The people of the cult are very stupid, like, how they think a "imposter" do all things that only the creator can do it, like use the teleport points,or things appear and disappear (like their own weapons and artifacts).
when they realize it is too late and their god is dedicated to screwing up their lives as they did with him / her / them.
If there's one thing I know, it's that people don't like realizing they're wrong. Preconceptions are fucking strong and opinions stand stronger.
Even people open to having their mind changed can have trouble changing their mind, especially when it's something as big as, idk, having rejected, tormented, and attempted to kill your beloved god. The idea that they could be wrong is worse than death for some. Add in some mob mentality and you've got a recipe for disaster.
Sometimes you need a real slap in the face to come to your senses.
