So, today I was introduced to Realborn dolls, and Oh my sweet baby Jesus are they scary. Like, they look like a real infant.

And I don’t know why such lifelike dolls freak me out so much, but they just feel very unsettling. Also wonder what people do with these. 👀

Here are the babies I’ve been working on.  First is Mikey, made from the Realborn Landon kit.  I originally painted this sweet boy a few weeks after I started reborning, so he had very little paint and no creases, shading or nails done.  A couple of weeks ago I decided to take him apart, strip him and repaint him.  I also had to shave his head because I’d rooted him (badly) and glued the hair in so well it wouldn’t come out.

I’m really pleased with how he’s turned out, and how much I was able to improve on what I’d done with him originally.  I might post a comparison picture at a later date.  He’s easily my favorite of all my babies to snuggle, he’s just so chubby and cuddly.

Next is my current work in progress, a baby vampire named Arrabella.  She’s made from the Liam sculpt by Marrissa May.  This is such a sweet sculpt that I’d already painted before as a normal baby, so I decided to use this sculpt for my first try at an alternative.  She’s got a way to go before she’s done, but I’m really loving how she’s turning out.

I wont be giving her fangs, because I decided as she’s a baby, she hasn’t started teething yet, so her fangs haven’t come through :D  I’ll be making her a bottle filled with fake blood to pose with in some of her pictures though (and to freak people out when I take her out in public :D)

My Studio Is Relocating
