping with him!” The veins in his neck started to pop.
“He’s not that kind of guy.” She whispered. Miles grabbed her shirt, lifting her up onto her feet.
“Voight doesn’t love you.” He let go of her shirt. “He’s only using you to get to me.” Miles walked away, shoving a vase down to the ground in the process.
(Y/n) took out her phone. She was about to call Voight but stopped for a moment. Her hands trembled knowing what Voight could do if he found out. She grabbed her purse and stormed out of the house.
Chicago Med was jammed pack, but she waited patiently in the emergency room for her name to be called. They prepared her hospital bed to examine her. Cuts and bruises across her arms and face.
“Is there anyone you want us to call?” The nurse questioned.
“Actually, can you-“ she was abruptly cut off.
“(Y/n).” Voight stood behind the nurse making his way over to the bed. He grabbed her hand and held it tightly. She could see the anger behind his eyes. “Did he do this to you?” Voight continued.
“He’s never been this angry. Miles has never hurt me before.” Her voice shook. How was she supposed to explain the reason behind Miles actions.
“If he comes near you again he’s a dead man.”
“Mrs.(Y/l/n),” the doctor looked over at Voight, “we need to speak to about something. Is he okay to be in here?” (Y/n) nodded her head yes.
“What’s wrong doctor?” Voight replied.
“Nothing is actually wrong. We wanted to let you know that the baby didn’t withstand any serious injuries; however, we do want to monitor you for the night.” (Y/n)s eyes widened looking over at Voight.
“I didn’t- how far along?” She held Voight’s hand tighter.
“10 weeks.” The doctor smiled. “I take it the two of you didn’t know. I’ll give you some time.” The doctor left the room.
“Voight, I swear I didn’t know.” She pleaded. With the day she had, she didn’t know how to process the news.
He kissed her forehead. They both knew it was his baby. She had been so distant from her husband the last six months, there was no doubt Voight was the father.
“I know.” He smiled at her. His free hand made its way to her stomach. “I’ll do better with this one. I can promise you that.”
For a brief moment (y/n) felt relieved. That relief quickly faded when she remembered Miles and his investigation. Panic consumed her mind and body.
“What about Miles? I don’t want him to know about the baby.”
“I’ll take care of Miles. You take care of our little one.” Voight calmly responded.
Hello beautiful, just wanted to thank for writing stories and giving us reader some of your time. I don't know if you are open for requests but I give it a try. 🤍🙏 I'm in desperate need of a voightx reader fic, angsty hurt and comfort and fluff. Maybe you like my idea or get some inspiration to write something similar.
The reader is working with intelligence and Voight is instantly taken aback by her appearance. She is also attracted to Hank. But they keep their feelings for each other hidden. One night the goes out for drinks and in their tipsy state the reader and Hank make out.... The next day Voight is giving her the silent treatment and is also cold and unfriendly to her, just ignoring the fact they kissed. His unfair behavior goes on for days until she gets him to talk to her, telling her that is was was mistake and she should move on leaves her feeling more hurt and heartbreak than ever. The situation is also taking a physically toll on her, with no appetite and her deathly sick appearance the team instantly worries.
We all know Voight would think he can't give her what she needs or be good enough fir this kind and beautiful girl.
Later on there's a guy hitting on her and Voight pushes her to date the stranger (secretly dying from jealousy, but believing another man can give her all she needs). The date ends catastrophic when she realizes that the guy drugged her, secretly and in panic she calls voight in her dizzy and weakening state and manages to tell him the bar they're currently. Not able to defend herself in her drugged state the guy is able to drag her to his car in the parking lot. She's struggling and fighting for her life, he gets frustrated and beat her up..... Voight comes just in time and keeps the guy from kidnapping her. Nearly conscious and beaten Hank takes her to his house to attend her injuries and to take care of her. Some fluffy end in which he admits his feelings for her... 🤍🙏
Currently I am sucker for caretaker fics, with sick and hurt reader. The intelligence team would be soo cute taking care and at a Hank Voight who hides his feelings and worries for the girl just get me 😍
I am soooo sorry for this long request, but I have this idea in my head since forever and I just needed it to share, in desperate hope a talented writer might create a good story. Don't hesitate to tell me if this sucks.
Lot's of love 🤍
Eat the World Raw
Authors Notes: This is an anon request, of super protective yet jealous Voight. I hope I have done your request justice anon, my apologies for the serious delay on this I have a hideously busy job these days and I find it hard to find writing time.
Summary: Reader is a new starter on the Intelligence Unit, and is instantly taken with Voight. After sharing a drunken moment, Voight pushes reader away. But a panicked phone call changes everything.
Warnings: Mentions of drink spiking and assault. Angst and fluff too. If you feel there should be any other warnings, please do let me know.
"Hey Boss, the new recruit is here." Antonio called out to Voight, as he walked you to your new desk. Dropping your bag to the side, you pulled off your coat.
"Thank you Detective, I appreciate your help." Smiling, Antonio nodded his head,
"Call me Tonio, everyone else does. Come on, we can get you some coffee, you're gonna need it." Nodding, you followed him to the break room. Tonio gave you the rundown of the most recent case the team was working on. A gang was currently running drugs through the city, and the intelligence unit was still unsure of how they were managing to go undetected.
"Wow... that sounds like a lot. You know, I worked a case once where a gang was using the postal service to distribute their drugs. The leaders brother used to work for them, and kept a master mailbox key." Antonio looked surprised,
"Huh... that... could actually be plausible."
"'TONIO!" Whipping his head round, he watched as Voight stalked in, a deep frown on his face.
"I thought you said the new starter was... here..." His voice trailed off as his gaze focused on you. You felt your breath leave you, as though you had been gut punched. You'd been told a lot about Voight, had been told what a hardass he was. Never taking no for an answer, scaring off more teammates and pissing off coworkers more than anyone else in the CPD. What you wasn't prepared for, was for how handsome he was. Yes, he was at least twenty years older than you but you couldn't help yourself, you let your eyes roam over him. From his boots, all the way to the black button down shirt with a black leather jacket over the top.
Clearing his throat, Antonio stepped forward.
"Boss this is (Y/N). I've already brought her up to speed with the case, and she's actually given a decent idea of how the drugs could be being moved around the city." Antonio frowned, looking at Voight, and then to you.
"Boss?"
"Huh... yeah?" Clearing his throat, Voight gave a tight smile and held out his hand.
