Scary Sounds

Whumpee whimpered as they pushed themselves further under the table. Caretaker slammed a cupboard door and let out a frustrated sigh. The mug landed out the countertop with such great force Whumpee thought it would break.

Whumpee curled in on themselves; trying to shield their head and keep hidden. Caretaker was obviously pretty upset, so if Whumpee stayed hidden there shouldn't be any added stress to Caretaker's plate.

Caretaker started to walk towards the table Whumpee was under.

No no no no there's at least 5 other spots that they could choose, and they decide on the spot that I'm hiding under? No no no if they find me here I'll be in so much trouble.....

Caretaker pulled out a chair with their phone in hand. They started playing TempleRun and drinking their coffee. Whatever bad spell was over them washed over as they slumped forward. Some type of happy cloud settled over them. They began to swing their legs happily.

Until they heard an UMPH and sobs following after. Caretaker dropped to their knees to find a shaking and hyperventilating Whumpee curled up. They chewed on a finger to muffle the pitiful sobs.

"Hey hey, it's okay. Lets get your fingers outta your mouth, if you want me to I can get you some carrots." Caretaker reached for Whumpee's wrist to save the finger from being chewed off. Whumpee let out some type of high pitched whimper and scooted further away from Caretaker.

"Please I'm so sorry.....I tried to hide and keep quiet I know you're stressed today so I tried to give you space but I'm so sorry I didn't want to be found I'm so sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm-"

"Listen to me: I may be stressed today, but I would never take it out on you, mmmk? The cupboard may get slammed, but I would never hit you. If you need to talk to me, need a hug, want some ramen noodles, whatever you want, just come up to me and ask." Caretaker held out a hand. "So, let me get you some tea, okay?"

Whumpee accepted the hand with a small smile. "Okay."

health stuff under the cut

hi, it’s been awhile since i wrote an update on here. i’m on twitter these days. 

i saw my endo 6 months ago and my scans and ultrasound came back with nothing visibly alarming, but my tumor marker was pretty high. she gave me the choice of doing more radiation or waiting 6 months for another ultrasound and blood test...since this was around the holidays and rai SUCKS, i decided to wait. soooooo i got appointments for weds and next weds. again it’s a wait and see situation.

today was my 6 month follow up with my surgeon. things are looking good, especially with my lips and mouth, the nerves have bounced back. downsides: head/neck/shoulder area permanently numb. also a “superior laryngeal nerve” must of been injured bc my voice tires easily and it’s difficult to sing now. 

it happens...there are so many small delicate nerves that are bound to be cut during this type or surgery. it was usual with my type of cancer to have so many tumors high in the neck area i guess? he mentioned i also had tumors near my nodes. there was A LOT. was told to keep up with my neck and shoulder stretches. i see him again in 6 months.
