#ukraine, #eurovision: national final.
I don't know whether this national final has an official hashtag, I couldn't care less anyways, but seriously, I find it just so surreal to believe that we will have our first entry of the year chosen on this fabulous Saturday morning! Having heard most of the songs, I could say most the candidates seem to be rather boring for my liking, in fact I can't even recall them all. Though we all know that this is Ukraine and you just can't depend on these early versions. I could not even hear them well enough to produce a proper ranking, which suggests I may have missed out some good gems, or simply the opposite. Okay, I seem to be rooting for -in alphabetical order: Anna-Maria, Illaria, Lissa, Marietta, neAngely, Tania, and Uli. Bold ones being the ones I like the most. So, I'd love it if one of these won. As for the results, I don't have any predictions. I am rather busy trying to acknowledge the fact that we will have a Eurovision song officially chosen today. But, the odds may perhaps be in Illaria's favour, me thinks. Other than her, I don't think any of my favourites stand a chance. Oh, and maybe neAngely? AAAAH IT IS OFFICIAL. HAPPY EUROVISION SEASON!!!!!!
#melfest: running order.
Even though most of this turned out to be similar to what I have been predicting/expecting, at some point, I am still surprised. No surprises in semi 1. The hot fave Helena gets the new pimp slot, 1-8. Last year's televoting winner, Yohio opening the same semi. Ellen, the girl who performed France 2013 in last year's rehearsals in 6, followed by Schlegel of The Ark in 7. Elisa gets 4. Linus 3. Alvora 5. Leaving 2 to the potential last placer of the semi, the one and only Persian Idol winner Mahan. Way too obvious. Semi 2, however, left me surprised. Even though we saw Sanna performing in 6 before, I thought she would end up closing the semi here. Probably the fact that she is singing a ballad this time prevented it, she got 6 with Empty Room back in 2008 after all. JEM, another possible fan wank is to open the semi final, how predictable. Martin, the winner of 2005, closing the semi is rather unexpected. I did not think he would be this big of a favourite. Gronvalls in 7. Panetoz of Dansa Pausa, in 4. Followed by Pink Pistols. Which leaves The Refreshments, who may randomly make it to AC, in 2. I found semi 3 kind of surprising as well. Oscar Zia of X Factor seems to be left all alone in 3rd. I thought the possibility of seeing him closing this semi was higher. While Jessica featuring DR. Alban -wish she took part alone- is to close the semi, Outtrigger who covered You last year is opening. EKO, destined to come last -unfortunately, is performing in 2. The glorious Shirley, however is placed to perform 4th. The brand new Ace Wilder of Do It seems to be performing 7th. Leaving a possible ballad by Cajsastina in 6, and State of Drama in 5. Semi 4 brought no surprises. Alcazar was so going to open the semi, even though I did really want to see them closing the whole thing. However, considering how cursed 4-8 has been in the previous years, I should perhaps celebrate that Anton got it. The queen Bengtzing is performing 6th. Janet unfortunately seems to have been abondoned in 3. Even though 4-3 produced the winner last year, I don't think this is happening again. In fact, Janet may never reach the final if things go like this. IDA, who randomly got in is to perform 2nd meaning they will probably fail in this tough race. Josef to perform 5th, with Ammotrack in 4. Which leaves Ellinore, who might surprisingly do a Terese, in 7th. Can't wait!

#jesc2013.
It would not be so right if I said I had been so into JESC this year. I don't know whether it is because I am growing up and starting to dislike the songs, or simply because the quality. But compared to the earlier years I started to feel like the contest has become worse. Nevertheless, I just want to enjoy the night and celebrate the party! Here I present my votes:
12 The Netherlands
10 San Marino
8 Malta
7 Sweden
6 Armenia
5 Russia
4 Ukraine
3 Moldova
2 FYR Macedonia
1 Azerbaijan
11th Georgia
12th Belarus
Speaking of the songs, I must say there is not a certain gap inbetween. While Belarus seems to be my dead-end last placer, Georgia & Azerbaijan are very closely ranked in my list. Had it been last year though, I would not even vote for some of these entries. Anyways, The Netherlands is in lead with a big margin and has always been my favourite from the very start. I don't know if there is something else to say. I do not really care about the rest of the entries at this point. Even though I might not be a big fan of this year's entries what I like about this year is the fact that it is unexpected and there is an open race though, and obviously my heart is hoping for Double Me's victory!
