‘Lazaretto’, the ultra LP that Jack built
The science that goes into creating a real vinyl record might be easier to understand – but it is much more difficult to execute. It is a science but the actual physical work involved is really a learned skill that requires the right kind of touch. Digital music is made easier by the average person because there are tools that take care of hard work for us. A digital audio converter does the job of taking an analog source and translating it to a digital language that any computer can understand. There needs to be no human interaction during this process. A vinyl record, on the other hand, needs to be corrected for certain types of errors that may happen in the future. If the song has a lot of bass, it means that grooves have to be wider in the record – which also changes the overall size of it as well. Then there are high and low frequencies that need to be balanced out. Keep in mind that record making machines do not take care of these little intricacies on their own, it need a mindful operator to adjust for certain errors along the way. Even in the future, record making will still be a lost art. http://djworx.com/lazaretto-ultra-lp-jack-built/#.U3PIRvldW1A
