The Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho) Phra Nakohn District, Bangkok, Thailand. This was a special one for me guys. I didn't get to visit this temple in 2019 on my first trip to Thailand. So this time I had so see what all of the fuss was about and boy was I in for a treat. The entire temple complex is bloody fantastic and this is why... It's one of the most scared temples in the whole of Thailand, the ashes of King Rama 1st are inshrined in the actual complex. The temples houses the largest collection of Buddhist statues in the entire country and has been designated a UNESCO world heritage site since the 1970's. I am inspired by the buildings history not only as a cultural hub but as a Thailand's earliest centre for education. The marble inscriptions placed in the temple for public instructions is part of the #memoryoftheworldprogramme. The chapel and the reclining Buddha were build by Rama 3rd in 1832 and represents the last inclination of the Buddah leaving this world and entering into Nirvana. This is probably the reason why this temple is so sacred, that along with the fact that it's only a stone's throw away from the Royal Palace. It's only 100 Baht entry for foreigners and it is free for Thais to enter. So please foreigners and Thai people alike, if you haven't seen it please go and do so.