"Nice to meet you (Y/N), glad you're all caught up." Averting his gaze, he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Uh... Tonio, I need you to run down a lead. It's the one that Ruzek brought us yesterday, take the newbie." Looking back up at you, he gave a small smile and quickly turned around heading back to his office.
"Um... he seems... intense." Your voice sounded shaky. You quickly took a large gulp of coffee, wincing as it scolded your throat.
"Yeah he um... I think he's a bit stressed right now." Tonio frowned, then quickly smiled.
"Okay, let's go." Striding back out, you grabbed your coat and badge. Risking a quick glance behind you, you saw Voight in his office watching you.
--------------------------------------
The case took a nasty turn. The gang that was peddling drugs, seemed to have looped kids into their dealings. Picking the weak and neglected kids whose parents wouldn't give a shit as to their whereabouts. You kept your head down, working hard and not getting underfoot. Learning the ways and methods the team worked, but you could start to feel the pressure of this case sinking into your bones. You felt angry that innocent kids were being used, and made to believe that they were cared for. You rubbed your face, the night had settled around you causing the light from your screen to become harsh to your eyes.
"Hey (Y/N), it's late. Come on, we're all going for a drink." Glancing up, Halstead smiled from his desk as everyone else pulled on their coats, shutting down their computers. huffing out a sigh your stretched.
"Yeah sure... okay sounds good."
You all headed to Molly's, grabbing a booth in the back you sat and powered through a few beers. As the mood lightened, jokes started to fly around along with casual conversation. Soon you found yourself laughing at Ruzek and his ridiculous stories.
"There room for one more?" Glancing behind you, you found Voight staring down at you intently. Swallowing hard, you nodded and shifted your chair over.
"Sure thing Boss." Voight grabbed a chair and sat next to you.
"Thanks, and when we're not on shift, you can call me Hank." Smiling, you took a sip of your drink. Feeling more confident, mainly because of the ten or so beers flowing through you, you leant in closer to Voight.
"Thanks. So... Hank... how has your day been?" Smiling, Hank watched you for a moment, then lent in further.
"Well it has been busy... but I think we are making good progress, and the drinks are certainly helping right now." With that he took a large gulp of bourbon, causing a colour to rise in his cheeks.
The night continued, with the team drinking and laughing. The more you drank, you found yourself relaxing into your seat which incidentally lead to you leaning further into Hank. You enjoyed the warmth that came from him, the smell of his cologne, the deep laugh that vibrated out of his chest. You tried not to squirm as you felt yourself becoming flushed with excitement.
"Okay guys... I need to get to bed. I'd like it to be at least a month before I drunkenly embarrass myself. " The others laughed and jeered, trying to persuade you to stay as you pulled on your coat.
"I'm gonna head off too, (Y/N) I'll walk you out." Waving bye to everyone, you headed to the door, your mind racing at the thought of Hank being so close behind you. Rummaging in your bag you found your phone, pulling up a taxi app.
"How you getting home?" Looking up, you smiled and showed him your phone.
"I was going to get a cab."
"Ah, don't worry about that I'll give you a ride. Come on."
"Oh you don't have to..."
"I know I don't have to, but I want to. It's late and I can at least know you're safe." Dropping your phone back into your bag, you pulled your jacket closer around you.
"Then lead the way Boss." Smirking at him, as he raised an eyebrow, he lead you across the street to his truck. Climbing in, you sank into a soft leather chair. The air was heavy with Hanks smell, and coffee.
"So... where do you live?" Shutting the door behind him, Hank started the truck and turned on the heater. Giving him your address, you pulled your seatbelt on. The drive was quiet, but not uncomfortable. Hank maneuvered the truck smoothly through the light city traffic, occasionally asking you questions about your previous jobs. Before you knew it, you were outside your house. Stopping the truck, he placed his arm behind your chair, quietly watching you.
"Thank you, Voight. I appreciate the lift."
"You're welcome sweethear'." You felt a heat creep over your face at the endearment. You dropped your gaze not wanting him to see.
"Well um... goodnight. I..." Before you could finish your sentence, Hank had tilted your face up, his hand remaining under your jaw.
"Just... a taste." You blinked and felt as his lips pressed against yours. Moaning quietly, you reached your hand up grazing the back of his neck. Pulling him in closer to you. You're not sure at what point it happened, but you ended up pulled into Hanks lap, slowly kissing him for what felt like hours. Humming quietly, he pressed his head against yours.
"I um... I should probably go. I need to be fresh for tomorrow... I don't want my boss to get pissed at me." Smiling, Hank let you shift out of his lap and into the passenger seat again.
"I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bright and early boss." Climbing out you headed into your house, Hank remaining outside until you had locked your front door. Hank rubbed his face and pulled his truck out onto the main road. What the fuck had he done.
-------------------------------------------
The next morning Hank got to the office bright and early. He didn't want to be disturbed by anyone. This case was starting to piss him off, and he didn't want to fuck around chasing any more dead beat leads. He noticed as the rest of the team trickled in, all of them having a haggard look that suggested they'd all drunk a bit too much last night. He noticed how you watched him through the blinds of his office, like you was waiting for him to call you in for a chat. He probably should talk to you, but he just couldn't do it right now. He was too pissed at himself to even consider having a civilised conversation.
He made sure he kept busy for the rest of the day, he didn't want to speak to anyone unless needed. He chased down lead after lead until he managed to find one that was promising. After ten hours, and a painful conversation with a local informant, Voight managed to track the ring leader down and haul him and his gang into lockup. He left Antonio and Burgess shutting down the lab, and bagging up evidence.
"(Y/N), with me." nodding quickly, you followed Voight out into the stations car park.
"I'm sorry about last night, I shouldn't have... I shouldn't have kissed you."
"I didn't mind Hank, I actually enjoyed..."
"No... it won't be happening again. I am too old for you, and I won't be able to give you anything that you want. So it's best to just... forget about it okay." It killed him to see the pain and hurt in your eyes.
"Hank I..."
"It was a mistake (Y/N), okay?" He didn't meant to raise his voice, but he saw the anger building in you.
"Not a problem Boss, I've already forgotten." Watching you march back into the building, he groaned inwardly, kicking himself for his tactless approach.
For the next few weeks, Voight watched as you worked alongside the team, effortlessly working leads and solving case after case. He couldn't stand how pale you had become, how when everyone else had lunch you seemed to find a reason not to eat with them.
