ngl knowing what we know about Varang & her rise 2 power, she'd even ADORE a baby of her own, demanding her clan worship them... or banish/kill the poor thing so it could never take her place. Chronos eating Zeus' type deal. I could see that causing a rift between Quarang also.

fro tho its either holding that baby like it's the next god in the land as her clan bows to it over and over... or throwing it in a trash can :,3 I do prefer the first tho ngl... it would be so cute to see Q and her have a family <3

I so want Varang just to turn right around and speed walk away as a confused Quaritch fails to notice the dead body behind him start to stand up until the public starts screaming. She pulls the same move from the final battle and just 'nope's outta there without a second thought

"Come on, Colonel. Twice is a coincidence, three times is a fucking pattern." Jake scoffs, stepping closer. He raises his brows and hands as he speaks, motioning the numbers.

Quaritch snarls with his teeth, casting a sharp eye on the father.

"Don't you think it's time to stop overthinking things?" Jake continues unfaltering. His pace continues, closing the distance between them. That same stern pleading in his eyes. That look that demanded understanding. For him to SEE something that isn't there.

"And then what?!" Quaritch bites the air. His tail lashing as his teeth click. "Play idiot and pray for the best? Like you did? How the hell did THAT turn out, Sully?!"

Jake shakes his head, spreading his arms in a quick 'look around you' gesture. "Look where I am… What do you have to show? What did following orders get you?"

Quaritch breaths, slouched forward. He's tired and wounded. His arm is swollen with infection. Quaritch's head was splitting in pain. What did he have to lose? What did he have left? The RDA wanted him dead on sight. He's alone, prey to Varang's clan. He's got jack shit. Not even a woman to return home to. Not even his son…

Quaritch looks past Jake, at the man's lingering family. There, holding beside the Corporal's eldest daughter, is Spider. He stares right back at Quaritch, his eyes pleading as he stiffens in place. The boy looks nearly ready to join Jake's pleading. Just an instinct away from stepping forward.

"Maybe it's about time you start thinking with your heart, and not with your head… Time to break protocol, Quaritch." Jake pleads again, his voice hoarse.
