He picked up his glass of whiskey and sloshed it around before downing the contents in one giant gulp as his fellow bartender watched on with a semi-concerned expression. “Sounds like a nightmare to me, Vega.”
Eston tossed his hands up in frustration before refilling his glass. “No, it...ugh...” He paced around the empty bar, gesturing wildly with his free hand. “Yes, it was technically a nightmare but...it’s more than just that. It’s been this way my entire life y’know? These premonitions, I dream about these things and they happen. Sometimes it’s more symbolic but this time it was...I felt it. I felt the heat on my skin, almost as if my own flesh was burning. I saw a giant structure or tree or something on fire and people running and screaming in terror. It was like I was there, experiencing it myself. You know what I mean?”
The other man rubbed at the back of his neck, clearly he didn’t know what he meant but was at least willing to listen. “So...what now? Do you know where this was? What happened?”
Eston shrugged, plopping down atop a bar stool with a look of resignation. “No. Faces were blurred, things shifted too much. It was hard to focus with all the confusion and general panic. It was bad, I hope it was just a dream but...” He shook his head, turning his gaze towards the door. “I fear it wasn’t.”
