My Thoughts about 13 Reasons Why: The Series
WARNING: This blog contains social issues.
The 13 reasons why is a fictional series that explores and depicts a wide range of tough and real life issues, taking to look at suicide, sexual assaults, substance abuse, and more. And on how is it affecting every human being, but mostly modern youth. Moreover, it gives insights of why is it important for us to have awareness on the issues that was mentioned.
I found this series on Netflix and out of curiosity I started to watch the trailer and read its details, then somehow it got my attention which leads to watching the whole episodes of each three seasons (Although it has 4 seasons and has 13 episodes each, but I haven't yet watch the 4th season). Every seasons represent the different issues in life and the human capabilities; on first season it tackles mostly the reasons why this girl had decided to end her life, the second was the untold story or truth of every person that has been part of her, on how they approached to any situations they'd face and the reasons behind their actions. The third was about a person who wanted to change but feels like no one had the courage to believe in him, since he had commited serious crimes. As I started to watch this series it had given me new different perspective, realize and consider some things not just with the issue that had mentioned but also life and how complex being a human, like; the environment that the child had grew up could affected their behaviors and attitude, and the lack of attention at home. How your bad behaviors or actions could affect to ones life until their last day, as being scarred for life. Why being present with someone who's in need is crucial. The feeling of loneliness and being misunderstood, as we feel unsettled, unheard, and unseen. Considering every ones feelings and emotions, because it matters and are valid. How every actions has reasons behind it, whether good or bad. The importance of reaching out for help when in need, because seriously it doesn't make you weak or uncapable of finding your own way. We are just humans who are thriving in order to survive, but it needs deep human connection, human interaction; being open and honest about how we feel at the moment could make us unite and have each others back.
