Are onions spicy to you?
I know people that think that and i’m concerned. Idk if I have a high spice tolerance or they have a low one because onions are sweet to me.

I love onions! Chileans use onions a lot in our dishes, so it's like part of the every day cuisine lol
Anyway, personally, when I've eaten onions like freshly cut/diced without any cooking, they can have a strong taste that can be interpreted as spicy, which I don't mind tbh
A common trick when an onion is too strong, aka the smell is making everyone cry and the taste is spicy, the grandma's trick is to put the freshly cut onion in a small bowl with water to soften the taste and smell before serving or cooking
So maybe you've eaten softened onions or cooked onions only?
But yeah, I've had spicy onions and they're good lol
Idk if u guys eat it in other countries, but onions fermented in vinegar is like a big thing over here and it's very good but damn sometimes they're spicy as hell lol
