@adrianintown​ that makes me so upset too.. I want a real talk & for ppl to get they hurt alex. But yeah we probably won't get that. Is like she did nothing wrong , but dammit she did do something wrong. Oh well.

i mean, i personally do think there will be consequences. Carina has tweeted that Maria’s ‘feelings’ are going to get messy, which to me implies consequences. I too am scared that Alex will be too nice and give his blessing, but at the same time, I don’t think she’ll just “get away” with it and I don’t think the narrative will pretend that what she did is fine. 

the part I’m not looking forward, though, is the part where the narrative tries to make us empathize with her. Oh, her life was so hard so it’s ~so understandable~ that she fucked over her best friend. Oh, she feels bad about it and we should empathize and feel compassion for how bad she feels...like, nah. If she feels bad, sorry, guilty, and shitty about herself, it’ll be as a direct consequence of her choices. She brought it on herself. If Alex drops her as a friend, I won’t feel bad for her, I’ll root for Alex and I’ll celebrate her getting what she deserves as a direct consequence of her actions. 

In short, fuck the narrative trying to make me feel compassion for Maria. It’ll just make me want to punch her in the face more.
