Smart eyewear is a wearable computing device, which enhances information onto reality or actually supports people to see clearly. It's a very exciting day today!  Cat (or P-Cat) is officially out of the bag. Recon is now an Intel company.

I still clearly remember how scared -- and excited -- I was when I first opened the office door rented from UBC (I took the photo above, imagining and dreaming that a day like today would come). I am so honored to have been part of the Recon journey and to have been a force that kept pushing it forward at important times when it really needed it. Starting and running a startup is never easy and comes with tons of ups and downs. We took on challenges and risks that, looking back, are hard to fathom. Sometimes it's difficult, even for me, to understand why and how we did what we did.  One of the keys from Day One was surrounding ourselves with amazing talents, investors and friends who became part of the canvas of Recon. I’d like to thank them all for helping us achieve our goals.

Big thanks goes to my friend and business partner Dan Eisenhardt for being bold and continuing to be a great listener and all-around awesome person. The first time I met Dan and heard him talk in the UBC classroom, I knew he was going to become a successful businessman. I was right!

Another big thanks goes to my Mom and Dad who taught me to stand up on my own feet, take risks, solve problems creatively and hustle to achieve results.

Recon Snow2 Development

You need the Recon version of adb. As documented here http://goo.gl/c7dzzZ, you get it from /ReconApps/Developers *on the device*. Kind of like a bike that has its own little toolkit built in.

It's really easy to get started with the SDK. It's a jar file and in Android Studio you just need to drag it into your project and then select "Add as Library" from the right-click menu.

On my Snow 2, this will get you the current battery level: cat /sys/class/power_supply/twl6030_battery/capacity

Recon Instruments excels where Google GLASS fails; creating (or at least marketing) a product for a focused and engaged audience (for you lean startup fans-a good product-market fit).  The Jet looks like a cleaner, easier, and more relevant product for athletes than GLASS and I look forward to reviewing it in depth soon!
