Don't mind me, just decided to draw two totally normal, inconspicuous hedgehogs playing around.

Whoever keeps reblogging realistic/older design Sonic for the movie fucking stop.
I DONT WANNA HAVE NIGHTMARES WHERE I SEE THAT DEFORMED FACE
Opened up autodesk on my phone for the first time in months and I —
Hedgehogs are such extra cute vampires, aren’t they? Yes, Sonic too.

Thought I'd give a go at a more realistic Sonic concept. I think this makes more sense than what they've shown for the movie so far but I don't think he needs to be realistic at all personally lol

Apparently I accidentally only saved the flat image and not the layered image so I. Lost the ability to flip between layers.
So all that exists of this is the drawing + skeletal sketch overlayed...
ANYWAY this is a ‘realistic’ Sonic. I tried to make Sonic’s features show through- like the white mask around his eyes mimicking the cartoony eyes he normally has. I also referenced an elephant shrew for the nose, since animals generally don’t really have bean-noses. So I assume like an elephant shrew it’s wiggly...
I made his base fur colour sort of a dark slate colour, with the actual blue probably being a dye of some sort? The spines/quills/whatever are bundled together to make the trademark shape.
