[Book] Crowley&Aziraphale ~P100

GOOD OMENS!!! By Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. So, the reason I picked this book was because I thought it's written by the same author as Eleanor Oliphant, by Gail Honeyman. There's a lot of similiar syllables okay and I didn't check it again💀 Only after several tens of pages I realized the writing style seems to be a bit different.

Okay. The premise is that... The last day of earth is going to happen soon. A devil was employed to bring havoc, but this one in particular have adapted with how humanity grows. Another one is an angel that's also a bit attached to the human world. Well, news is, armaggedon is going to arrive. That's the premise.

Not going to lie I enjoyed reading it, in my language, Crowley gak sopan... Like... He is a menace. I'm not too well-versed in Christian lore so honestly I was wondering if it's okay for me to read a fictional comedy book based on it but👁️👁️ The way it explains some of the atrocity happened in humankind and attributing it to the works of the devil...

I don't have lots to say tbh but I like how it made me feel like I'm watching a particular anime. Durarara, in particular. With how jumbled, ensemble-like characters who's like a chess piece standing in their initial position (Scarlett, Sable, White, the ministry, switched baby). All around while Crowley and Aziraphale wrecking havoc in the meanwhile. I'm just... very seated to see how things unfold eventually. The main cast also have something I'm super weak for, literal opposites attract trope. And lowkey why do I feel like they're going to adopt a child by the end of the book.

That's my first impression!!! I really shouldn't read this one sparingly so long inbetween each, since there's a lot of details I think and I kept forgotting why stuff happens.

OH. ONE MORE THING. I read this book in my native language, but although there's a lot of cultural thing I didn't understand, they put this footnotes to explain a bit. Which I appreciate it!!! Sometimes it's about a historic events or something about cult. I'm glad!!!

This is peak opposites attract oh how I missed them and this book... The banter feels so endearing everything felt fine because this started out right after the end of the first book. I live for the flowery phrases this is so cute😭

Alright maybe there's too much flowery phrases why are everyone suddenly crying. Reading this book in my native language feels so surreal, a bit stiff at times, but I adore that it happened anyway. The translation. Heck, it's amazing that this book went through all the permit and stuff considering it's pretty, um, conversative here. I love having a paperback...

Damn Ari is pretty mature for a teenage kid. Why do I relate to him not wanting Dante to stop doing things in favor of spending it with Ari instead. Maybe because there's a burden of becoming a reason, and I guess that's also partly insecurity talking. Though isn't it supposed to be good if you're both wanting it to happen?

Ari is a realist? Pessimist? To a degree he didn't think this thing with Dante is going to work out. He's scared for it. Meanwhile Dante would do everything to make it work. I'm not a philosophy literate so idk how their traits relates to real life Aristotle and Dante...

Like even though I don't like the premise (memory loss) I felt like it handled better than I expected. Tackling issues like what makes someone be if not without their minds and memories. Like... Meeting each member pack, some characters went through a lot of developments which I love love love, depth into Elizabeth grief and motherhood, Jessie and Dominique characters, the townies, rico's antics outside of being comedy relief, though other characters felt more bland? Shallow? (eg. Joe until nearing the end). Packs intimacy is being peak... Kelly is the softest of all because his love is pure and enduring...

I mean it when I say this brought a lot of fresh air and angst-wise it's. Heartsong isn't a neverending emotional torture book like ravensong is. It's such a relief after ravensong. Gordo's grumpy old man antics is endearing with Mark being happy after all of that. What else. Handling of villain may be a bit ??? At times it felt like they're only there when plot needed them to be.

And robbie. Robbie... My love he is everything... It sucks that he had to relive being lost, though it also doubles the impact when he got it all back. I teared up. I... I love heartsong sm....

Fuck me. The letters. Fuck you tj klune... Thomas Bennett is a scum, mayhaps unintentionally manipulative, and lost. He is all but perfect. This has been repeated millionth of times. :-( I know I complained a lot but the ending... It's not really fulfilling. It's more to a prelude to the third book and I know, I know, this is an interconnected series. I just wish I, what? Got to see more of Gordo and Mark post-reconciliation. Last third of the book spent Mark being an omega. He barely talks except gordogordogordo MatePackLove... Felt like the second half is dragged. Too many subplots (which? Not a lot solved?), and the one that they decided to focus, the Elijah plot, I ended up snoozing. I love love love Gordo though I think this might be a torture book with how long he's portrayed to be hurting and broken. I love love love Mark of his devotion and honesty. Individually I love them both but paired up I wish they had more time to reconcile. For Mark to properly apologizes and pamper Gordo with more love to make time.

I know I always will side with Gordo, because he is so raw as a character. His pain, his hurting, it's just so emotional to me. The first half? Of the book is what I loved the most. The tidbits of Gordo's memories, switching up to Gordo bonding with Joe, Carter and Kelly. Other character, man, the Team Humans really shine. The bar scene still cracks me up when I think about it. What else. Ahh...

I'll rant about other things instead. I'm a bit baffled that when Mark and Carter were infected, the whole pack, heavily on Gordo promised to find a way for that problem. Issue is, I don't really think they delve a lot into what they're doing? The research? The progress? Because there's also the problem of Elijah, ok. But suddenly, Gordo, thought the way was to... Mate? And I was, ok. Sure. What about Carter? He can't be mating to his tether. It's like... Have you really done anything, Gordo...?

Its my opinion but it's not really, satisfying? In Wolfsong, even though I still think the ending part needs to be longer, it pushes me to "I want to read more!" hence, I'm here. But for Ravensong, it's a bit... There's too much going on. World building, and all. I don't like how proper apologies are barely presence, from Thomas and Mark, and to an extent Elizabeth too. This bothers me a lot. But I ranted too much about it already. I'll stop.

Actually I won't stop. I hate hate hate that they're pushing Gordo, the one that they left to eventually patch things up. Where's. The. Proper. Apologies. Now that I think about it if I'm looking at this book as a typical second-chance stories I usually read, I will say that the groveling isn't done well. Fuck Thomas Bennett. And they still.
