makoto’s worldview is affected by his luck cycle just as much as nagito’s guys.

his luck cycle isn’t explicitly called out, but if you pay attention it’s clearly there-he has constant, minor instances of bad luck that turn out to either actually be good luck, or protect him from worse luck, depending on how you look at it. (a good example of this in-game is him getting a shitty broken doorknob, and then that later proving he didn’t commit murder!) nagito struggles to care, because for him, every good thing is always followed by disaster and every bad thing is always followed by something better. makoto believes that things will always work out in the end, because for him, they do.
