We recommend checking out Technical Papers Fast Forward and Real-Time Live, two of the highlights from any trip to SIGGRAPH. Technical Papers Fast Forward is a great way to get a quick overview of all the best research of the year in CG. The session itself a bit long, but with every presentation lasting less than a minute, it's easy to fit into whatever time you have available. And Real-Time Live is a fun, often dramatic live-on-stage show featuring the best of real-time graphics for games and other applications, which sometimes doesn't get the most attention otherwise.
