As much as I love Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren in the Ahsoka live action (this is no way a critique on the actress or her ethnicity) it's been incredibly disappointing to see official merch and fanartists alike use the actor's significantly lighter skintone for Rebels Sabine. The broad approval of retroactively lightening her skintone really feeds into global colorism. For the most part, merch of Rebels Sabine prior to the live action was fairly accurate to her skintone. (yeah the Forces of Destiny one is wack)
AS SHE WAS DESIGNED
Even in side material such as Star Wars: Forces of Destiny and Star Wars: Kanan: The Last Padawan, her skin tone is fairly accurate.
And then you get the retroactive lightening (white washing) of Rebels Sabine in newer official merch post Ahsoka series.
If Hot Toys can make green, blue, and orange aliens based off of the actors' likenesses then they can they can still use Natasha’s likeness with Sabine’s correct rebels skin tone. Or hell, create a face model for her based on the animation like they did for TCW season 7 Ahsoka.