"(Y/N), eat something will you. I don't want you passing out on shift." Whipping your head round, you glared at Voight as he stalked past you. Grinding your teeth, you forced yourself to answer.
"Sir." Grabbing your coat, you nodded to 'Tonio.
"I'm heading out for some food, want anything?" 'Tonio shook his head,
"Na I'm good, thanks (Y/N)." Nodding, you headed out.
You didn't realise how hungry you were until you were half way through a footlong sub from the local deli. Your stomach ached in protest and delight at the amount of food you were consuming. You couldn't help but think about how Voight had kissed you that night, it had felt glorious. You hadn't dated anyone for a few years, hadn't really had the time. You'd enjoyed your job too much. But when Voight had kissed you, you felt a new rush, a new thrill. Then the fucker had ditched you.
"Asshole." Throwing your rubbish in the bin, you headed back into the office. Taking the stairs two at a time, you wasn't focused on the people around you and you slammed into someone.
"Shit... I'm sorry I wasn't watching." Glancing up you found a guy in front of you smiling.
"(Y/N)! Christ I haven't seen you in years." Focusing on the face attached to the voice, you saw it was Jacob. A guy you had gone through the academy with. Huffing out a breath, you gave a wane smile.
"Hey, Jacob. How you doing?" Nodding, he grinned, stepping closer to you.
"Yeah I'm good thanks, I'm working over with homicide now."
"Sweet." You shifted your gaze, looking up to where you wanted to go. He glanced behind you, eyes going wide.
"Are you... you up in Intelligence?"
"uh-huh."
"Holy shit that is amazing, I've heard Voight is a right hardass... is that true?"
"I can be when pushed." Jacobs eyes widened as he spun round.
"Um... sorry Sir, I didn't mean anything by it." Smirking Voight clapped him on the shoulder,
"Don't sweat it. (Y/N), when you're ready we've got a lead to run down." Turning, Voight headed up the stairs to the rest of the team.
"I should head up." Moving to follow Voight, Jacob caught your arm.
"Hey do you fancy grabbing a drink tonight, after work?" Glancing up the stairs you saw Voight had slowed down, probably trying to over hear your conversation.
"Um... yeah I'll uh... I'll let you know. Big case, not sure what time I'll be finished."
"Yeah... yeah okay sounds good." Heading up the stairs, you caught Voights eye.
"Hey... you dating that guy?" Frowning, you glanced up at him.
"I... no I went through the academy with him. He just asked if I wanted to meet for a drink."
"Hmm... you should go. You're a young woman, you should get out from behind the desk." Watching him closely, you leaned in looking for any hint of a joke.
"You... okay sure, why not." Turning on your heel you marched into the office heading straight to your desk to phone Jacob. If Voight insisted you go, then you'll go. If only you'd turned round, you'd have seen the fury burning in his eyes.
-------------------------------------------
Checking your reflection, you smiled. You'd picked your best emerald green dress, it dipped low at the front and hugged at your hips just right. You felt good for the first time in a while.
"Forget Voight." Grabbing your coat and bag, you headed out the door.
You found Jacob at the bar sipping on a beer, spotting you he grinned.
"Wow... you look amazing!" Grinning, you pulled your coat off and placed it over the bar stool.
"Thank you, you scrub up well yourself." Gesturing to the bartender, you ordered a red wine.
"Cheers." Taking a big sip you smiled. You looked around the bar, seeing all the different people chatting and drinking. You felt yourself relax a bit into your seat.
"So... how's your case going?" Looking up, you were stalled for moment.
"Uh... yeah it's going okay. It's a tough case but we're getting there." You didn't overly want to chat about work, as it reminded you of Voight. Jacob seemed to get the hint as you didn't expand any further on the subject. You sat quietly for a moment, just sipping on your drink. After a while, you both seemed to just relax into a conversation, reliving the academy days minutes passing into hours.
"You feeling okay?" Jacobs voice seemed to pull you out of a blurred moment that you didn't remember going into.
"Hmm? oh... yeah I'm fine, I'm just... gonna head to the bathroom okay?" Smiling, he nodded.
"Okay, well uh... shall we head out after this? Maybe find somewhere to get food?" Standing up, you nodded holding onto your chair for dear life.
"Yeah that's fine." Grabbing your bag, you headed to the bathroom, feeling your legs wobble and your head start to swirl. Pulling in a deep breath, you focused on the toilet door, not wanting to look more drunk than you were.
Pushing open the door, you leant on the sink and stared at your reflection. Your pupils looked blown, but you couldn't tell. You couldn't focus. You tried to remember how many drinks you'd had, tried to remember anything but it was all becoming a hazy dream.
"Shit.." Stumbling into a toilet stall, you locked the door behind you and rummaged in your bag pulling out your phone. You truly hoped you'd punched in the right number.
"(Y/N)?" Hanks voice cut through the phone, relief flooded through you.
"Han..k... I need... come help... been drugged."
"Where are you!" You felt yourself slowly drifting off.
Voight drove like a madman, sirens blaring not caring who he cut off in the process. Hold on, please god hold on. The streets were a blur as they flashed past him in a haze of lights and noise. Pulling into the car park, Voight spotted a guy hauling a woman to his car. Stepping out, he recognised it as Jacob. Picking up his pace, he started towards him catching your voice as he got closer.
"No... get off you sick fuck."
"Stop struggling... you know you're going to love it." Hank watched as you swung at him catching him in the mouth, but it didn't stop there. Jacob slapped you, and punched you in the stomach. Hank was at his back within seconds. Grabbing him by the hair, he slammed his face into the side of the car, continuing to punch him as he slid to the ground. He wouldn't have stopped, could have killed him had it not been for your voice calling to him.
"Hank..." Looking behind him, he saw you stirring on the floor blood pouring from your mouth.
"Shit... (Y/N), I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Scooping you up, he carried you to his car putting you in the passenger seat. Peeling out of the car park, he sped away from the bar. Glancing over at you he took your hand,
"Hey, (Y/N) stay awake alright. We're nearly there." You let your head lull to the side, the warm air from the heater and the blow to the head making you sleepy.
"Where's there?" you murmured out.
"Home."
-------------------------------------------
Waking up, your head felt heavy, your vision blurred. Rubbing a hand over your face, you realised you no longer had your dress on but a soft t-shirt with the letter CPD stamped on the chest. Your body ached, and yet you felt content in the soft confines of the duvet.
"Hmm... s'good."
