52 records of 2017 - Part 26: Reinhard Lakomy - Der Traum Von Asgard (Amiga, 1983) Where to begin with? Maybe like this: Did you ever listen to 80s-Footwork? No? Well good, because that’s about to change because Reinhard Lakomy’s „Der Traum Von Asgard“ is basically a very repetitive 11-minute prog-rock piece but only played with synths and an 808. At some point you might even think it’s an unknown Kraftwerk record or maybe one of their rough Klingklang demos. Of course Kraftwerk had some juke-ish tracks too but there’s something about this tune that’s just a little different. I guess it’s this rolling Rashad-like 808 pattern - be sure to check it out! When my buddy @millsboogie from Antwerp showed me this record in 2014 while he visited me on his digging trip through Germany i was totally mindblown. Trust me: You’ve never heard anything like this before.
