Fics by B of Ericaland
As I may have posted here before, Dreamscape is one (of the many) SQ fics that has me clamoring for updates as soon as it comes. Again sweets, 2 Reginas, can you blame a girl? :D But of course also the amazing storytelling that the author is quite great at.
So while waiting for that fic's updates I resorted to rereading some of her fics and at the moment, I am quite engrossed with Never Gonna Be Alone.
BTW -- spoilers.
This was one of her first OUAT fics. I have to admit, I had some reservations on certain parts that was covered, and I think almost every SQ fic writer tend to struggle with this, Graham's death and how Regina and Emma deals with it. If you had the same reservations I did, move past it, because the succeeding chapters were just, WOW.
Every picture she creates, every scenario was quite unprecedented, I downloaded it yesterday and brought it with me to the club. (lol, yes i did. i get weird like that at times. i was able to read 3 chapters more before i had to switch to social butterfly mode)
It's a work in progress, with 44 chapters to date. I'm currently at chapter 41. Do read, especially if you favor FTL fics.
I will be continuing on with her next fics after I reread Fragmented next. For a complete list I have her masterlist here including other recs I have posted of her work.
SPOILERS BTW
They had been walking for nearly an hour when Regina finally spoke. "Do you love her?"
Emma had gotten so used to nothing but the sounds of the woods at dusk that the sudden question made her jump in surprise, but she quickly recovered. "Who?"
"The Regina in Storybrooke."
I want to marry this fic. Seriously.
Rec'd Fic Updates + New Recs
Rec'd Fic Updates
In a Land Far Far Away Chapter 18 [my rec here]
Not a Fairytale Romance Chapter 8 [my rec here]
New Recs Now I normally give a breakdown, especially why I like them, but dears, I won't do that for now. My brain is too fried. The only 2 things you need to know, as to why I love these fics, (1) they are awesome reads regardless of verse and (2) the authors do a very good job with keeping the characterizations and when the characters evolve, they are believable. I will try to give some notes if I can. Ratings refer to the A/N(s). The Second Hand Unwinds by Writetherest I have rec'd Writetherest repeatedly. Definitely one of the prominent fic writers for SQ. You like her (i'm assuming author's a she, if i'm wrong, don't hesitate to correct me) ficathons? You will love all her one shots and long fics. Links: Tumblr | FF.Net
Never Gonna Be Alone Fragmented Actions have Consequences All by B of Ericaland. So far, my top fave in her (again, i'm assuming author's a she. do correct me if i am wrong) list of work is Fragmented. I really would like to see how she will follow through with the story because I like how she is weaving the lines already. The attention to timeline can be confusing but the author make it a point to describe which timeline you're at. Link: FF.Net
Series: From the Private Recordings of Sidney Glass Date: Winter 2012, Location: Cabin in the Woods, Time: 1:42PM (M) Date: Winter 2012, Location: Mills Residence, Time: 3:27PM (G) Date: Spring 2012, Location: Storybrooke Stable Farm, Time: 12:59PM (M) All by Eshu's Playground. I have only read the second one so far, the G one and it is brilliant. The approach is also refreshing. You don't see anyone trying this all the time. It's all conversation. The challenge basically lies in communicating the character successfully with just that, no margins or elaboration of what goes on the character's heads. Nicely done. BTW, the (M)s are seriously NSFW so read with caution people. Link: Tumblr
okay. i still ended up giving a litany. oh well.