"(Y/N)?" Glancing to the side, you found Voight sitting in a chair next to your bed.
"Hey, um... what am I doing here?" Reaching out, Voight took your hand and held onto it gently.
"You rang me last night, you went out for a drink with the Jacob guy and ah... he um... he spiked your drink." Frowning, you tried to remember but all you could think of was the toilet stall you had sat in.
"I got there just as he was dragging into his car, but you resisted and uh.. he hit you a few times."
"I um... christ I don't remember much I'm sorry Boss. Guess that's why my head hurts hmm?"
"What! No, don't be sorry, that scumbag is the one who should be sorry not you! I'm... I'm just glad I was able to get you out before... well I'm glad I got to you." Smiling you squeezed his hand with yours,
"Thanks Boss."
"'Tonio checked into your boy, and he's not a cop, well not any more at least. He didn't make it passed being a beat cop, he assaulted two women so he got fired." You felt your stomach churn.
"Well... maybe next time I should get you guys to run a background check on whoever I plan on going for a drink with hmm?" Dropping your head back into the pillow you winced as pain flared through your eyes. Looking around the room, you saw that it was rather warm and, oddly enough, cosy.
"We won't need to do that." Voight sounded a little nervous, something you had never thought he could be. Tilting your head, you gazed at him intently,
"And why's that hmm?"
"Because I'm not a creep who preys on women, so you'll be safe."
"Wha..?" Sighing, he shifted out of his chair to sit on the edge of the bed, running his other hand over your hair. It only occured to you now that this was Hanks house, Hanks bedroom, Hanks shirt that you were wearing.
"I shouldn't have encouraged you to go on a date with that guy. What I should have done, was date you myself. But instead I... I got nervous. Nervous that you'd see I wasn't anything but an old, beat up cop too stuck in his ways to make you happy in the ways that matter." Sitting yourself up, you leaned into Voight and kissed him. You wasn't sure how long it lasted, or when he had gently pushed you back leaning into you. Running your hands up his arms, you traced your fingers over his broad back. Breaking away, you pressed your head against his,
"You know, you never even asked what makes me happy. If you'd had just asked, I think we would have saved a lot of time... and spiked drinks." Smirking at him, he shook his head.
"Yeah I know, I'm a dumbass." Laughing at him, you brushed your hand over his jaw.
"I'll let you off, on one condition." Voight raised an eyebrow, and hummed quietly.
" You um... take these jeans off and stay in bed with me for the day hmm?"
"Yes Ma'am, you don't have to ask me twice." Standing he slowly unbuckled his belt, and unbuttoned the jeans. You felt a heat build in your face and stomach. This was going to be... an interesting day.
Day 2 of my Month of May Writing Challenge: I’m really not sure what this is but enjoy! It’s a Halstead! sister reader x essentially intelligence unit. Idk how to tag this one tbh but it just came to me.
Title: Village
Your POV
You were an anxious person who had a brother who worked for a specialized elite unit in the police force and you liked crime drama shows, so it was no brainer your brain thought of all the irrational scenarios for you to be kidnapped. Like walking to the Target and getting grabbed by someone hidden in the bushes. You drop your phone and the only way anyone knows you're missing is because you do a no call no show at work. Or maybe you're at your door unlocking the gate but it’s taking you a hot second because you're carrying a tray of coffee for you and your siblings. A guy who was watching you for days sees their opportunity and grabs you, inevitably getting you to drop your drinks. Your brothers find out you're missing when they look outside and see your keys, backpack, and tray of drinks spilled out on the ground.
Realistically you know the likelihood of any of these things happening is low, but you're still on guard.
That’s why when you find yourself being chased by a man dressed as a construction worker, you're scared but not fully shocked.
Reaching your brother’s house, you bang on the door with the palm of your hand hoping he or his wife is home and will open the door. Looking back, you can see the man in the distance still running. Knocking harder, you pray someone will open the door. You can feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when you realize the man in question is getting closer and before you have time to knock a third time, you feel yourself being lifted. You begin to wriggle about in his arms and begin to open your mouth to scream, but before you have the chance he clamps a hand over your mouth.
“Be a good little girl and swallow the pill” he chastises while yanking your head back to take in the pill he had in the palm of his hand.
You really don’t want to swallow it, but your reflexes kick in and before you know it whatever he had given you, you had swallowed.
“Good girl” he praises as he drags you away from the door and towards an awaiting van.
When you wake up, you find yourself tied to a pole in the center of a room. Looking around, you figure you're in a basement somewhere. You pray Jay realizes you’re missing and has started looking for you.
Jay POV
It was a slow paperwork day at the office. Nobody seemed too interested in the paperwork we were doing. 5pm couldn’t come fast enough. Y/N was supposed to be getting her homework done on time so that we could enjoy a nice relaxing movie to end the work/school week.
I knew Y/N was an anxious kid and had a wild imagination. I also knew my job was inherently dangerous so to make sure I could keep an eye on not only Y/N but also the house we lived at, I installed a ring camera and had the feed hooked up to my phone. So anytime someone came to the house I would be alerted. Y/N did not know this cause she didn’t need her imagination running more wild with the possibilities of what could happen.
While typing away on my computer, my phone lights up with a notification that someone is at the door. I decide it’s best to finish my thoughts in the report before looking.
When I do eventually look I catch the tail end of someone dragging my sister away and she looks passed out.
“Voight!” I call out while rewinding the ring camera to see a frantic Y/N continuously check behind her back and then see the man grab her.
The team gathers around and watches.
“Adam, Kim, see if we can get facial rec off this partial facial grab” states Voight while putting a hand on my shoulder and squeezing it.
I can’t believe my sister got kidnapped and I didn’t catch it cause I was doing stupid paperwork!
Your POV
The man had just left the room and all you could do was sob! He roughed you up a bit and told you that you had to be a good little girl, let him call you Saddie and if you did what he told you then you wouldn’t be chained up anymore. You just wanted to go home.
Jay’s POV
Voight is letting me help with the case, but I have to stay on desk duty.
“We got a name! His name is Richard Klutz. His rap sheet includes aggravated assault, mandated anger management therapy, possession with intent to sell, and get this he was a good citizen up until 3 years ago.” spoke Kim while Adam put up photos and wrote on the whiteboard.
“What changed” I asked while swallowing the nausea I was feeling just thinking about my sister being in the hands of this monster.
“His 13 year old daughter died from Leukemia.” stated Kim.
