Today we hung out with jelly fish, giant green sea turtles, touched all the purple sea urchins, and we got to pet some bat rays! A day well spent with these #BAEbies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As we walked around today I reminisced about all the anxious thoughts I had about becoming a mom. Who I needed to be, what I needed to have aligned in life before having kids, all the way to what would other mothers think of me as a 21 year old mother with tattoos, crazy colored hair, and a life that did not look like there's. I remember being pregnant thinking: "I am not ready and I am not the mother I want to be for my kids yet." Reflecting on all these thoughts I had I just laugh. ☝🏾First rule of life: You're never going to be fully prepared, mentally or physically, for everything in life. So, just so it. ✌🏾Second rule of life: there are no rules of who you need to be in order to be a great parent, wife, friend, or lover. I guess that's the beauty of life right friends? We have the power to create and define who we want to become and have the ability to choose the paths we take in order to become that person. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 12 years ago I remember walking around @montereybayaquarium holding Airis' hand thinking "Wow, I don't look like any other mom here, does that make me not good enough?" Today, I walked around holding both their hands thinking, "Wow, I don't look like any of these other moms and I don't want to because these other moms are not me." 👊🏾 #reallifejo (at Monterey Bay Aquarium)
