I made this reality affirmation at the urging of my therapist. I've had it as my phone background for a week now and seeing it multiple times a day has been so good for me. I often get lost in the idea that the things I am recovering from didn't happen or weren't as bad as they were. I get carried away with the notion that the things I'm doing or the ways I'm responding are unreasonable or have no logical basis. . I think it's easy for us to believe that the ways in which we operate or respond in the aftereffects of trauma are dysfunctional somehow, but the fact is that our brains are often responding to very real circumstances. And they're doing their best to protect us or heal us or make things easier. . In the style of Barbara Kreuger.