The team got to work trying to locate a location that Richard might be at. But we came up empty, until Hailey realized that maybe a family home if his daughter was what made him go off the deep end.
“1455 S Archer, he is still paying property taxes on the place. It didn’t come up in the initial search cause the house is under his ex's name.” I said from my desk.
“Let’s roll out!” called Voight. I watched as everyone grabbed coats and began to shuffle out. I prayed my sister wasn’t hurt too badly! I couldn’t wait to get the call to head to the hospital to see her!
Your POV
The man, who had begun referring to himself as daddy, had beat me up some more and was now in the process of cutting my hair. My hair isn’t that long to begin with, it’s just past my shoulders, but he is trying to make it like a pixie cut, but he is using kitchen sheers and it hurts and I just know it my heart it’s going to be a botched job I’m going to have to pay to get fixed.
“There, all pretty” he sing songed while petting my now pixie short hair.
I scowled and spit out, “go to hell”
Before he could punch me again for cursing I heard the door upstairs and footsteps. The team found me!
“Down here!” I screamed while smirking at the man.
A rush of footsteps came barreling down the wooden staircase and I smiled in relief when I saw Adam, Kim, Kevin, and Hailey!
Adam and Kevin tackled the man and both Hailey and Kim came to untie me. Once untied I fell into Hailey’s arms and sobbed!
“It’s okay babygirl, we got you, you’re safe now” she reassured me.
Third Person POV
At the hospital Jay met everyone. Ethan confirmed that Y/N didn’t need to stay overnight, but she did need to stay for a few hours to get rehydrated from an IV and get her wounds cleaned. Dr. Charles also came for a visit and they discussed that even though she had thought of all these various scenarios happening to her, this was definitely not her fault and she was not asking for it. He also recommended she had some one on one therapy to manage her anxiety going forward and to also have family therapy with Will and Jay to help her voice her thoughts about them having dangerous and time consuming jobs. And also so that Will and Jay can learn how to communicate with her about important things without feeling like by doing so they are going to trigger her anxiety.
Hailey and Kim decided that they would take Y/N for a girls day. They got a haircut to fix her botched pixie. Then they went for mani & pedis.
Kevin and Adam decided they were going to do their own day with her, which included teaching her self defense moves and ended with teaching her how to play video games after she kicked Adam a little too hard in the nuts.
Voight’s way to help Y/N through her trauma was to take care of Richard Klutz and make sure he left town and never came back.
Through it all, Y/N and the Halsteads realized that it truly does take a village to raise someone and damn do they have a village around them!
I understand if you don’t wanna write this but if you’re up for it could you write a hc for how Voight and Herrmann would react if they found out the reader was cutting ❤️
note: hope it's okay that this is poly. :) i wasn't sure. but thank you for trusting me with this request.

• the day you started craving a way to feel alive was the day that you faked a smile for the first time in awhile.
• you luckily snatched two incredible and handsome men one day when you walked into molly's bar. to say you were happy with them would be an understatement.
• but lately, you've felt alone.
• and being in a relationship with two men while saying you felt that way wasn't something to take lightly.
• they were so close to you...yet so far at the same time.
• the cases over at the precinct spiked, some gang wars were happening and other innocent bystanders were harmed. crime in general went up.
• voight was the type to follow it through the whole way. so, he rarely came home.
• herrmann had been promoted to lieutenant after finally deciding it was time to move up.
• that resulted in his work hours becoming longer due to having to stay later and finish paperwork for calls they receieved during shift.
• you had normal work hours and often woke up and fell asleep to an empty bed.
• by the time your boyfriends appeared, the tears on the pillowcase were dried.
• the blood in the sink was cleaned.
• and if you were feeling like absolute hell that day, the shower water easily cleared the red droplets right up.
• but there was one day that they both put in to come home earlier to spend time with you.
• but in the end, it came to a surprise for the three of you.
• they were calling your name as soon as they stepped through the door.
• you had some music playing on your phone to fill the silence you were always used to while dragging the razor across your wrist in a delicate motion.
• a small stream of red fell out of the wound, a breathless sigh of content fell past your lips.
• but as soon as the door to the bathroom opened. your breath hitched in fear.
• looking around the tub for something to get the assailant with was something voight engraved into your mind.
• but also being cautious of your surroundings was something herrmann had taught you.
• was all hard to do in a span of only a second.
• especially with blood falling from your wrist.
• but when the two men saw the sight of you, it was like their heart was getting split in half.
• voight walked over to the tub on wobbly legs and fell to his knees.
• herrmann got on his phone quickly and dialed 9-1-1 while handing voight two hand towels to wrap around your wrist.
• because when they opened the door, it startled you and caused the sharp razor to dig a little deeper then usual into your wrist.
• but it was an accident and you kept trying to tell voight that with a whisper but he hushed you with a hoarse voice despite the gravel behind it.
• "shh baby. it's ok, we'll get you help." he kept repeating. mostly to himself willing that you would be okay.
• all while trying to secure the continuously spilled red liquid with teary eyelids.
• "t-this is christopher herrmann. i w-work with the cfd at firehouse 51. my girlfriend is hurt and i need help. please send h-help and with ambulance 61 if possible."
• you felt horrible, hearing his sad voice over the phone.
• like it was your fault he could feel this way but you knew deep down he was worried for you.
• for your health mentally and physically.
• herrmann dropped down next to voight with the phone still pressed to his ear and murmured. "how's it look?"
• voight glared at him and didn't attempt to move the cloth to peer at it. "like we need an ambulance. where is it at?"
• herrmann ignored his question, the angry tone would only worry you and instead swept your hair back with a smile gracing his lips that you've always loved.
• "they'll be here soon darling, just keep your eyes open for me."
• and you did.
• while he continued to stroke your hair back and voight rubbed your cheek with such delicacy that you didn't even realize he had.
• they continued to help you until sylvie arrived.
• and only bothered her when it was time to leave, insisting they would both have to come with in the ambulance.
• and sylvie allowed them because it was her long time friend.
• and as if she couldn't with the pleading look in your eyes.
• they wouldn't leave your side the whole way there and the walk inside.
• only allowing the space when the doctor had to fix your wrist.
• and then they continued to stay by your side in the hospital room.
• herrmann and voight were each holding a hand when you opened your eyes again.
• a promise in your dilated pupils ensured the two that you'd never do it again.
Curled up on Hank Voight's lap was you. He wasn't going to complain. Your fingers drawn into fists against his chest. Your breathing slow as exhaustion began to take over.
