The Texas A&M University Visualization Laboratory was established in 1988. The academic program started one year later. The Visualization Laboratory and Visualization academic program were created in response to clear indications that digital visualization was going to play a highly important role in digital communication. The visualization academic programs produce leaders in the fields where art and science merge.

Chillennium Game Jam 2016 was a huge success! With nearly 250 students in attendance, this year’s Chillennium was the largest student-run game jam in North America! Here are some of our photos from the event, and you can see even more at our Facebook page! Go check them out and tag your friends!

Former Viz faculty member Mary Ciani Saslow will be presenting at PechaKucha Night Bryan on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7pm! Here are her thoughts:

"Hi, Mary Ciani Saslow here, former faculty member in Viz. I'll be one of the people giving short slide talks at this event in downtown Bryan pretty soon. The ad uses my painting Fish-Tailed Flower. I'll be talking (showing) about the Art of Warning and some recent art. Yes, I have two names, Mary Saslow and Mary Ciani – but am one person. Hope you can make it. Short road trip???? Congrats to Vizzer Stephanie Keske​ on her Production Technology work in Laika's Kubo and the Two Strings​, which opened last weekend! It's a beautiful, interesting, and original film. If you haven't seen it yet, go check it out - you're in for a treat!
