Yo I don't know if anyone will see this but wrote a story and decided to post it here. (Tw: alcoholic)
He just drank and drank. Every single drop. He had to forget everything. He couldn't handle it anymore. His personality started completely changing back to his old self. The old self he'd wish to forget. He was doing so well for his kid. But now what? Now where was that motivation? It was gone. The thought of being sober for even a second was terrifying to him. No matter what he just couldn't do it.. His kid saw him start changing. It was a slow change. But she could tell from the beginning. After 4 years he wasn't recognizable anymore. Wheres the dad she knew? What happened to him? She needed answers. But when she asks she was instantly met with regret. She didn't want to get told that the good side was only for a bit compared to the negative. She didn't want to know he was only a sobered up "good guy" for 8 years.
She didnt want to know the drunk, angry, irritated, and the pained man he actually is. She missed the dad she knew. She couldn't even hold a conversation with him. Let alone a serious deep one with him. In the beginning when she tried to talk to him he was just a really drunk incoherent man. Now he'll get defensive, lash out, and even shatter the alcohol bottles just from her trying to start a conversation. Yeah she's old enough to know that it's best not to interact with him while drunk. But shes just a kid. And no kid wants that. Who else would she talk to? The mom wasnt there, no siblings, or even a pet. Speaking of the mom. She was always known to be the "bad guy". But was she really? The dad ended up being the "bad guy in disguise". So was the mom really that bad? Or was it all a lie too? Was she the "good" one. Was she the trustworthy one. She didnt know what to do anymore.