He wrapped an arm around you, which you responded to by nuzzling into his neck. His lips curved into a small smile.
He didn't want to let go, but he knew you both had busy days ahead of you, and if you didn't get to bed soon, he'd have to carry you to bed.
"Y/N," he whispered, his thumbs rubbing up and down your curled up legs. "You can't sleep on the couch, doll."
You huffed, breathing in his cologne one more time before pulling away, pressing a kiss to his jaw.
"I love you," he murmered, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
Requested by Anon - Thanks! Can I request a story where Voight is suspicious about his girlfriend? Voight was kinda avoiding the reader after Al's death and when he comes back to work he notices his girlfriend is very close to Jay. One day, he follows her and sees her meeting Jay in his flat. Shit happens and after they have a long chat, she tells him she was not cheating on him. Jay was trying to help her understand why Voight was avoiding her. Oh, the reader works on the intelligence too.
A/N – So I haven’t gotten to this apart yet, and I am dreading it but I hope I did dome good. Also, don’t worry you didn’t spoil it for me
Characters – Hank x Reader

‘Hank, do you want anything?’ You asked him as he sat at his desk, he didn’t look up only continued staring out the window before he gave a grunt in response. You didn’t say anything else, only backed out the room before shutting the door and made your way over to your desk.
‘How is he?’ Erin questioned.
‘The same.’ Was all you responded with.
You wrapped your scarf around your neck as you walked out the building and towards your car, you got into oblivious to Hank that was sitting two cars behind you. When you started the engine and pulled out the spot, he started following you. He was shocked when you pulled up outside Jay’s apartment, even more so when you walked up to the door and chapped it, Jay pulling you in for a hug immediately. He felt his blood boil at the thought that came to the front of his brain straight away, he tried to shake it away, but it stayed their engraved.
‘Hank, what are you doing here?’ You asked shocked to see him. He took in your appearance as he walked up, the snow that had started falling crunching under his weight.
‘Can I come in?’ He questioned, you nodded and opened your door, walking in before he followed you. You both took of your jackets and hung them up, you didn’t say anything to him as you walked into the kitchen and reached up for two mugs.
‘What were you doing with Jay?’ Hank asked as he stood behind you.
‘Talking.’ You told him a you boiled the kettle and putting the teabag into the cup.
‘Is that all?’ He questioned as you put coffee into the other mug.
‘Yes.’ You replied.
‘Are you sure?’ He questioned.
‘Yes.’ You said again, you heard him sigh behind you.
‘Are you cheating on me?’ He questioned you turned to him full speed and stared at him.
‘How dare you.’ You snarled, you watched as his face contorted into anger, but you didn’t give him a change to act on it.
‘If your going to think that lowly of me, leave.’ You commanded him, as you pointed at the door, mug in hand.
‘Oh wait you won’t because you only belong to me, right?’ You said, repeating the words he told you when he admitted that he loved you.
‘So, you wouldn’t have noticed how the whole team was affected when we lost Al? You also wouldn’t have noticed that you drank all day and all night, didn’t talk to any of them, or me!’ You told him, your anger coming through now. You swallowed thickly as you sat the cup down in front of you, so you wouldn’t be tempted to through it.
‘I lost one of my best friends, but at the same time I lost you.’ You told him honestly, you watched as his face changed.
‘I was with Jay because I was wondering if it was me, that was making you fade away.’ You explained to him and his face completely fell.
‘I thought I had done something to upset you.’ You sad, your voice breaking. You then turned back to the counter and started to boil the kettle, blinking rapidly to get rid of the tears that were brimming your eyes. Once the kettle was boiled you made the tea and coffee, grabbing the mugs and setting his on the table, as you walked past him and took your seat on the couch.
You leant against the arm as you tucked your legs under you. You took a sip of the tea, as you heard him walk over to you, before crouching down and removing the mug from your hands. He then took your hands in his before pressing his lips to them.
‘I’m sorry.’ He said, his voice deep and full of emotion. You finally made eye contact with him and sighed.
‘I know you are.’ You told him.
‘But you hurt me, and I almost thought I had lost you.’ You told him truthfully, he nodded as he rested his head in your lap.
‘I could have saved him, it should have been me.’ He sobbed, your heart broke as he hugged your thighs tightly. You ran your hands through his hair comfortingly as he continued to sob, you felt his tears seep through your trousers.
‘Don’t say that.’ You said.
‘It shouldn’t have been any of you. We all wish it wasn’t him, but it was.’ You said, as he looked up from your lap, his eyes red and bloodshot as he watched you closely.
‘I can’t lose you as well.’ He admitted, you smiled sadly at him as you wiped the tears away from his cheeks.
‘And you won’t.’ You told him whole heartedly
‘ ‘ Imagine having a secret affair with Voight and on a night out at Molly’s

Warings: mentions of sex.
Requests are always open.
After a tough case it was a tradition to go out at Molly’s with the team to have a drink and release some stress. You could put in a little corner of your mind work to relax with your friends.
“ Hey, Otis, a beer please. ” when you entered the bar you raised your left hand to say hi to the bartender before going to Erin, Jay and Kim in a table near to the counter.
“ Hi guys. ” you greeted them.
“ (Y/N), ehy. Where were you? You were supposed to be here half an hour ago. ” Erin asked curiously, looking at you. You suppressed a smile.
After all the Intelligence unit had left the office, you stayed behind with Voight. And... well, let’s say you had a little fun. You’re secret affair started about three months ago, and it was fun, real fun.
Obviously the other members of the unit didn’t know and you had been very discreet. You sipped your drink.
“ My sister called from Los Angeles, and you know, when she starts talking... ” you shrugged and Erin seemed to believe you.
It almost took an hour before Voight arrived. When he entered the Molly’s your eyes locked for a second and you curved slightly your lips.
He approached you, hands in his pocket.
“ Hi Hank. ” the first one to greet him with a smile was Erin. You looked at him, maybe a little longer than needed, and smirked.
“ Sergeant. ” you lifted your beer a little and he seemed not to notice you tone. But he did. Voight noticed everything but you were in public, and he knew you liked to tease him.
“ Hi. ” he started, looking at all you guys with a little smile. Than, he looked at you.
“ I need to talk to you later, it’s important. ”
“ Why not now? ”
“ Because I have something to take care of first. Meet me in an hour out of the Molly’s. ” he said, and you nodded. Tonight it was his house.
