FASHION FRIDAY: 10 Questions With... Jay Scott Of ReConCri
What is ReConCri?
ReConCri is clothing line that caters to both men and women.
Where did you come up with the name?
The name ReConCri stands for "Re-Constructive Criticism", due to the fact that the venture first started out as the revamping and reconstruction of already made garments, as well as accessories fashioned after buttons. The apparel no longer consists primarily. Currently all designs are original. All graphics, artwork, design and construction for ReConCri are done by me.
What kind of girl shops ReConCri?
The kind of girl that shops ReConCri is one that can not be put into a box. She is carefree, innovative, and ever-evolving.
What is the price range of your brand?
It is very affordable. Between the prices of $15 to $100.
When you were developing your brand, what were the main things you focused on?
In the beginning, my main focuses were color selection, fit, and versatility.
What is your favorite piece you currently sell at ReConCri?
Currently, my favorite piece is the Jasmine Tunic. It's comfortable, fashionable and versatile. You can style it so many different ways. I wear it all the time.
If you could collaborate with any living designer on a new collection, who would you choose to work with?
I would more so like to collaborate with an artist like Kesh to create innovative textile prints for a line.
What is the inspiration of your current collection?
Afro Punk, art, and the 90's.
If you could style 3 celebrities in your clothes, who would they be?
Solange Knowles, Rihanna, and Jayden Smith.
What's next for ReConCri? Do you have any exciting new collections in the works?
We will be showcasing the "Grunge UnDone" line soon!
