I-I didn’t even know there could be lesbians in the Silmarillion! >o< PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME!
oh my dude, my child, my cousin, you’ve been missing out so much
there’s a small but very dedicated Tolkien femslash community (with v active writers and artists like @vefanyar @edgeoflight or @alackofghosts) which also organizes various events. Some things that could be of interest:
silmladylove, blog where you can find some fic & art recs as well as infos about events (like femslash weeks !)
Tolkien Femslash Bingo an event organized last year (or yearly?) in which bingo prompts are given for each day of the event and on tumblr uses the tag tolkien femslash week
Silmarilion tag on Femslash Friday (ao3/tumblr), which is a weekly multifandom challenge
there are also various yearly multiple fandom ao3 events in which Silmarilion femslash fandom is a huge part such as Every Woman Exchange or Chocolate Box (speaking of which, there’s plenty of f/f works in the Silmarilion tag on ao3)
also @edgeoflight has a blog tolkienfemslashrecs but not sure how active it is?
a post about potential Silm femslash couples (absolutely not exhausted)
just remembered @edgeoflight wrote an essay about femslash in Silm over at femslash revolution
the reason why I mention so many events because they’re amazing, Silmarilion has a huge cast and due to its nature of being written like a history book there is potential for many wlw couples, if you’re willing to go through all the bits and find all the small mentions and hints. With events (especially the femslash bingo one, it’s my fave), you can be guided towards some potential couples