“ Got it, sarge. See you later. ” and after a short ‘ Bye ’ he left. This time Erin didn’t seem to buy it, and so Kim and Jay.
“ What was that? ” asked Erin with an incredulous smile, and you sipped your beer nonchalantly.
“ What was what? ” you asked innocently.
“ Well, the way you were looking at him? He’s our sergeant. You really...? ” babbled Jay, and you kept playing innocent.
“ I don’t really know what you’re talking about. ”
“ Oh, you know. ” Erin sharp look seemed to pierce you. You laughed a little, looking at her.
“ Oh, c’mon. We’re talking about Voight here. Do you think he’d want a relationship with a detective in his unit? ”
“ It does’t have to be a relationship. ” pointed out Kim, who was becoming interested in your conversation. You unconfortably shifted in your seat. This was becoming dangerous, if the others found out about the affair not only Voight would’ve end this but he would’ve killed you. But you really couln’t help it.
“ Kim has a point. ” you said, and Jay got up from his seat.
“ Alright, I don’t want to hear about this anymore. This is gross. ”
“ What? Do you think Voight had never had sex before? ”
“ (Y/N)! ” Erin exclaimed, and you burst into laughter.
“ Well, I assure you it’s not as bad as you think. ” there it was. You said it. Stupid you. But nothing could repay you more than the faces of Kim, Erin and Jay.
“ ... you’re saying? ” Kim started incredulously, and you got up from your seat.
“ All right, time to go. It was nice spending time with you guys! ”
Authors note: I like the thought of Voight being super protective, he's a good man.
Summary: When a building explodes, you and Voight end up trapped in the rubble for 18 hours. However, you neglact to mention the wounds you sustained sending Voight into a panic. The only issue? The rest of 51 can't grasp why Voight cares so much about you. You're just a firefighter... right?
Warnings: Mention of serious injuries, explosions, being trapped in a collapsed building. Mention of dying but being revived. Angst, If you think there needs to be other warnings, please do let me know.

"I NEED A MEDIC NOW!" Voight came limping out from the collapsed building carrying your unconscious body. Brett was the first to get to him, then chief Boden, Ruzek, Atwater, Casey and a multitude of other people. Boden helped shift your body onto a backboard, Ruzek helping to hold up Voight.
"She... she took a load of shrapnel to the stomach. She passed out about ten minutes ago." Brett nodded, ushering Boden and the others to move you onto the ambo. Ruzek gripped Voight tighter,
"Come on boss, we need to get you seen to as well." Voight didn't want to move at first, watching as the ambo holding you sped off away from the scene.
"Boss come on, we got this." Finally agreeing, Voight let Ruzek walk him to his car.
"Keep up with that ambo." Frowning Ruzek nodded, peeling away from the chaos behind him. Voight kept quiet the whole ride to Med, he let Ruzek update him on everything that had happened between the time he went into the building, till the time he came clambering out. A huge fire had started in a building the intelligence team were watching. They had a gang under surveillance who were meant to be the newest suppliers of heroine. It seems, they were so new they didn't know how to balance the chemicals properly, causing the whole building to go up in flames. FireHouse 51 had showed up, and got to work battling the fire. It didn't take long for the fire to be put out, or it's occupants to be escorted out. Once it was clear, Voight asked Boden to be shown where it had started to see if any of their gang members were part of the new burnt features. Boden had grabbed the first person that passed, you. Of course it had been you, of all the firefighters on this job it had to be you that came past at that moment.
"(Y/N), would you be so kind to show Sergeant Voight where the fire started please?"
"Sure thing Chief." Nodding his thanks, Voight followed you into the building. You'd only been in there for a short while when something blew up, causing most of the building to come down around you, and that is where you had both become stuck for eighteen hours. EIGHTEEN! Voight had ended up with a piece of metal impaling his thigh, and you had taken shrapnel to the torso. But you hadn't told him at first, you'd wanted to help Voight and anyone else you could find.
"I'm a firefighter Hank, it's my job to help others." He could still hear your voice ringing through his head. He'd only realised something was wrong, when your face became pale. Wrenching open your fire coat, a wave of horror spread over him. You had multiple entry points in your stomach and side, and blood was slowly oozing out of all of them.
"God damnit (Y/N)!" He stripped off his outer layer, tying it around your stomach trying to stop the blood flow. He'd spent hours digging away rubble, trying to find a way out. The last time he had felt this panicked, Camille had become terminally ill. You were both lucky that you hadn't gone too far into the building when it had blown, he managed to make a gap that he could pull you both through.
"Boss?"
"WHAT!" Ruzek frowned at Voights outburst.
"I know you're angry, and injured but we're gonna get this son of a bitch okay?"
"Mmm." Nodding he turned to look back out the window, letting Ruzek's words wash over him.
Voight came down to the waiting room to find the whole of 51 in there. Boden stood up, extending his hand. Shaking it, Voight nodded at everyone in the room.
"How is she doin'?" Boden gave a frown, keeping his voice low.
"We don't know yet, they took (Y/N) in for surgery about three hours ago." Clenching his jaw, Voight put his hands in his pocket. Hermann came over, giving an appreciative smile to Voight.
"Hey uh... thanks for pulling (Y/N) out. I uh... she's on my rig and I appreciate you looking out for her."
"Don't mention it, she's a good woman. You should both be proud of her, she spent most of her time looking for any casualties and trying to get us out of there." Smiling, Hermann looked at Boden both of them showing pride. Doors swinging open behind them all, a surgeon walked out smiling half heartedly at the crowd of firefighters.
"I managed to remove all of the shrapnel, there was a lot of internal bleeding. So much so that she coded twice on the table... I..." Voight stepped forward quickly, anger rolling off him in waves.
"You mean died... she died on the table." Looking uneasy the surgeon nodded.
"Yes... but I have managed stop all of the bleeding and she is in the recovery room." Boden looked between both men, a frown forming on his face.
"Uh... thank you Doctor. Are we able to see her yet?"
"Yes, she is still asleep but feel free." Most of 51 got up and quietly made their way into your room, Boden, Hermann, Voight, Severide and Kidd all remained in the waiting room.
"You know you didn't have to get all rude to the Doctor?" Kidd said, eyeing Voight with a pissed off look. Turning, Voight watched Kidd for a moment then looked around at the rest of them.
