Oh, I’m sorry for laughing my ass off the moment I read this, nonny, but I have a question for you: are you serious? Are you really serious? Let me remind you of a thing, dear:

RPing is for fun, and there is no set way to do it, no style or set system that an RPer has to follow or set things up by…and that is true in my case as any other’s.

You wanna know why I don’t bother with a “nice-looking” theme? Because I prefer things simple, easy to access and navigate: I want my bio and rules pages easy to access, I want my text to be easy to read on a high-contrast background, I want the ability to make new profile pages and drabble lists easily and comfortably…and, frankly, I get real sick and tired of going on some RP blogs with elaborate themes where I have to go link-hunting or click through 20 damn pages of flavor text before I find the damn muse profile or rules page. I prefer to keep things simple.

And you wanna know why I don’t like using icons? Because I don’t like using other people’s artwork alongside my writing: it feels wrong to me, the creator of the art will most likely never see my writing put with it, and what if something I say alongside that art is not something the artist would approve of? My writing is different, separate, and not affiliated with another’s person artwork, and to use it, even with a source, without their permission when they may not approve of the words I’ve put under their cropped image feels wrong to me, personally. The ones I do use are either screenshots from the video, which I use sparingly even though its “canon” work and not fanart, and artwork that was either given to me by RP partners or friends that I feel comfortable with using because I’ve spoken to them and they know they can come to me if they feel I’m using it in a way that they deem inappropriate. It’s a personal choice of mine not to use icons often.

Finally, and I’m sorry to all my followers for saying this for probably the tenth time now, I must sound like a broken record to you, lovelies, but, ahem…

I am a human being with a life outside of my bloody Mystery Skulls RP blog: I’m going through my hardest semester in college yet, preparing for the MCAT, trying to get my health back in order, prepare for my career, and keep myself mentally stable and fit. If you think I’m “squandering” my supposed “talent” with ooc posts and making a “mess” of my blog then I’m glad you didn’t follow: I put it on my damn main page that school’s in session and I’m going to be busy, slow on replies, and selective.

My life is not my damn RP blog, and I can run it any way I want because this blog and RPing is about having fun, dammit.

Anyway, nonny, I hope you have a lovely night/day/whatever it is in your timezone and you enjoy your presumably pretty-themed, icon-using blog somewhere on this site, running it the way you want, as I will continue to do with mine. Fare thee well.))

OCs are awesome and great and should be treated with more damn respect: every canon character in anything ever was once someone's OC. J.R.R. Tolkien had OCs, J.K. Rowling had OCs: every artist, writer, comic book author, EVERYONE had/has OCs and they are all precious and unique and mean something dang important to their creators so please, PLEASE treat OCs with respect.

((Just to let everyone out there know, I take personal pride in and make it a point of in my day to day life to be a person you can safely come to if you need someone to talk to: I spent most of my life hating humanity and being an all-around cruel and hateful person, but thanks to some of the most open, loving, and kind people I could ever even hope to have the honor of meeting I've learned that we all suffer, all have our trials and tribulations and all have dignity and deserve to be heard and treated with kindness.

If you ever, EVER need someone to talk about ANYTHING to my inbox is open and you can come in, on anon or off, and talk: everything discussed is 100% confidential: I've had people turn around and do crap to me when I thought I could trust them and there is no way in HELL I would ever allow myself to do the same thing to anyone else.

So if you need someone to talk to, come hither my lovelies, you'll find no cruel judgments or silence here.))

I know your busy, but being an rper who's had their threads dropped on a regular basis, seeing you start new ones all the time is... really annoying and disheartening. Doubly so because you're such a good writer an you seem aware of how this makes others feel but don't really do anything to fix it.

((Gah, sorry I'm replying to this so late: had a hectic day involving my dog having to be rushed to the vet and some other stuff, but I felt the need to respond to this the moment i saw it. And no, anon, you're right, no need to do the whole "you're busy" thing, you hit the nail right on the head...Confession time, people: the most popular RP blog I've ever had on this site barely reached over 100 followers before I lost my muse, and by then nearly all my threads were dying because people were leaving the fandom/having trouble with their muses, and so on. I'm used to getting into a lot of threads and having them get dropped, and, to be honest, I have a horrible, HORRIBLE problem of not being able to say no to a new thread. I feel like it's rude to turn someone down or not offer people the opportunity to jump on a new idea for a thread when I have it and when the inspiration's good, and thats fine when, say, i only have one ir two followers who would be interested/actually interact with me on a regular basis. But thats not the case on THIS blog.Again, I'm used to a lot slower pace, people darting into out of the fandom I'm RPing in and replies sometimes taking months to happen......and it has been made abundantly clear to me that I have not been actively adjusting to the pace that this blog has presented me with. This fandom is active, lots of people are enthusiastic about interactions, and, me being me, I can't turn down a thread and think it rude not to post opens/make threads for people who ask for them. On top of that, I love having multiple threads with the same mun/muse in different situations/AUs, it really opens up the depth of the characters involved and all that...but, again, I have been unable to stymie my craving for RPing these characters to the point of me becoming incredibly selective with what threads I continue, and leaving the rest to rot. It's inexcusable from someone like me who talks up things like paying attention to the needs of your fellow RPers and who claims to be a modest, active mun who isn't selective and likes everyone she interacts with. I know it's not worth much, but:I'm sorry. I can go farther than that, but with how many people I've left hanging, there's no point in me doing so. What you want is action, not words, because Heaven knows I dump a crap ton of meaningless words on this blog as is. So, anyway, here's the plan: I can't really do anything without my computer, since there's really not much I can do from mobile on this issue, but I won't be opening any more threads/replying to anything for a time while I dig back through my blog and find all the threads that I have started/owe replies on. Once everything is back in order, I intend to make a masterpost and tag everyone involved, asking if they want to continue the thread after how long I've left them hanging, and will preserve the threads that are left. If there is a large amount of people who want to continue to RP with me, and the number of threads left is still too much for me to handle, I'm afraid I will have to drop some. I hate to do that, but I will message those people about it and get this all straightened out.Once things are narrowed down to the threads I really want to work on/anyone who wants out has opted out, I'm going to make what I should have made in the first place: a threads page, just to keep everything in check and organized this time around. The take-away lesson here is that I wasn't ready for this kind of attention, and although I could have easily just adjusted to it and done stuff the right way, I instead flipped out, and went thread-crazy, leaving a lot of people behind in the process, good, good people that I love interacting with, and whom I've since most likely left in a bad spot/in the dust, unduly and unjustifiably. I love these characters, the people I RP with, and RPing in general...which is why I'm even more pissed off at myself right now for needing multiple anons to point my nonsense out to me to get me to actually DO anything about it. I've done a poor job at adjusting to this blog and my work here, and for that, I apologize, for what it's worth. For now, I'm just going to stick to requests/the occasional art reblog while I wait for my computer to get back/get things in order. If you have a thread with me and want to drop it, let me know, and, as always, stay beautiful my lovelies, and my apologies.))
