can’t believe I’m actually spending at least an hour each night trawling through my tumblr “backlogs”
Other stories include warships arriving to help haze victims, and updates on Asia stocks
that ain’t even “smog” anymore. that’s an omen foreboding the awakening of Cthulhu from hibernation due to warming waters
how horrible of the Yuru Yuri staff. I love A&W Root Beer :( ... :o
could it be, I really AM a masochist? xD kidding aside, it’s just hilarious how they chose A&W RB out of all things. Them Japs have shit taste if they hate this delectable drink. ... now I kinda want to buy some RB later

Kinda hilarious how almost all the blogs tumblr "recommends" me are either yuri-posting or random-anime-posting blogs, witg at least 3 recommend-posts about the Citrus manga ... not that i'm complaining ofc
Writing for Foreign Affairs in 1968, Filipino national hero Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino lamented: "Almost half a century of American rule bequeathed to the Asian Filipino a trauma by ma
“The brutal assassination of Luna by his fellow revolutionaries, who saw arrogance more than merit and prioritized personal vengeance above national independence, serves as a cautionary tale -- a reminder of how the Philippines' greatest enemy was (and is) not external predators, but instead internal divisions and narrow loyalties, which have stunted its nation-building quest to this date.”
sadly, this is still very much true. Loyalties are still predominantly provincial/local, or familial/personal, to the detriment of the wider nation/community. The concept of a single Philippine “nation” is still effectively nascent. A large part of it has mostly to do with the majority of the general populace’s daily struggle to get food on the table, making them more likely to “vote” for whichever politician provides the most attractive short-term proposal. And sadly, those who can afford to indirectly buy these votes (it’s not technically “vote buying”, but using public and private resources in a bread and circus campaign primarily to swing votes towards your end comes damn close) often tend to use their office to recoup their “investment” and profit.
In the end, the Gini coefficient stays large, and the voters remain stuck with their lot in life, mostly looking only at short-term benefits (because if you’re constantly at the brink of starving and at danger of getting kicked out of your rented apartment, a candidate who offers petty stuff like free vaccination programs (funded by state coffers, but with his/her face on the tarpaulin flyer and claiming it as his/her “initiative”) is far more likely to get the vote than the candidate who could actually do something like improve the town/city’s policies, since those are too abstract and long-term).
but meh, this rant took longer than expected. nothing can really change except with coordinated effort by a strong-willed group of people at power willing to rock the boat and shatter the status quo. until then, this country shall remain stuck in the limbo that it is in, an nation that only exists in paper and laws, but not in the hearts and minds of its people.
until then, I shall mostly stick to posting/reblogging cute anime/manga shit, since that helps me run away from reality.
like moar Citrus scanlations. that shit makes me feel biologically younger by several times more than the amount of time I read them. I could stare at them for a day and feel a year younger ^_^
(now that I think of it, this is exactly the escapism from reality that most of the populace does. there’s a reason shitty romcoms sell more than well-crafted stories do in this country after all - it’s the film/movie equivalent of junk food, cheap to make, shitty in quality, but addictive as it targets the exact receptors that triggers a dophamine high)
the sad thing about this is that it makes it a sort of slider of your emphasis. great works in the technical field require you to have great focus, on the other hand great works in the creative fields are brought about by inspiration that is brought about by a loosening of focus. in short, you can only be great in one aspect, or be mediocre in both. (which is precisely the rut I am in sadly T_T )

ah, scratch that. it's dere-dere all the way