"I just spent eighteen hours trapped under a collapsed building with her, so please excuse me for feeling a little concerned for her wellbeing." Boden stepped forward, wanting to calm everyone down.
"We're all concerned here Hank, but you don't need to get angry at the people trying to save her life or my team." Smirking Voight turned on his heel, Hermann piped up feeling his temper rise.
"Hey you know we care about (Y/N) a lot! We were just as scared when you brought her out, so don't act like you're the only one who cares for her. She is part of our team.. OUR family okay and.." Voight whipped round quickly, his temper at breaking point, not noticing Ruzek, Burgess and Atwater stepping in behind him. He couldn't bring himself to say anything, knew if he did he would have a whole damn house of firefighters come down on his ass.
"Uh... Sarge? We um... think we've found the guys. We're going to bust them now. Do you want in or..." Rubbing his face in frustration, Voight turned on his heel.
"Let's go." Shoving past Atwater, Voight headed out fire burning his blood.
----------------------------------------------
Prying your eyes open, you found yourself laying in a dark room with the quiet beep of machines around you. Glancing round, you realised you was in Med.
"Hey... how you feeling?" Looking to your left you found Brett sitting in a big arm chair. Smiling you sat yourself up wincing at the pain in your stomach.
"I feel like I've been used as a sieve for bomb fragments. But other than that, I'm fine." Reaching for your hand she squeezed it,
"We were all here, we're taking it in shifts to check on you." Frowning you looked over at where your uniform had been set aside.
"The explosion... what happened? Did anyone else get hurt?"
"It's okay, we were all out of the explosion zone enough to just get a few cuts and scrapes. It was only you and Sergeant Voight that got the brunt of it." You felt your face grow hot at the thought of Voight.
"Christ... was he okay?" You tried to sound casual but it clearly wasn't enough. Brett smiled softly,
"Voight... he's fine. The last I heard he was out with his team hunting the gang responsible."
"But...?" It was Brett's turn to flush this time.
"Well um... see while we was waiting to hear about your surgery, he came and waited with us. The surgeon finally came out and told us how you was doing, but Voight... he seemed angry at how injured you had been." Your heart was racing now, every thought going through your mind.
"He didn't say why he was angry... but... when we spoke to Burgess she said that he gets a bit over protective. He thinks it's his job to save everyone you know?" Nodding, you felt your eyes water slightly as you dropped your gaze.
"He was angry I didn't tell him about my injuries, that's probably why he was so angry." Glancing up at Sylvie, you gave a half smile.
"I kept my mouth shut about the shrapnel I had taken, I knew if I didn't try to get us out of there, I'd have lost my mind. I just..."
"Hey, you don't have to explain yourself to me (Y/N), I get it. It's part of our job." You wiped at your face. She leant in and gave you a hug,
"Tell you what, I'll come back and see you tomorrow. You get some rest okay?"
"Thanks Sylvie, you're amazing." You watched her quietly leave your room, smiling to yourself as you shut your eyes feeling the sweet lull of sleep pulling at you.
ONE WEEK LATER
You'd finally gotten out of the hospital and was now resting in your own home. Most of 51 had called in to see you, bring you food and check you was okay. You hadn't seen Voight, he'd been pulled into another case which was taking up all of his time. You didn't mind, usually you were both pretty busy with work. Looking around your home, you felt boredom set in pretty quickly. You'd been resting for over a week, you needed to get out take in the night air.
Freshening up, you pulled on clothes that didn't make you look like a college bum, grabbed your keys, and headed out to Molly's.
"(Y/N)!" Hermann's voice rang out over the crowd, causing the rest of second shift to turn and grin. Smiling, you waved. You had a lot of people come and hug you, pat you on the back. Taking a seat at the bar, Hermann handed you a drink, squeezing your hand.
"It's good to see you kiddo." Taking a swig of your drink, you smiled.
"Thanks Hermann. I'm glad to see you too." You sat quietly, watching everyone come and go from the bar. Kidd had joined you at some point and you'd had a few drinks before you heard a bit of a commotion at the door. Both of you turning, you saw Voight standing in the doorway, looking straight at you his face full of thunder.
"Oh girl I think you're in trouble." Spinning back round you saw Kidd's eyes widen as she got out of her chair swiftly moving away. Before you could call her back, you felt a heavy presence behind you. Slowly turning, you found Voight looking down at you.
"I've been looking everywhere for you... you weren't at the hospital... or home... I thought you'd... I thought." His voice was low and dark. Fear and frustration was rolling off of him.
"I just wanted some fresh air, and decided to come here." Hermann was standing close by, listening in. Voight leant closer, reaching out a hand to gently touch your cheek.
"I was worried about you." Hermann shook his head and stepped closer.
"Hey Voight, I know you care but you're being a bit much aren't you?" Voights eyes lit up with a fire as some of the others of 51 had started to listen in.
'It's okay Hermann." You could see both men getting more angry by the second.
"What... no he's being a jerk. You aren't the only one who cares about her... she..."
"We're dating Hermann!" You felt the whole bar go silent. Hermann's eyes went wide, his mouth half open. Voight looked down at you, a smile playing on his face.
"You're...you and... and and Voight?" Hermann seemed to be struggling with what you'd just told him, slowly looking behind you and saw the rest of 51 had obviously heard you too. Keeping your voice quiet, you leant into Voight a little.
"Yes... me and Voight. That's why he was angry at the hospital." Sighing you looked up at Voight.
"For how long?" Hermann sounded confused and curious all at the same time. Voight answered before you could, never taking his eyes off of you.
"Mmm... about a year and a half."
Hermann seemed to go pale, kicking himself that no one at 51 had figured it out. Sighing, you gently placed your hand on Voights side.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the shrapnel, and... and I'm sorry you were worried about..." Before you could finish, Voight leant down and kissed you softly his big hand gently tilting your head back. Pressing his head to yours he smiled,
"You don't have to apologise. It's who you are, putting others before yourself. It's how you're built, it's why I fell in love with you." He enjoyed watching the surprise light up your face. Reaching up, you ran your hand over his cheek.
"Want to get out of here?" Grinning, he hummed in agreement. Helping you off your bar stool, he placed his arm around your waist, walking you slowly to the door. You could feel everyone's eyes on you, heard Kidd and Brett whistle at you. Tilting your head up to him, you waited for him to lean in closer so you could kiss his cheek.
"Huh... what was that for?"
"I love you too Hank." Smirking, Voight reached out for the door guiding you both out into the warm Summer night.
