The calculation it's extremely OFF the chart. If you say Volks have their staff all secured and on record, happy and all? MAYBE I'll buy it. Now if you say FL, soom, Iplehouse, all KOREAN companies care about "US best working standards"? I'll just laugh. Not to mention DollZone, who was selling recast until around 2005.

If each doll costs what they said to make, then please ask them to explain how legit companies like ResinSoul, Bobobie, MiroDoll, etc (just to name a few) can offer original legit hi quality resin in all colors dolls, and other companies based on the same country working under the same rules and with ALL the same, "charge over $750" for a doll same size those LEGIT ORIGINAL COMPANIES don't charge more than $250.

Not entering in what snobs think it's "cheap resin" since my ResinSoul and my recasts are better quality in resin and detail than my SOOM legit fullsets or my LE Iplehouse dolls.

So yeah, I call it 🐂💩.

Honestly people sometimes assume that all recast owners have no aesthetic taste whatsoever because people always say recasts are ugly when really I have seen so many people butcher legit dolls with ugly faceups, bad dyejobs or horrible wigs. And recasts are exact copies of legits so howcan they be ugly? I do my own faceups and I have been able to practice a lot. I am no master but it looks good. I buy my dolls good clothes and wigs and get so many compliments for my 'legits' it is laughable.

Hey can you bring me up to speed with the recast community? I left the bjd hobby years ago, now I can't find the old recast forums or the recast masterlist. Where do people gather nowadays to discuss recasts and is the recast masterlist still somewhere?

The main person who keep updating the Recast Masterlist I think it went "anti recast" (or as they like to call themselves now, "pro artist"). Didn't update it anymore (no like there's a reason to, by now no matter what you're looking for, most big stores in AliExpress have it, if it's not published just ask by private message).

I've seen them gathering on Facebook, YouTube, Reddit (if you got stomach), and pretty much any other social media. The old forums are mainly dead because of social networks.

You got a TON of new dolls, and even artist working for the recast stores, selling original sculpts.

It's a lot to process, to be honest...

When I see posts of people saying to go legit because the people on that side are nice and will accept you, I roll my eyes. Why would I want to join a community who see my recasts as less? They don’t even allow recast owners to post their dolls. I’ll still stay in recast friendly spaces even when I go legit someday.

The only reason I don't own any recasts, and spend too much money on just having a few legits, is the fear of bullying :( I really wish I could get over it and have my dream dolls.

I know it's not my place to say, and it's should be someone trained in mental health care, but, you plan to live YOUR life like this until you die? Asking permission for other to approve what you want or like? ... Just do what you want with your 💲, and if ANYONE complaints about it, you can either tell them to F-off, or, that you'll go legit only if they add from their pockets whatever amount the legit costs (since you can't pay that much, and either way no artist it's loosing anything).
