Reading WHA on my phone so expect more screenshots to post… OUGH COCO U CAN NEVER GO BACK…
OH MY GODDDDD
THEYRE ALL GONNA BE BRIMHATS ALL OF THEM
Our first glimpse of magic society tells us 2 things: the witches have secrets and the greatest of those secrets is that they’re gate-keeping magic from those not born with it. Very interesting premise right off the bat.
Equally interesting, we find out right away that Qifrey—while introduced to us through Coco’s eyes as this benevolent figure—has ulterior motives in saving her.
Well my thoughts on wha now that I have caught up on it, spoilers undeer cut
In general I think its just not for me, I don't like the way the author writes, which is a shame! I think the art is really good, not good enough to carry the comic for me, but good enough that I think its a reason the comic has been able to go on for so long, which is good! I'm glad the author has been able to keep it up as long as they have and I hope that they manage to do the comic they want to make.
My problem with how it treats the story is that I didnt like almost half of what's out, I think the way society works is kinda dumb in it, I don't think the villains work as like, really a critique of the society.
There were a series of chapters that I liked but my problem is that it will go well for some time and then have something happens that makes me go
⚠️BIG SPOILERS TIME!!⚠️
Among this is the reveal that qilfrey has to suffer and eat cement every day of his life or he will die/turn into a tree, I think its, dumb, I think it's a silly way to make your character more tragic, is coustas going to suffer the same fate? who knows.
The evil guys are so dumb, they want to recruit Coco for some reason but they are always killing and maiming people, maybe if you want to recruit a child into your evil org try being nicer???
It's like, the magic system is flawed, thats a big part of the series, so of course there are people that are against it and want to help people and they are treated as villains by the law, and in that way if you think about bad guys in that setting you are like, well then the bad guys arent as bad because the law makes it so anyone can be catalogued as an evil villain, but no, turns out the evil guys also kill and maim and puree people, so its like, ok what are we doing here, its dumb !!!!!!!!!
I forgot what else I wanted to talk about...
edit. wait I remembered, also I feel like the author sometimes makes up things up as they go, and that's not bad by itself, but I don't think uhh they are that good at it because it stood out to me, ok that was the other thing I was trying to remember.
BTW I might sound too mean but in general I thought it was ok! And I did have some fun reading it and that's good
I feel like I sound like a wha hater because I've been complaining a lot when I talk about it oops, but I don't hate it, I look forward to it and have been enjoying the anime a lot
whoah
Lets hate these guys
