Onward and Upward

I’m starting my second period this month and I am on my placebo for my birth control.

No more.

I’m sick of my body acting crazy, and the birth control not doing its job.  The original BC gave me more than week long periods (albeit 3 weeks apart), but I was bad about taking my pills on time.

The second pill I tried had me having periods ever 2-3 weeks and still 1.5-2 weeks in length.  Still was not great about taking the pills in a timely manner.  So, I moved to a patch to see if that would help...not much better.  I think I had an 8-9 day period, 2.5 weeks apart from the last, and now it’s back to the old bullshit.

I had my first period earlier this month and my body bloated up like it was ready for another one.  Last night, I told Florizel “If I start another period in the next day or two, I’m ending the birth control.”  He said “That’s fine, honey.  This is getting ridiculous...”  He’s worried too.

Sure enough, I started again this morning and I made the decision to stop taking it.  My body has been through enough and I’m done.

I know what this means: if we continue to work towards having a child with me not on birth control, I run the risk of getting pregnant.

That’s fine with us.  We’re ready for a child, so I don’t care what happens.  I’ll let God decide when our child will be conceived.

In other news, I got new glasses a few days ago and my headaches have been reduced by quite a bit!  Not sure if I’m going through a great spell or maybe the headaches are mostly gone, but I’ll take what relief I can get.  Some good news somewhere!

Getting back on track without the birth control will take time, but that’s okay.  It gives me more time to find a GYN and for us to practice ;) If God wills that we get pregnant...then, so be it.

Bring on the next chapter.  We’re ready.
